Going back to stock need help! - Motorola Droid Bionic

I need to get my Droid Bionic back to factory stock. I tried flashing the fxd file using rsd lite. For some reason it fails on step 1 everytime. I was on the liberty 2.0 rom but I went back to stock motorola rooted rom using cwm. The thing now is everytime I turn my phone off or restart it, it goes to the fastboot screen and shows some error about the failed flashing process. I can press the power button to turn the screen off then hold the volume keys while pressing the power button to get into the stock recovery. From there I can reboot normally and everything works fine. I am supposed to be selling this thing and I am going to be meeting at verizon so obviously I need to get back to factory. This is very confusing and any help would be greatly appreciated thanks
EDIT: Im on 5.5.886 as well..

Can anyone help with this..?

Did you get anywhere with this? I'm very interested in trying the 901 update and am also on Liberty 2.0 (5.5.886). The data drops have been brutal, and knowing that there seems to be a solution out there for me if I had not rooted just makes it worse. I'll go back to stock unrooted for the solution

Have yall tried the 43v3r root, I think option one to set your phone back to stock? Did you do the 893 update? If so that's why you cannot RSD the phone regarless if it says 886 on liberty ROM. Use 43v3r root and do the option that will put your phone back to stock/43v3r rooted.

No don't do that. For sure don't do that as it will not work. You didn't make a backup of the stock rom when you did the 5.5.893 update before putting a custom rom on?? UGH. If that's the case and you don't have a nandroid backup of 5.5.893 then this is going to be a pain. Not impossible but will cause you some headaches. First thing's first. Go make a nandroid backup of your existing rom install. I'll see if I can put some steps together that'll get you upgraded.

But not with RSD using the FXZ now that he's on 5.5.893, yea? That'd be...bad.

1) http://rootzwiki.com/topic/5484-r3l...he-bionic-v21/page__view__findpost__p__127684
Get that, unzip it, run it, and choose option 1. That will put you back on 5.5.886 stock *system* but will not touch anything else. And will of course, will install permanent root.
2) http://www.multiupload.com/0ZEN69NGO2
Get that, throw it on the SD card, and boot to stock recovery. Flash it.
3) Now you are ready to try flashing 5.9.901 again

Thx to SamuriHL for helping me!!
This should do it for ya...

I flashed the RSD lite files in this link.
Restores you to complete stock.
It works

[Q] Problems rooting after downgrade

So I finally received a replacement Revo due to a bad sensor, anyway...
On the new revo it came with V6 so I followed and successfully downgraded to V4. Anyway, Ive been scouring the forum to find a way to now root it, but so far none of the exploits or tricks Ive found work. S1c with gingerbreak (with and without the usb debugging on-off thing), the manual adb method with rage both dont work. I also could never quite find if the downgraded v4 is rootable, some places it is and some its not. Is there anything Im missing?
Super one click root should work. However, from my experience, it DID freeze on me at a certain point. But it continued after turning off then turning on USB Debugging only once. The other thing you want to consider is turning off UAC if you r using 7, or Vista. I'm assuming that's probably off already since you have successfully downgraded your phone.
So my suggestion is turn on USB debugging, use super one click root, wait for it to freeze up if it does freeze, toggle your USB Debugging setup, then it should continue.
Good Luck.

Ok >< Now I feel like a real idiot. The few times I tried that method (few, hah!) I toggled it thinking i toggle it then its able to do the exploit, so I was switching early, but whe nyou suggested that it had been frozen on step 6 since I left it out of desperation. And voila, once you said to try it and since it was stuck for that long, it worked. Maybe add this as a note somewhere, or at least something along the lines of: Wait a little while (upto 5 min) before toggling debug mode
Edit: I sincerely apologize about the original placement of this, Im never quite sure what goes where in a lot of places, not just here... ><
i just downgraded to v4 w/o any problems but for some reason i can't root
i've tried every method on this site manual/s1c/rootwiki and no luck
i even did the debug off/on while on step 6 on s1c v2.1.1 gingerbreak but when it reach step 7 it just stuck at " waiting for device "
i also did the same thing on s1c v1.7 rageagainstthecage and still no luck
any help is much appreciated
also out of curiousity do you click on " root " or " shell root " for s1c
thanxs
If I remember correctly it was just click root. I can't help on anything else sorry.
I've Revolted have you?
indyred99 thanx for the reply
Do you remember which driver you used?
I installed the lg vzw united whql v2.3.1 zip drivers
tried again twice with s1c v2.1.1 gingerbreak and it didnt root
each time before i tried again i have to restart both my pc and revo
so i tried it the 3rd time and it work like a charm, i got root with in minutes
the only thing i did differently the 3rd time is when it reach to step 6 i turn off debug and turn it back on quickly instead of waiting a few minutes before i turn off debug and turn it back on like i did the 1st 2 times
now i just have to install cwm and flash revolt 1.5
would the cwm on the market work on the revo
No. You have to use the version that Thecubed ported over.
And use s1c 1.7 with the rageagainstthecage exploit.

