Various Boot Modes-|Fastboot?|Bootloader?|-|And other weird boot modes| - Samsung Galaxy Mini

I've playing around to find the key combination for hboot and fastboot for mini.
Why? Cuz we can flash raw images in fastboot mode.

None of these are fastboot modes.
but i dont what they are...maybe some1 can clarify.
Note:
All these combination are pretty useless as of now, but i may not have described them properly.
There could be other ways to get to these modes.
If u find something different, post it.
I'm no dev.
Correct me if i'm wrong.
Latest addition:
There may not be a fastboot for mini.
But what are these weird modes?
Hmm..Galaxy5 and Fit also have such modes.
Until someone finds something interesting or finds a use for these modes.
Topic Closed.Of course the thread will remain open.

seems that if you wait in mode 1, you'll boot too, after a long time tho.

Good. So maybe fastboot mode is present in own mini ... mmmmm

I tough of that Fastboot stuff too... But i seems that samsung replaced the original hboot with their own fork of it...

Likely...seems the old I7500 and I5700 had it..and all the htc has it.
That's another disadvantage then.
There's also something abt a forced upload mode..any idea abt that?

I see the service-center guy try some of this 'codes' (the 1. in particular) before accepting a broken device .
[ he checked for modified rom ? or simply want to look like a very skilled expert ? he accepted and repaired - for free - my briked device ...]
Also - from his hands position - may be some codes with the proximity sensor...
but not tried yet...

You are not the only one who found out this combination 1 month ago i was playing with my phone and i was in all modes but didnt take the pain to find out what they are .....

When you boot Nexus 7, press the power+volume up, you will access to APX mode.
And the Nexus 7 will stay in Black Screen.

nvflash presumably should just work, try it? I'd assume this is a protocol that's not changing.
That said, I'd personally rather use fastboot to do stuff like flash recovery, etc. nvflash is a pain in the ass IMO.
Yeah, but nvflash is supposed to be able to do something fastboot can't: recovery / unbrick from a shredded bootloader.
Check out this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1879228
We're already discussing it and looking into it.

If only my Samsung could abuse APX mode. Only thing a hard bricked ace gets is ARM11 dump mode (yay.)

Hey guys,
I found SBK calculator goo.gl/j9Iic (input your CSSN number founded on nexus box).
I had almost same prolbem. I was on bootloader 3.14 and then i flashed bootloader 4.11.. after that i had google logo appearing and disappearing continiously. I managed to enter APX mode but when i'm trying to get access through nvflash utility it says
Unknown device found.
That's it... I can't do nothing more. I've tried both - windows and linux version of nvflash and both returns same message.
When I run 'lsusb' command from linus i see my nexus 7 as 0955:7330 Nvidia Corp. device.
Plz help anybody. :crying:

I could only enter APX mode via press&hold volume+ and power button for current mode.

Had a similar case. I might say something stupid, but I seem to recall that holding both "Volume +", "Volume -", and "Power" did the trick and brought the bootloader menu back.

I doubt that you needed to use that fix. That fix is for the downgraded bootloader brick. I suspect you were only in soft brick. Was it bootlooping?
Hold power and volume down to enter bootloader. Do or did you have TWRP installed?
More information please.

Dear. there is nothing after hold power and volume down, can't reboot, enter bootloader and TWRP... There is nothing on screen even charging... Only black screen. It quite strange
It show new added hardware when the phone connect with PC.
I only root and install xposed. System is 5.1.1, international version.
It showed qhsubs_bulk before I install Qualcomm Drivers. So I think maybe there are similar issue. Thanks

No. But if can't boot at all will have to RMA. N9 and N6 will show nothing if battery completely down. Has to have at least 10% (guessing) before will do anything once totally depleted.

hi,
I seem to have the same problem as OP, I have no access to fastboot, either by console or button combination.
I also tried the solution provided by opssemnik but when I try to use blank-flash I get the error "sdl-transfer-image:send-image:sdl-open-multi:target error" when flashing singleimage.bin.
I have Lollipop 5.1.1. Any ideas? My phone seems a goner now...

DO you have SDK manager installed on your computer and your phone's manufacturer Drivers? If not install SDK Manager here.
http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html#top Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select SDK tools only, you will see the link for windows.
After you've installed this and the drivers from the manufacturer go into SDK you just installed and install "Google USB Driver".
From there open a command prompt, plug your phone into the computer and type "adb reboot bootloader" without the quotation marks and that will get you into bootloader. you can also type "adb reboot recovery" without the quotes.
ANother way is to go to Titanium backup, hit menu, scroll down to reboot to recovery. One of those should work.

Custom binary blocked by FRP lock

Hello people.
So i got a custom recovery (TeamWin project). I disabled OEM Unlock on purpose, because i thought it wouldn't show the red line up in the bootscreen.
After trying to reboot, it wouldn't reboot, and i can't go into Recovery mode. I can't install any custom firmware too, because i've got the OEM Unlock set to "off"
Can someone please help, i can't find a topic similiar to my case, where i've bricked my phone and have no idea what to do.
Thanks to all those who are tying me to help <3.

My Red Magic 3 stuck in fastboot mode.

My Red Magic 3 stuck in fastboot mode. I can enter the recovery mode. I tried to wipe all the data, and after that i reboot the phone, still stuck in fastboot mode. Also, because of the wipe, I think it disabled USB Debugging.
Can someone help me plz? The only way I know is take out the battery for while. But im not sure how to do that. Also, I can maybe wait for the battery run out, but it may take a long time.

You need to explain what you mean by that and what things you did before this occured. Have you tried getting to download manually? By that I mean turning the tablet off and then holding vol up and down while plugging in the USB cable to the PC. Also, what happens when you try to boot to system?

You need to read this thread to install TWRP. You do it with Odin and not fastboot. Odin is what Samsung uses INSTEAD of fastboot.
I cannot install TWRP,..
1.I Shut down
2.Press power and Vol up button
3.Gets in Recovery
4. I scroll to Reboot to bootloader
5. Goes into download mode. Freezes
6.Press power and Vol down buttons
7.Goes back to home screen
8. Rinse and repeat

Do you have Odin running? Do you get the "added message" in Odin? That is the only way to tell if it is connected. You say it "freezes" but that is normal. So long as you get the added notice in Odin, you are ready to flash. If you don't get the "added" message, then you have to enter the download mode manually and NOT from the recovery menu. Also, have you unlocked the bootloader? That has to be the very first step. Nothing will work till you do that.

I think I know what your problem is. You've had other tablets and have always used fastboot for rooting, unlocking and flashing. FORGET EVERYTHING YOU KNOW. Samsung doesn't work like other tablets. The ONLY time you use fastboot with this device is AFTER you have unlocked it, installed TWRP, rooted and want to install a GSI ROM. You DO NOT use fastboot to unlock the bootloader, root the tablet or flash TWRP, stock ROMs or custom ROMs. You can find instruction for unlocking the bootloader here. It is for the A7 but the A8 unlocks the same way. Then use the other link I posted for installing TWRP.
ONG he was using fastboot.

My understanding is different. The problem is that the download mode can't be started because there is a hangup. So how can you use Odin, which requires a working phone in download mode?
