[Q] sms back to normal, installed JimdemDroid - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I installed [Tweak] JimdemDroid Tweak for CM7 Roms (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1379754)
and was faster, but I did not like sms, slowed, is to change the sms? some mod? or return to normal only the sms?

What do you mean? To set permission, tap mount r/w on the top side of root explorer, long press on mms.apk, tap permission.
Reboot after set permission

[BOOT ANIMATION ] sci fi android boot animation + easy instructions

after trying several bootanimations i liked this the most...
see video
ww.youtube.com/watch?v=OgcfgvdzSso
download file
instructions:
1) download the bootanimation.zip file to your sd card.
2) use root explore (android market) as this can write to the system
top of screen, tap the mount button to r/w
then replace by copy/paste bootanimation.zip to /system/customize/resource
there is ur original bootanimation.zip file.
it will ask to overwrite the bootanimation select yes
then hightlight new bootanimation select permissions
user needs to be ticked as read and write
group needs to be ticked as read
others also ticked as read
press ok
reboot
these folder locations are for the sense based roms or stock
for cyanogen/aosp just need to place the bootanimation in /data/local/
people who cant buy the app root explorer because of recession ( but can buy DHD ) just use super manager ( download from market ) . you have to enable root in settings and enable r/w when asked.
enjoy
thanks - this is cool
I like it a lot
Have installed it
Android Flashed tool is great for this
But you do need to remove battery to reboot or is is stuck with the animation running.
i still don't understand how to install it. Where do i copy and paste the animation from. Because root explorer doesn't explore the sd card does it?
copy it from the location you downloaded it. ( if you are not familiar with root explorer try super manager )
paste to the location
/data/local/ ( since you have cm rom )
for sence rom paste it to location
/system/customize/resource

Are you replacing a system app that is built into the ROM? If so, the way I do it is
Go to System/App
Find the apk you want to replace, long click and click on permissions. Take a note of what the permissions are set as
Rename the apk you're replacing with .bak at the end (it's just a backup!)
Paste the new .apk into the folder
Set the permissions identically to the way it was before
Reboot your phone. Done.

If you're trying to put it in /system/app (for example) from your sdcard, find it on sdcard, long press and choose copy. Then use the ".." folder at the top of root explorer to go back to the "/" (root) directory. Select "system" then "app" and touch the "Mount R/W" button. Then choose "paste". Lastly find the apk you pasted in /system/app, long press it and choose "Permissions". Make them look like this and reboot:
--------Read Write Execute
User:-----X-----X
Group:----X
Others:---X

Some time during an incoming call when you answer the call there isn't any voice, on cancelling the call it didn't cancel and on top bar it keeps displaying a phone icon, click on same just return you back nothing else ..... Click on phone icon to set a new call display an 'unknown call' in progress which I'm not able to disconnect.
During this time if some one again called you up , the caller hears the ring on his set but in real you are not getting any call on your set.
Have to restart the phone to restore the services, after reboot phone icon on top bar removes and you are again able to receive the call.
This happens 2,3 times in 15 calls. First i thought it was an network error but signal strength was good at that time tried on another network face same issue... even reinstall the rom again after clearing cache and all still same issue. Please advise is there any solution?

s2e and Mini with latest Nightly from The Whisp
Hi
I downloaded S2e and installed but it will not run on the Mini with CyanogenMod 10 ( nightly - 02/09/2012 ~ 5m GMT+3 ). Is it supposed to work with this ROM?
I have partitioned the SD card and I have an ext4 partition.
Sorry for being a pain, just cannot figure it out.
Many thanks
Michael

[Q] Stock Clock

hi trying to delete some bloadware i did delete apk clock so i cant set my alarm, can some one help me with this apk or any simple alarm im on stock rom 2.6.3
Download any ROM from the development section, grab the Clock.apk from /system/app, proceed to paste it in your phone (to /system/app) using a root explorer
Yes, I have the apk file here: View attachment DeskClock.apk.
Copy it to /system/app/ and set permissions to rw-r-r.
Or, install it with System Apps Installer (by Traber Software), you need root, but you have root, or not?

View attachment DeskClock.apk
May be this will work
Instead of using any app
Do it manually
1. Download Root Explorer from Play Store
2. Then download the file from the link in the post
Its deskclock.apk
3. Go in Root Explorer
So first go to your root then system /app
(Note: Enable Mount system as R/W in Root Explorer)
4. Then copy the deskclock.apk I gave you and paste in system/app
5. SET PERMISSIONS
Long click on deskclock.apk and click on permissions
You will see three columns
Read Write Execute
You have to set them in the following way
x means you have to tick it
blank means uncheck
Read Write Execute
.....x........x.................
.....x...........................
.....x...........................
6. Click OK
Reboot
Note : in root explorer, in system/app
click on mount system as R/W
not R/O
or you will get error