You download it and place on the external sd card. Do not unzip then install through cwm.

Don't place in a folder, just put it on the sd card. You will need clockwork installed so use revotoolkit. Then wipe data inside clockwork.

Thanx again mtmichealson for all the help and a great ROM

[Q] And why did I leave my X2 again?...

Hey guys,
Ok, so here's the deal: I ruined my X2, completely unrelated to MODing, and opted for a 4G Bionic. Cool phone, but a totally different world from the X2. I can't even gain Root status. From what I gather this is mainly because I am on the new 5.9.902 build, which requires me to revert to an older version, gain root, flash forever root, THEN update? This is probably totally off base but any info is appreciated...Thx
Rooting 902 is easy:
Get the latest 5.5 moto-drivers here... USB and PC Charging Drivers -Motorola Mobility,Inc. USA
Make sure your device is in USB debugging mode, attach it to your PC.
Then use this to root.. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/63864500/motofail_windows.zip (for windows pc only)
Extract the entire zip file, and execute “run.bat”.

Thanks bro, I'm on it now....
Alright, the problem is that when I open Motofail #1 my phone isn't recognized in "Charge Only" mode and #2 if I switch to "USB Mass" it roots but gives an error of not being able to push SU...
Any time man.

You in usb debugging mode and also turn on apps from unknown sources.
Still nothing. In Motofail, while it's doing it's thing it says things like "more than one device emulator" and a bunch of errors. IDK. What about if I Flashed to an earlier version? I read somewhere that you must have been rooted in a previous build to gain root in 902. True?
No. Motofail works flawlessly.
You have your phone booted normally?
---------- Post added at 11:11 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:08 PM ----------
Make sure usb debugging and appa from uknown sources are checked in setting>>>apps>>>development
Try using rear usb port too.
Yeah dude, just brought it home from Verizon. I haven't done anything...
You downloaded all the files to your pc, right?

To be on the safe side, reinstall the drivers.
Here's Moto's page where the most updated drivers are kept: http://developer.motorola.com/tools/usb_drivers/handset_usb_driver/
After you've reinstalled, reboot your PC.
While your PC is rebooting, ensure that USB Debugging is enabled, as well as enabling "Unknown sources".
Once your PC is all the way back up, plug in your Bionic, set it to Charge Only, then run Motofail on it. Motofail absolutely works on 5.9.902
I've gone through every method I can find short of flashing back, which now that I think about would have been a bad idea I think. I've even tried to manually achieve root by Command Prompt (MS, which is the same thing as Terminal Emulator...right?) And PowerShell, also Microsoft, but i'm not familiar enough with the line commands or what they're supposed to look like...but i'm studying. This will not get me down!! Are there even any decent stable ROM's for the Bionic?
****ty Bionic stock...I CAN'T ROOT!!!
Sorry, didn't mean to quote myself...
****ty Bionic stock...I CAN'T EVEN ROOT!!!
I've used Motofail several times since I got my Biionic earlier this year and it has worked flawlessly each time. Just incase you havent seen this link, this may help point you in the right direction and give you links to the correct drivers and the latest version of Motofail:

And Eclipse 2.2 of Eclipse .904 work great, you can find them at:
http://eclipserom.com
I've had no problem rooting my Bionic (also a defector from X2). I've tried Eclipse 2.2 and Axiom ICS on my Bionic. I haven't tried Gummy or other ICS builds.
Not sure why I had a problem switching from Unsafe to Safe in Safestrap but I lost the ability to toggle (into safe) multiple times. What I saw of Eclipse it looked to be a very good gingerbread based rom. Too bad I couldn't keep it running. Axiom ICS seemed quite nice, too, but I've been afraid to toggle back into safe mode to continue using it.
Right now I'm running stock rooted .902.
Actually I was able to toggle back to safe mode this time. Back into Axiom...

