Ever Wanted Bravia Engine on Nexus S? Well,here it is!!
Sony Bravia Engine provides HQ IMAGE & MOVIE Quality Improvements!
it was first ported to the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 by zdzihu,So credits goes to him.
Benefits
It's A Post-Processing Engine, so you can view the improvements only on your phone's screen.

Requirements
Android Gingerbread 2.3.x
At least 5MB free on /system
Extract the two files inside the Downloaded file (be_movie & be_photo) and place it in
Code:
/system/etc
Now you need to edit the build.prop of your ROM
--> so Open /system/build.prop and add
Code:

ro.service.swiqi.supported=true
persist.service.swiqi.enable=1
That's done, Now Save the file.
Now here is the tricky part a.k.a setting the correct permissions of the files!!
Here are the file permissions:

set_perm(0, 0, 0755, "/system/etc/be_photo");
set_perm(0, 0, 0644, "/system/build.prop");
So that means,
Permissions should be
Reminder the permissions are the key here if you don't use this it wont work!

be_photo- 0755
build.prop- 0644

u can use terminal emulator and execute:

U will never see a huge difference!! But indeed it Does . It works only on Stock Gallery & Video app. Diff can be seen at full brightness!!
Works Pretty fine on Nexus & GS2.

I came to Nexus S from X10 after a very long time with the X10.
The work zdzihu has done for X10 is absolutely brilliant to say the least. Without him so many of the amazing things that have happened to the X10 would have.
Now, in my opinion the Bravia engine is a load of crap. Technically it might be a masterpiece by zdzihu, but in real life it offers no improvement at all.
I mean, can anyone see any difference? I certainly couldn't then and still cant.
It must appear any button for activate on settings/display like on sony ericsson or don't? Could cause problems or incompatibilities with voodoo drivers

Yes, there's a little difference in color rendering and contrast. Without the hack colors are close to reality, with the hack colors are more "intense", but further from reality. Look at the clouds, they're more yellow. The grass is more green, etc... Not flagrant but noticeable. This is kind of HDR rendering we can see since a few years in photography.

Ok but there are necesary knows if that phone had voodoo drivers or not cause I think the result will be similar

Since voodoo change color rendering, results shouldn't be the same having voodoo enable or not, even if both hacks doesn't adjust settings of the same thing. Anyway, I'm a 9023 user, so voodoo doesn't apply to my phone.

Yes voodoo for screen does not work on i9023 because it is not a amoled screen. However the voodoo sound works well.
I already told u,there wont be any major changes, infact its same on GS2. And Voodoo its far superior than this. And there wont be any On/Off for this.

a new soft-mod based on Mikes and Pebe rom CM6 2.2.1

As this is my first soft-mod there might be some negative things about this mod, if there is please post and I will try to fix it.
I made this soft-mod the fastest as possible with heaps of ram (about 78mb on average) and made it look like an iPhone.
This soft-mod is great in speed and performance.

And please don't argue saying this is a crappy soft-mod because it is actually pretty good. Also please don't say this is a disgrace to the android community.
Installation.
RECOVERY/BACKUP
Code:
- Unzip the folder.
- Mount your PHONE and put the folder into SDCARD/clockworkmod/backup
- Unplug your PHONE and reboot it into recovery.
- After that, go to “backup and restore / restore / select your copied backup file”
- After it installs it, select “reboot system now”
CWM recovery 2.8.0.5 is recommended.
After installation the lock screen wont appear right away. Have to wait until at least second time to see iPhone lock screen. If not open the lockbot app and install it manually.
150system partition is recommended but not necessarily.

first...everyone is free to repost, modify all my work in XDA. I'm not taking credits to any of them.
second...this mod original name is megabassbeat created by dehumanized. I have asked him to port it to galaxy y and modify some part of it. you can find my thread here. it contain the the link for the files and more details like how it works and how to modify it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646406 OP doesn't do anything except rename the filename then claim this mod as his work. everything inside it is exactly same with mine.
well...as I've said, everyone is free to modify my work. they don't need my permission if they want to modify it. I don't care if he doesn't mention my name or put the original link in their post after they modify it. nevertheless, in this case OP is basicly steal my work then claim it as his work. I'm afraid it is his second attempt to steal someone's work and he has warned before.

are you sure?(lol)
this mod contain two apk, dsp manager and audioeffectservice.apk. the dsp will show up if you install this mod correctly. stock recovery won't work. you should install it via custom recovery like CWM. you don't need check into init.d folder since it doesn't install anything there.
I flashed this mod through squadzone recovery on my mini(cm7.2 official) but I didn't found it useful because my rom already had dsp manager in it but the second apk wasn't installed.So I want to undo this plz help....because I m facing some issues after flashing this mod.....

i don't think you can read correctly..APPS are not the only features..there are DISPLAY and PERFORMANCE realted features as well like Xperia S Non-Transparent theme, with optional transparent one
Modded Xperia Theme heavily with some ICS Elements.and if you do not like this, do not use it.Noone is forcing you

Hi adityalahiri13, Thanks for your reply and instructions. In system/app folder I see now email.apk with the same permissions like all the other apps, but when I reboot I do not see email app in the app list in the launcher. Do you have another thought what might be wrong or what I have forgotten?? THis Rom is really fast and have great battery life for me, so I hope you or someone else can help me with the email.apk, because I need agenda and e-mail from Outlook exchange from my work.

Flash it with recovery.
Change your build. prop by long pressing on it and choosing open with text editor. Scroll down to where you see those lines and add the "2" in the right place, then save it.

Ok on Xperia S (FW.50 ITA, BL lock) , but I can not perceive improvements, really hard without direct comparison!
When you first turn I noted the lack of network coverage SIM resolved after another reboot

I installed only BRAVIA2 and I have not tried AX Album & Movie app.zip

Well honestly i don't know it may wok
With cm cause i had used TW rom for it
push the files manually someone do it like that and it worked

I tested it and it works on 4.2.2 CM i got UI FC the 1st but after a second restart everything is good

I flashed this on Stock 4.1.2 and i didn't notice any diferences...

Yeah,, I have 2 tab, so I compare the two of tab with Sony bravia engine and my second tab without Sony bravia 2. I see different. thanks

works perfect with stock 4,1,2+tablet ui+kk kernel. screen images are bit sharper with richer colors..at least i experienced it by that way :laugh:

I am glad that someone feel the difference
Actually you can feeI it getting screenshot of same picture again-and again. if picture becomes Over exposed you Can confirm that BE works. Thankyu for share.
