Some time during an incoming call when you answer the call there isn't any voice, on cancelling the call it didn't cancel and on top bar it keeps displaying a phone icon, click on same just return you back nothing else ..... Click on phone icon to set a new call display an 'unknown call' in progress which I'm not able to disconnect.
During this time if some one again called you up , the caller hears the ring on his set but in real you are not getting any call on your set.
Have to restart the phone to restore the services, after reboot phone icon on top bar removes and you are again able to receive the call.
This happens 2,3 times in 15 calls. First i thought it was an network error but signal strength was good at that time tried on another network face same issue... even reinstall the rom again after clearing cache and all still same issue. Please advise is there any solution?

Hi
I downloaded S2e and installed but it will not run on the Mini with CyanogenMod 10 ( nightly - 02/09/2012 ~ 5m GMT+3 ). Is it supposed to work with this ROM?
I have partitioned the SD card and I have an ext4 partition.
Sorry for being a pain, just cannot figure it out.
Many thanks

There is many of you that asks how to remove this and that preinstallaed apps in different ROM
When a developer put apps in system/app it can not be removed so easy.
But if you have RomManager or fakeflash´s update.zip there is a other way.
I have attached a zip fil that contains a ordinare ROM installation script that only contains delete and copy.
Download file and unzip on your computer and take a look in the folders
data/app
META-INF/com/google/android/update-script
system/app
If your only wish is to remove a systemapp
edit the file update-script (textfile)
and add line with the filename of what you want to remove:
(example)
delete SYSTEM:app/unwanted.apk
delete SYSTEM:app/unwanted.odex
If you want to install some apps put them in system/app for not installable
and data/app for apps that can be removed as usual
rezip folders and install zip with RomManager NO WIPE!!
cm6 azures you will get a error because not same structure for data/app
never mind just select reboot. Delete will work anyway.
Sometimes there will be .so files in system/libs too. They are little more difficult to know which to remove so that demands more knowledge of the app.
Use for instance Astro filemanager or Estrong to look in system/app for correct filename to delete
Script work even if *.odex not exist.
The fact that when you zip folders it will not be signed so file will not work with adb recovery
Googleapps filenames:
CarHomeGoogle.apk, CarHomeLauncher.apk, com.amazon.mp3.apk,
Facebook.apk, GenieWidget.apk, Gmail.apk, GoogleBackupTransport.apk,
GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk, GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk,
GoogleFeedback.apk, GoogleGoggles.apk, GooglePartnerSetup.apk, GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk, GoogleServicesFramework.apk, googlevoice.apk,
HtcCopyright.apk, HtcEmailPolicy.apk, HtcSettings.apk, kickback.apk, LatinImeGoogle.apk, LatinImeTutorial.apk, Maps.apk, MarketUpdater.apk, MediaUploader.apk, NetworkLocation.apk, OneTimeInitializer.apk, PassionQuickOffice.apk, SetupWizard.apk, soundback.apk, Street.apk, Talk.apk, talkback.apk, Twitter.apk, Vending.apk, VoiceSearch.apk, YouTube.apk, QuickSearchBox.apk, Provision.apk
Other apps:
ADWLauncher.apk, Gallery3D.apk
but filename may be different depending of ROM
Mainpart must exist for using phone normally
Hope that this help to remove "non-removable" systemapps in future.

It may be worth explaining how people:
- can find out the name of the app they want to remove;
- how they know whether to add the suffix of *.apk or *.odex, or both;

Yes you can use some regular filemanager such Astro or Estrongs and look in system/app
Always delete both, script work even if odex file is missing

cool guide!
anyway you have to detect the filename of the apps this way:
enter the recovery mode (in modaco-root-r4: recovery-windows.bat)
now type:
adb shell
mount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
ls -l /system/app
(this will give you the list of system apps, with space usage)
you have to delete both .apk and .odex files (the latter may not exist)
I use to delete the bigger ringtones too, the list is given by
ls -l /system/media/audio/ringtones
it is safe to delete, after you setup the google accounts (ie after first boot):
HTCSetup*
com.htc.Setup*
Stock*
HtcFoot*
NewsRead*
wow its working......thanks dude........

Simple guide from MoDaCo
That must be the hardest way to remove apps i guess Have you seen "modaco guide"? All you have to do is reboot your phone in to recovery mode and type 2-3 commands in ADB. Simple as that.
Thanks anyway for your efforts
Many way för same thing
But with a custom-made zipfile you always remove/install favourite apps without adb. And quick modify new ROM install.

