how to mute speaker notifications when connected to bluetooth - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Good day,
I have done a bit of searching on this topic and have not found an answer to a rather surprising issue.
I just got my GNote and have paired it with my Voyager Pro+ AD2P BT headset.
Much to my surprise even though calls and VLingo are routed to my BT headset I come to discover that event notifications are sent to BOTH the GNote's speaker AND my BT headset (with a slight delay\echo as a result).
This to me is not how it should be. All my other phones would totally mute the speaker and redirect ALL sounds to the connected headset automatically, whether it was WM, iPhone, whatever.
In my searches I see others have had the same issues with Android phones.
Am I missing something here?
Is this happening to other GNote owners, be it wired headsets or with BT headsets?
Is there an App that corrects this issue?
Is this a basic Android OS oversight?
I am shocked and can only imagine that I will have to remember to put myphone into silent mode each time I want to use my BT headset and not have notificationscome over the built in speaker. I have yet to try this as I fear it will also silence the notifications sent to my BT headset.
Curious to hear from others on this matter.
Thanks,

Question about Bluetooth profiles on the Diamond

Hey all,
I just picked up a shiny new set of Sony DR-BT10CX A2DP headphones, because I was sick of the huge Diamond headphone adapter.
I was hoping that the clever folks of xda-developers could clear up a few things for me, though.
Does A2DP support calling (microphone, etc), or should the phone switch the HFP/HSP when a call is made (or comes in)?
I ask because I'm getting bizarre behaviour...
If I'm listening to music and I make a call, the music mutes and I get my friend's voice through the headphones, but I have to speak through the phone.
If I'm listening to music and I receive a call, the music still mutes, but I have to use the phone to hear and speak.
Also, voice commands don't work through the microphone.
If the phone is supposed to switch into HFP from A2DP to deal with calling, this all makes sense (sort of...), but it doesn't explain why the profile switching doesn't happen.
I know there are already a bunch of topics about the Diamond and A2DP, but nothing that fits my situation. Since I'm using the Telus CDMA Diamond, I imagine that the other problems with A2DP were fixed (since I never have the problem of the phone playing music through the speaker instead of the headphones after a call), but it's still not perfect.

Need some advice with Motorola S9 pairing with P4000

Got a set of Motorola's S9 BT headphones for Xmas. It paired up just fine with with my Titan (P4000). Music playback works great, and the phone responds to the controls on the headset (volume up/down, play/pause, etc.) While stereo playback is great, it doesn't seem to operate at all on a call. It rings when a call comes in, and when I press to answer, all I get is a slight crackle of static with no inbound/outbound audio. The call seems to stay connected, but I'm unsure if there's something wrong with the BT on my phone or if it's a defective headset, since I don't own another BT headset to test it out with.
Are there any known Bluetooth issues with Telus' P4000 with their Windows 6.1 update? Or did I get a bum headset, and should I exchange it?
Thanks in advance!

Help using bluetooth headset with xperia x1

Hi, i have spent some time searching now and since i couldn't find this anywhere i decided to post here, hope someone can help me.
Recently, i bought the official sony playstation 3 bluetooth headset (http://www.us.playstation.com/PS3/Accessories/SCPH-98095) and i have connected it to my xperia x1 through bluetooth (running with itje's touch-it xperience v13.2), the problem is, it only outputs sound for the voice calls, i can't listen to music on it or the normal phone sounds. I know it would be mono sound and not high quality, but i would like to listen to the sound anyway sometimes because its better then leaving it silent.
i have tried in the bluetooth configuration window, clicking in advanced, editing the wireless device profile, thre it was marked hands-free, i clicked refresh and headset appeared, i marked it, then the headset disconnects. when i reconnect it, it auto demarks headset, or it doesnt connect.
I have looked around to see if it was the bluetooth headset problem, but i have not seen anyone else complaining about this or even mentioning it can't play the phone sounds (just some complains about the ps3 sounds not outputing but thats the ps3 fault), and i have also searched to see if it is x1s fault but haven't managed to find an answer as well, so if anyone can plz help i would really appreciate it. Thanks.
thats pretty much because its no BUG.
what u want is a a2dp headset. something tells me that the ps3 headset doesn has this feature. normal headset just route voice calls while a2dp headset route everything.
actually, i didnt use the word bug because i though that might be the case
it has the headset and handsfree profile, not a2dp, but what i wasnt sure if it really needed to have de a2dp profile to output normal sounds, from what i've read it seems it is needed to output stereo high quality sounds, but just sounds with low quality would work for me, thats why im asking, i though the headset profile would be enough for that.
so if i get your message right, unless it has specifically the a2dp profile, there is no other way of making the sound output on the headset, low or high quality?
now i know there might be a way to make it work.
i was listening to some music today using the music player that comes with touchflo 3d, then i pressed the talk button of my bluetooth headset to issue a voice command (with the microsoft voice command program), then the music started playing in my headset while it was waiting for the voice command, once it got the command the music went back to the phone.
Does anyone know any way to make my headset keep playing the sounds, or could at least explain what happens when i press the talk button so i have an idea of where to look to see if find a way?
no one can help me with this? not any tip or a way to select a different output for audio or anything like that?
Also an issue with Audio Gateway
I have tested this issue on two seperate headsets, and so far can get the Xperia to work ONLY as hands free. Seperate phones sperate headsets. The other phone pushed audio thru to the headset whereas the X1 only routes calls.
I also cant find much of this on XDA or anywhere else?
Help?
Regards
i used an ad2p software downloaded from here when i had this issue with my lg ks20. But i havent the gut or im just lazy to try this app on the x1. Maybe u should give that ad2p software a try.

TomTom and Bluetooth Headset question

Hi guys,
I tried searching for this but couldnt find it.
I have a bluetooth headset and its always on when Im in the car. The thing is though when its on, the Tomtom sends the directions to my headset instead of going through the speaker.
Is there a way to have TomTom speak through my Xperia speaker and not come through my bluetooth headset while its on?
thanks
does anyone know?
think when adp2 headsets are connected all sounds no matter what are passed that direction
would be possible to change that but as I believe 99% of people would not ask for such a feature the demand may be too little for supply to come about
hmm thats true.
Just thought it would be cool to have tomtom come through the speaker and then if I get a call, it would go straight to my bluetooth.
Thanks though
Uncheck the A2DP option from your headset, and only leave the handsfree option.
OO I should try that.
For now I noticed if I turn tomtom on first and then my bluetooth headset, it comes through the speaker and not my headset, not sure what happens yet when I receive a call, never got one yet while my been doing this.
Will try disabling a2dp too
Thanks

EverE T909s stereo bluetooth handsfree and HD2

I just wanted to buy a stereo bluetooth handsfree for my device and finally I decided to buy an EverE T909s about 40 $...
it pairs correctly and fully to the device and music sound is good... but when there is an incoming call or when i call some one its microphone is so weak and people cant hear me!
I just paired the headset to another phone but it worked properly...
any solution?
I have the same problem. But in my case people can hear me when T909S is connected to the phone (Samsung), not very good, but they can.
What I'm concerned is when I connect this headset to my computer and try to use it for Skype, whatever settings I use the sound from Microphone is always very squeaking and it's impossible to use this headset as my headphones in Skype...
Any solutions?
