I saw this running on the two bionics in a Verizon store I visited today. Yet the reps said the newest version is .893. Any clue what this is? Didn't notice any obvious changes from the .893 leak off of cheesecake I have been using. Just curious.

I posted another photo with build number. I apologize if this is the wrong section, but I have not even heard this version mentioned yet.

Ubuntu has come a LONG way and is now very good. However there is nothing like windows in terms of development. I use both ubuntu 12.04 and windows 7 professional. Ubuntu is obviously free and awesome but here's a list of things I couldn't do in ubuntu that I could in windows:
1. Overclock my laptop's 5650m gpu.
2. Cannot use turbo on my latpop's intel cpu. I spent about 2 hours trying to get it working but never found a solution. Not a huge deal but definitely wish I could use it as I paid for it.
As far as I can tell, that is about it. Ubuntu also only uses about 1.5GB of ram, is wickedly fast and stable and of course supremely customizable. If you are going for development the OS doesn't matter much, your compiler and emulator does. I'm somewhat certain ubuntu is faster than windows when tweaked, but you have to pretty much be an expert on how to tweak it. If you have a fast machine (say a quadcore with 8GB of ram) I doubt there is any performance difference between the two OSes. Its unlikely you will be compiling millions of lines of code for an android app, after all.
I am going to use eclipse I have another doubt: windows 8 dev preview or Ubuntu 12.04?

Easy installation of programs - Windows. When it comes to development though, you'll need Ubuntu. You'll also need to read up and learn a lot of commands (command line is where most of the compiling, installing, etc. takes place on Ubuntu during development).

Points 1&2 are done through a kernel tweak; many of the folks on Ubuntu forums are not experienced enough to provide kernel tweaking tips. Get some help at kernel.org

Sigh, I hate posts like the one by zZDave_Stud.
Apple makes great products. Google makes great software. Microsoft now provides interesting and exciting experiences.
I own a MacBook Pro, a SGSII, a Focus Flash, and soon the Nexus 7. Every device and manufacturer has their ups and downs, but don't project your issues onto them just because you blindly like one and not the other. I program for a living. Hell, I work at a big tech company; I know my way around these mobile OS' internals and their GUIs. They're all solid barring small issues. Open your eyes and realize that you could be enjoying more of the tech world if you take your blinders off.

iOS was ok while people were transitioning to smartphones.
But, now that everyone's grandparents can rock a smartphone its useless unless you have a hard on for Apple stuff. Even jail broken you can't do as much with a brand new iPhone as you can with even an antiquated Android phone.

There is no generator for the "we need a new idea" meme.
Gentlemen, we need a new idea for the new iPhone
inovate
5 rows
I'm disappointed by the lack of innovation with the new iPhone and iOS 6. I've always kept an eye on the iPhone, and has pretty much always been in my shortlist of phones simply because it is easy to use and so integrated. Sure it may have lacked features that were available on android and lacked customisation, but customisation isn't regular Joe Bloggs cup of tea.
As far as I can tell, it isn't enough of an upgrade to be considered a 5, more like a 4GS. huge disappointment, guess Samsung, HTC and windows 8 phones can breathe a sigh or relief that this incantation of the iPhone is utter wÄnK in comparison to the competition.
Has there been any benchmarks for the new A6 chip?

Nexus one wasn't really for cusumer use, more of a dev phone. Just fanboys build up non-sense hype.
Top much competition in the OS market.but google is safe from its rivals because of its service. But because now more companies want to have the similar services. These upcoming OS are a good platform to furnish with those services.

I heard Sony too, which did put me off the Nexus 4 a bit, Sony > LG in my experiences.
i doubt there will be a new device launched at IO they only just launched and sorted out their supply issues of N10 and N4. i reckon they will give out white versions of the N4 at IO like shown in the leaked photos, and MAYBE the nexus 7 refresh will appear; releasing a new phone now will kill sales of the N4 and it wont happen nexus 5 or w/e it will be will be seen around sept/nov like every previous phone.
How do we know it will be called key lime pie? It seems to me that we're now on beans, so I think they'll call it "kidney bean", and then after that, "lima bean."
Neither kidney or lima beans are desserts.
A tech site was having a tourney for the best phone , apparently BlackBerry tweeted about it so they now have all the BlackBerry users coming in droves taking over the poll. Please visit this site and vote for the Nexus 5. At least level the playing field. Thanks.

That's right, besides we all already know the N5 is the #1 Best phone I did make a vote though. It was also on one of my Google Now cards this morning too.

They must be delusional. It's plainly a sinking platform

Can't we let the Blackberry people win this one? They're losing every other battle vs. the Nexus, haha.
They can win this battle since they almost went completely bankrupt lol. The two aren't even a fair comparison. The Nexus 5 is way better on both hardware and software.

Techno Buffalo has become completely over run by stupid, smug BB fanboys! They are worse than Apple fanboys! Blackberry ruined what was a decent site. The damn place now feels like a BB run cult of people not willing to accept the company that makes their phones has gone to crap years ago.

Meh, let them win. They wasted away their market position, spent billions of dollars... just to be in last place.
Sounds like money well spent to win a technobuffalo user poll.
Everyone else is too busy enjoying their phones.

This is almost laughable that a blackberry even made it that far. Oh well- let's secure a win here- get Tor Browser if you can't refresh and vote again- vote, get new identity, rinse and repeat. Shouldn't take too long!

Imagine if google tweeted to vote for the Nexus 5. Their servers would crash and their website would be ddosd by accident lol.

The app store is laughable. It's sad when a company has to tweet to its consumers to help it win a poll.