Hmm, did you forget a slash or a letter in the command? because I tried and I could actually delete it.
@kdma : install ROM Manager from the Market, and there is an option inside the app : Reboot into Recovery (easiest way to get into recovery mod)
I also deleted /system/etc/clock* and saved some space again
(of course I don't need Htc clock widgets)

Will this work with android 2.2 on Hero?
Hey I've been looking all over for something like this. I downloaded the zip, added the lines
delete SYSTEM:app/mms.apk
delete SYSTEM:app/mms.odex
delete SYSTEM:app/email.apk
delete SYSTEM:app/email.odex
and rezipped it.
I used Rom Manager and selected install rom from SD card. It rebooted, seemed to execute the zip. But the original email and mms apps are still installed. What am i doing wrong?

The first thing you should do is download the required zip file from modaco (I'm a new user of xda and is not permitted to post outside links here. You may easily find that post "24/May r4 - HTC Legend rooting guide - Now with 1.31.x" in android.madaco.com)
I think many of us rooted the device followed the instructions of Paul. So that file might be already in your hands.
Fastboot and then recovery, as you have done before. Run Recovery-linux.sh (or Recovery-windows.bat, if you use Windows) in a terminal window - your device shall be at the green recovery screen.
Open another terminal window and enter:
./adb-linux shell mount /system
and then you can push, pull or rm file. For example,
./adb-linux shell rm /system/app/Calculator.apk
./adb-linux push abc.so /system/lib

No idea why at all, unless for some reason the files didn't copy over... have you tried flashing again? The script doesn't do anything except remove the old sound files and add the new ones.
Updated this with new FroYo sounds (some Samsung ui sounds). The .zip is not yet CWM3 compatible, that will come soon. If you have changed the TW_Battery_caution.ogg to TW_Battery_caution.ogg.bak or removed it, etc., then you just need to remove that file. This zip includes a TW_Battery_caution.ogg.bak already, as it got included when I pulled the sounds from my phone.
I took the liberty of updating this package.
Changes:
CWM Script now properly erases all sound files in /system/media/audio prior to copying.
Deleted Ding.ogg and Noisy_One.ogg from Ringtones as they are identical to Noises1.ogg.
Edited title tag of Noises1.ogg from Noisey One to Noisy One.

Dialpad and clicking sounds still work here. Make sure your system volume is not set to 0.
This would be awesome if it was made Edify Scrpitagible.. yes.. scriptigible. I just dropped it via root explorer into the /system/ folder
I'm a newbie to flashing with the Epic.... already bricked my wife's phone once. =)
I upgraded to EH17 using Odin and apparently that messed up all her ringtones and notification sounds. I wanted to know if there was a way I could flash this file using CWM 3.1.0.1. I get an error msg saying that amend scripting is not supported.

Take the files out with 7 zip and open a zip file (from a theme!! don't use the srf zip or any other "rom" zips they wipe data) you know works on cwm3. Make a backup and delete all the folders inside besides META-INF then take your old zip and copy the files over to the new zip, of course without the META-INF. Just to clarify you want the new zips META-INF folder only!
Cd's or tapes?
Noob here ....I' am unable to find a zip file which is not a rom file...i wanted to follow the above mentioned procedure of modifying the zip file for using it on CWM3x. Can you tell me which is teh appropriate zip file which i can use for modification so that i can restore the default ringtones of EPIC 4G.
I flashed the legendary rom and saw that many ringtones have been taken off...i want to have stock ringtones back on my system
Grab a flashable theme zip and use that.....
Just make sure inside that zip once you delete out the "theme" contents you leave the META-INF file/folder...
Then make a folder of you own in called
/system
Then inside /system make one called
/media
then inside /system/media/ make one called
/audio
Then place the appropriate folders containing either
/alarms
/notifications
/ringtones
/ui
inside that /audio directory....
Close it up and flash it...
If that is too much for you to follow... Just use this zip I'm providing below..
Blank Flashable
Just open it with WinRaR or WinZip and you will see all the folders in place exactly as I described... Place your contents in the appropriate folders and flash..
followed exactly as mentioned above, downloaded the zip file, opened it and copied the tones as suggested and flashed my phone....the tones did not turn up in the list but i ended up loosing facebook, gmail and couple of other apps !....what could have gone wrong ?