Froyo 2.2 NVFlash Files

Anyone know where I can track down the 2.2 NVFlash files? Everything everywhere seems to be for honeycomb or pointing to dead spam links. I'm trying to downgrade from honeycomb (so obviously cwm images won't work) to diagnose whether a compatibility issue is related to honeycomb or the device.
Try here: http://d-h.st/users/TheManii/?fld_id=1682#files
looking for same thing.. I might be stupid but didn't find in link provided
PM "TheManii" and ask him to add the file(s) you require.
Thanks, yeah, the tools link didn't have anything. The streak 7 folder on the same site had a few files, but not full flash (just the bootloader and recovery, but without repartitioning and having the system.img it's a no-go). I'll try PMing. Thanks.
I have it, but I'm not going to share....
just kidding, I"ll get it up on my Google Drive, this weekend, and I'll have TheManii host it on his place as well.

I'm gonna build a proper set of NVflash payloads soon (though I did promise to do that months ago)
I've nearly cleared my to-do list though, so giveen's version should suffice for now

Thanks, I've downloaded it and I'll try it when I get home. I found some of those nvflash images finally last night on some slow antiquated file sharing site, but I figured I'd have to try to put everything together (and probably screw up on that a few times in the process). After doing a bunch of things last night I got to the point where it wouldn't boot past the dell logo, so I reverted everything back and can now try it clean again. I'll post again if its successful (or not) in reverting from honeycomb to froyo -- hopefully not doing this until 3am again.
I've uploaded it here for the time being.
If/when I get proper payloads made I'll remove it.
Thanks Guys. I tried this last night and it worked great. I did end up putting on the stock t-mobile 2.2 package afterwards since the nvflash image had some things removed and I wanted to do stock testing, but it did work. Of course, after all that it didn't solve my Bluetooth compatibility issue with my stereo, but at least I know it's a hardware compatibility issue and not an OS one (though I was hoping for it to be the OS).
Thanks again!
dell streak 7, boot loop.. want to restore back to 2.2 (t-mobile)

I don't know if it is me or what. I flashed all those files with NVflash, (to get back to froyo) and the darn thing doesn't load up. I can get into NVflash mode and fastboot, so I know it isn't bricked... It has to be something I am doing wrong. Also i don't know if it is worth noting, I have windows 7 (64 bit)

Anyone feel like helping a fellow HTC user out

SO i almost got no sleep last night since I tried to flash/root/unlock my phone to put google play edition rom on my htc one sprint (I now know there is no such rom) so I accidently deleted something and messed up phone, luckily a very nice guy helped me out and sideboot a custom rom similar to the offical stock htc one sense 5 OS. anyways I found a backup on my computer that I made and now i'm looking to get it on my phone and flash back to my original OS that came out of the box.
I am really new to this so if anyone can chat me through this ill be on google plus right now

this is the Google Play rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2371960
any questions just ask
If you want to use your backup thats on your pc just make a backup of the rom you have now then go on the pc and find the folder on your SD card it will be in (TWRP) or (CWM) and paste the backup from your pc into that folder with the one you just made... go into recovery and restore....done!
Download the RUU
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=22979706399752931
Then unzip, and run from your PC. It will put it back to 100% stock OS. You plug your phone into the USB cable before running it, it will cause your phone to reboot and install to factory. Once it is completely done, about 10 minutes later, you will be able to activate it, and have to run the Over The Air (OTA) update.
Good Luck!
We got it fixed

What to do if you bootloop?

Title says it all. For people like myslef that sometimes play with fire and try de-bloating too much or maybe flash a bad Xposed module what can we do if we get stuck in a bootloop.
I've seen people say you should keep the stock and rooted versions of whatever version firmware your on the External SDcard.
So lets say you bootloop and you have the stock and rooted images on your phone...what then? Will we still be able to get into download mode by plugging in the USB cable and volume up? Whoever, knows for a fact please advise the steps to get the phone working again.
Appreciate any and all feedback

At a minimum you would want stock image on your Internal, not external.
