I just got a replacement thrill still have issues with the phone I was wondering if someone can help me find a link to when this phone will get 2.3 gingerbread
Sent from my LG-P925 using XDA App
It hasn't been announced and nobody knows for sure. Last date I read was Dec. 9th which came and went.
At&t promised GB to all 2011 phones by the end of the year, but when have they been known to be truthful?
Sent from my LG-P925 using Tapatalk
well you can just use the GB KDZ file and it would work.
If I have a replacement phone and the problems continue what will at&t do
Sent from my LG-P925 using XDA App
you could try cm7... thats gb. and man is it quick
Sent from my LG Thrill 4G...
Its quick, but its not very polished yet. I havebtried sk3 yet, but the first selfKANG was rather buggy. I'll be trying out sk3 soon. We'll see.

Just saw on the g2x forum that official gingerbread is avalible for it. That hopefully means we shouldn't be that long after. Or, is it T-mobile that's making that firmware? Anyhow, it shouldn't be that hard to make it work on our phone. Atleast till LG releases theres.
Anyway, what's your thoughts? Should someone try to fix this for our device? Should be relativity easy. And if it is tmo that's making the FW, then I guess mkv support and such is gone. Pauls Gr1 is probably better in every way except maybe stability, which should interest someone atleast.
Looks gash to me, Gingerbread userspace atop Froyo kernel.
Just read Paul O'brien's tweet: "v21e rolling to the G2X... better late than never eh?"
Hopefully the update voor de 2X will follow soon.
Fingers crossed

Ive been using the GR1 from modaco site and it damn smooth, cant wait till other devs get there hands on it to tweak and kernel it, it will be MEGA
Some Italian site had the news of gb release in UK, anyone can confirm?

Don't worry optimus brothers and sisters... You aren't missing out on much! Its not an official update, by that I mean its not complete or supported by T-Mobile USA. As stated it still has a froyo kernel and the only thing that changed for me was faster GPS lock and faster boot time, otherwise cm7 is still the way to go. Also comes with stupid asop camera and only 2.3.3
I'm tired of LG!

Just wondering if this had anything to do with the class action lawsuits.
Anyone in the UK think we can return the handset under the sale of goods act as it said Upgradable to GB on the box but is still not upgradable?
While you can never completely trust what support people say...

They were pretty good about the news when it came to the froyo update for the ally so im hopeful itll be soon
So we've heard a couple of second-hand accounts of a release in mid-October and now the LG tech saying "soon." This is good, really. It's just so hard to wait, since this phone isn't fully functional without GB. Pretty much nothing can use the front-facing camera until this comes out

Just so everyone knows. The LG Esteem is the same exact phone as the LG Revolution. Just a different carrier and different OS. Myself and mtmichaelson have been trying to contact people who have the LG Esteem to get a system dump from them to make porting Gingerbread to our phones easier. Hopefully we should have something to tell you guys soon.
Woot! Keep it up guys!

I'm not even really worried about rooting it. I just want it on my phone! Lol!
Hey guys, just a quick update before going to bed for 2 hours of sleep, root has been accomplished! I was able to help get super user working properly after they were able to gain access. It has not been released to the masses, but will be soon. In return for a little bit of my assistance, I now have in my possession the full system dump and the boot.img from the gingerbread build on the esteem and will be working to see if it can somewhat easily be ported over.

I've seen that quite a few other devs on on other forums working on ICS roms for their phones. Where's ours?
Sent from my LG-P925 using xda premium
ICS
It's out there in the ether, right along side the GB update.
Don't ever forget that those ICS ROMs out there are leaked from manufacturer, the only one from scratch is Cyanogen. But unfortunately the O3D and Thrill manufacturer is one of the worse in the mobile world, so don't expect leaked ICS builds so we can work with before July, I really don't think it will happen.

Just got the update notification, currently running and quite happy with GB v20b. No rush for me to update to GB v20c. Thought some might be interested.
Cheers

We've had V20C for quite a while. It's currently unrootable.

Just popped into say that I'm currently building a ROM. Hopefully based of V20C
oooooh teasing bad!
Sent from my LG Thrill 4G...
I totally see what you mean.
The title threw me off.
There's a V20B_00.kdz available now.
If' it's rootable and runs on AT&T frequencies, I'm using it as a base. Screw V20C. xD
WOAH! V20B_00.kdz seems to be PURE LG.
No bloatware or anything.
Not rootable yet though.
I'm going head on into this. The most LEGIT Lg rom yet.
Rootable or not. Gb without the bloatware sounds awesome
Sent from my LG-P925 using XDA Premium App
Forget it.
They aren't rootable.
I'm starting development on V21A
wait so there is a rogers v20b? Whats the link to it?
Im just gonna say good bye to the thrill and att

Don't worry. A ROM is in the works. Gingerbread of course.
I figured I have been watching. i played with it last week but got no where. I have to say I like that LG better then my Galaxy for some things for sure. The keyboard is way better then my S II
And why can we not use the Roger's baseband? Different radio or frequencies or what? I'm just a layman on this, but at first thought, I'd expect that it might work. Just wanting to know, to learn.

Yea link please. I'm still having baseband issues and want to reupgrade anyway.
Is the baseband a set of files like in the system folder. I'm think with a bit of tweaking they should run on 21A.
The issue I have is that the signal keeps dropping of on the 21A rom but it is fine on the 20A.
I want ics so bad why is there development for for the od3 in android section but not thrill its the same phone

Everyone in their right mind stays away from the US version of a phone.
International versions are ALWAYS the first to get updates.
Hence why the Optimus 3D is getting it in the 3rd Quarter and the LG Thrill isn't.

Updates for Nexus phones come straight from Google.
That's why they get updates fast.
