If you are using CM7 you can flash the Glitch kernel. But I am warning you, it won't be stable. 1.4 is the usual upper limit, and even then a lot of games won't run properly.

Wildfire Overclock

Hi all
I 've wildfire with root access .I tried to flash it with all custom ROMS's, only CyanogenMod run after reststart but wasn't stable, others couldn' t even start after reboot. Loaded kernels ,without OC dosn't help. I only need try OC .Can it be done without reflashing whole ROM ??
Ok done with Jacob Kernel
So far stable on 652MHz .Visible speed difference in google maps

My HTC switches off casualy on 768Mhz i think this is too high for any Wildfire
Mine seems stable now at max 652mhz and min 245mhz ... i get like 3.8 mflops and I think thats nice?
Mine works fine on cyanogenmod with oc 768 mhz
i have a question do you have to flash a custom ROM to OC your wildfire?
or can you just have the ROM you got when you bought your phone root the phone and then flash OC kernel?

Kernel here :

How to..
Hi, how do I overclock? I mean, what app do I have to use? I also find a picture showing the temperature in the status bar - maybe it is also possible to show the speed as well.
M.
buy SetCpu from android market
Mines can do 748mhz ,but if i set 768mhz,it can't boot and become a "soft brick"(use clockwork mod recovery to recover it)
I use cyanogen mod 7 #17
I found 691 to be most stable for every ROM i tried so far. SetCpu can be found free somewhere in the XDA forum.

What kernel do you use? (MIUI)

Hey guys and girls
Just wanted to know what kernel you currently use or have found best for battery life
Thanks
I'm running MIUI 1.9.12 (STOCK) + Glitch V11 ML at 1.2GHz with a 75UV on all.
Thanks for bringing up this question , i was going to ask it now
iam running stock 1.8.26 Miui as well , and i want to know what's the best kernel for battery life and good display
Get Glitch Kernel for OC/UV upto 1.7!! or Semaphore (OC/UV upto 1.2 +VoodooFIX )or Galaxian(OC/UV upto 1.2 ,VoodooFIX) all these are good ones ..!!
i'd recommend Glitch kernel i have already used it and it was pretty good!!

[Q] Need help on whitch new kernel to use? Plz

Hey all
Could someone please guide me in which kernel/rom to flash for gaining more overclocking speed..!?
I currently have Dario's JVQ MOD 1.2.1+update 1.2.2 installed with OC running 1200mhz current kernel is cf-root 3.7 - CWM tels me !!
All is running smootly and very fine, but i would like to OC some more 1.6 or so!
but i am new in this so not sure which kernel/rom version to use for further OC?
I have CWM backup and understand how to use the tools we have avalible.
My phone is a I9000 europe model JVQ
Regards all
hay mate i think 1200 is more enough for i9000....because 1.6 make more battery consumption and i also tried but now happen.....i think u should try semaphore 1.5.0 its also a OC and u can get to 1200 or Galaxian Gt....these are best kernel i found now days.....if u wish to more then u can download the old version of Talon dev kernel...i OC my phone with Talon Dev not remember the version but u can got 1400.

overclock on honeycomb stock, rooted, cwm

I just got this thing from best buy black Friday online, its really awesome (except for the screen lol) but is there anyway to overclock yet for stock honeycomb? I saw some custom roms but I think they were for Android 2.2
I also want to know, rooted stock honeycomb.
You need a custom kernel to OC, Honeystreak r7 or newer are based on stock 50x and has an OC-able kernel.
Which OC tool would you recommend for the Streak 7?
Setcpu works fine, as you're a member of xda you can download the full version for free on the setcpu thread.
But your kernel has to support OCing for any util to OC it.
so is there a kernel working with the stock honeycomb for setcpu?