Not sure... There is nothing there in that "Blank Flashable" except for the META-INF file with your standard install scripts and then I created the folders & path to the media/audio/
Not to sure what you could have done to cause FB, GMail and others to be lost as a result of that zip file...
BTW, you did make a Nandroid Backup before flashing as normal rule of thumb correct?
FYI, any other devs, etc... willing to verify the zip I posted has nothing to do with erasing/removing those apps described by the member please feel free to do so...
Hey guys I found a new thread of a new keyboard to our wildfire! ;D It's from Gingerbread(android 2.3), it is really nice and i decided to share to all that dont know it.
Tutorial:
Requirements
-Device must have root priveleges with Superuser
-Android 2.2 Froyo operating system
-The latest “Voice Search” application from the Android Market
-Make a backup of LatinIME.apk in system/app folder just in case!
Clock work mod and rom manager is needed but we are using wildfire and all of us use it so i wont put in requirements.
Bugs:
Vibrate on keypress doesn’t work(nice, don't eat my battery )
How to install:
Download the keyboard from here:
http://briefmobile.com/Fabolous_GBKB_Fix.zip (do not extract the files just copy the zip file how you download it)
Now connect your cellphone to computer and send the .zip file to your sdcard
Disconnect from computer, turn off phone or reboot into recovery(clock work mod) then install zip from sd card>choose zip and fla****/installIt!
Reboot phone and done! Go to messages and create a new message and you will see a new keyboar from Gingerbread(android 2.3)!
Tested and working with cyanogenmod 6.1.0 rc2.

Hi guys , I installed CM7 Rom (from 2.1 JFD) through Rom Manager, it works good, i put update.zip on card, but ddnt put google apps .zip file.
CM7 installed correctly. when i tried to put googleAppsUpdate.zip on card (and removed th CM7Update.zip ) and restarted in recovery from rom manager , i got An Exclamation White triangle Above and Android Man Symbol. and no progress !!!
wht is wrong ?? and how can i Install google Apps update ??
I'm kind of confused here bud, but update.zip is clockwork mod not cm7. By putting the update.zip and applying it via recovery, that would have installed clockwork recovery, and from there you would have needed to install the cm7 zip via recovery to flash cm7. The Google apps zip can be downloaded through your ron manager or via cm7 server, then it needs to he flashed the same way via clockwork recovery (install zip from sdcard).

google apps....are apps!
you can extract all the apps from the zip, and push them to system/app.
if you cant do that, try mounting system in recovery before you flash....if this was the hd2 forum, you will be hot Cheetos right now...flamed! lol

each of , contains another files and folders , can you tell exactly where to put in details ?

First fo all, this is in the wrong forum.
Second of all, I really believe you are probably trying to flash a version of gapps that is not correct for your device.
But either way...
The two compressed folders are
-META-INF
-system
decompress the system folder..maybe put it on your desktop or something. Inside the system folder is a series of different folders. Look for the one that is named "Apps" take that folder and place it on the root of your SDcard. Now, go back onto your phone and use Root explorer to manually move each of the apks from that app folder that you would like...and move them to system>apps. fix the permissions on the apk once you move it so that it has the same permissions as every other apk already in the folder and once you are done moving whichever apps you'd like on your phone and fixing the permissions, reboot your phone.
SOLVED! !!
just booted overcome rom 4.1 series 7 on p1000gsm , but i hate the music player they ported . i need the old stock player with notificarion bar control and lock screen widget , . . . . . and plz help this noob by guiding me thru installation ,
Download the Removed_Apps_v4.1.0 from the Overcome Thread (first page, first post).
Then extract the MusicPlayer.apk to your PC, connect the Tab via USB to your PC and copy the MusicPlayer.apk to the internal SD of your Tab.
Disconnect the USB connection. On your Tab, copy the MusicPlayer.apk to /system/app/ . For this, use a RootExplorer, e.g. the free ES File Explorer and enable first the Root Mode and second the write permissions for the file system in the settings. After copying, i changed the file permissions for MusicPlayer.apk to "rw- r-- r--" (long press on MusicPlayer.apk and then choose "file settings" or so, don't know in english), but just because all the other apps in /system/app/ are set in this way. Don't know, if it is necessary. But it works for me.

well man.thanks i almost flashed it back to stock , what rom are you using btw , do you know how to change the notification bar to stock , overcome's bar aint cool . . .
At the moment, i'm using Overcome 4.1.0. It works good for me, like the previous version of Overcome did.
You can change to stock theme, this includes the notification bar. Just download the Overcome_7_Series_v4.1.0_Stock_Theme_Patch_v2.zip from the Overcome thread and copy the zip to internal SD. Then boot into CWM and install zip from internal sd. Reboot and you have Overcome with stock theme.
