[Q] Samsung flashlight app - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there an official Samsung flashlight app? I know there is an option to turn on the light in settings, but it's cumbersome to access.

there are several flashlight Widgets. I use one of them.

[Q] Notification Power Widget

Hey all
I've been searching the forums but found nothing so far.
The galaxy is born with power controls in the notification window.
Has anyone modded this to include more options as we're seing in Cyanogenmod? e.g. 2g/3g, sync, brightness etc?
Yes I agree, I hope someone could add these features, it's very useful, not like the widgets Samsung put which are very useless (why auto-rotate or bluetooth, and not 3G ????)
Well, I use the rotation lock on my Hero.
But more options is always a plus

Miui with torch?

Hello!
I realy like the miui roms but there are some things that i could not get to work with it when i tried it last month.
What i miss is the support for ultrabright flashlight for example with n1 torch
i also want trackball alerts like in enoms rom.
is these things possible to get yet ?
Thanks in advance!
Of course, you have and torch and trackball alerts!
...from the market.

Not necessarily, you have the torch in notification menu and trackball alerts in settings - system - Led notifications. Both works perfectly.
Thannk you for the quick response, yes i know about the torch but does it support ultra bright mode ?

Quick Flashlight Access

I was wondering what people do for flashlight capability on their phones. Which app/widget do you use? How do you access it? How quickly can you get to it when you need it? Maybe it's just me, but I like having access to a light quickly and easily.
I've gone through a few methods:
1. First I was using the assistive light widget on my home screen because it has virtually no delay and a very built-in look to it, but it's just too dim and the brightness cannot be adjusted. And to use it, I have to get to my home screen first.
2. I started using the smart flashlight widget, which uses the full brightness capabilities of the camera flash LED. It also looks nice but has a slightly longer delay than the assistive light. Still, it's just a widget and to use it I first have to turn on the display, swipe to unlock the phone, and then click the widget.
3. I wanted faster access, so I tried using a home screen widget. Tiny Flashlight + LED has one, but that still requires turning on the screen, swiping (1 or more screens) to the flashlight widget, and then clicking on a full-screen button. Still not very speedy or efficient, and I'm not a fan of the "multiple widgets" lock screen anyway.
4. Just now I set things up using Tasker, which allows you to automate a flashlight using the TeslaLED tasker plugin. Basically I set it up so that when the lockscreen is visible, the TeslaLED flashlight is toggled by shaking the phone. So far it seems pretty efficient but I'm a little concerned it will misfire on me.
It would be cool to turn on the flashlight with a combination of hardware buttons, or have a toggle button as one of the quick apps on the lock screen, but I don't think either of those options are possible.
So for anyone else who likes quick access to their flashlight, what do you do?
With the screen off I use the long volume up toggle from wanam. With the screen on I use the stock widget.

Wanam for sure. Of course you need root. Without root I've used both the assisting light and smart flashlight.

Assistive Light?

Does the S6 have a built-in flashlight widget? For a long time Samsung included the Assistive Light, but it seems it's been removed. What I love about it is the instantaneous response; every other flashlight widget I've tried has a delayed activation. It appears there's a notification toggle, but I prefer the widget. Thanks!
Think its gone, I just moved the flashlight quick button to the front.
*edit* Damn I'm blind today

Dang! That lightning fast (or lighting fast) widget is one of my favorite things about my S4. I'm likely upgrading to an S6, hopefully I can find a way to get it on the new phone. Good having the light on the toggles, but I'd rather have both.
Yeah but on the bright side getting into the habit of only using the toggle means you can access it from any screen including lock screen without thinking about it.

Disable Swipe Down Menu on Lockscreen

Is there a way to disable the swipe down menu on the lockscreen? The whole point of the phone being locked is so that I can only access the info/notifications.
Well if I can just swipe down while on the lockscreen and see the previewed text/who o missed a call from/email etc it kinda makes locking the phone pointless.
Any idea how to disable that feature? I feel like I'm just missing it but IDK?

This is under settings, lockscreen, notifications.
You can hide content or disable them on lockscreen in general.

I can still drag the pull down menu when the screen is locked.
Anyone can turn on/off Audio, Flashlight, Blue light filter, Do Not Disturb, Auto Rotate, Always On Display, Sync, Edge Lighting, Dolby Atmos, Night mode, Bixby Routines and Navigation bar settings. Either I am missing something or allowing anyone unfettered access to the settings on the locked screen is a new feature of the OS.
I want to completely disable/hide the pull down menu on the locked screen. If I need to do anything on the phone with the exception of making emergency calls and using the camera, I should first login with the pattern, fingerprint or facial recognition. A Samsung rep responded to a post similar to this on the Samsung community forum that only a third party app can completely disable that pull down menu. smh. I really hope someone here found a way to disable that menu.
