[Q] [Problem] can't install app2sd

I dont get this... when I follow this I get

I dont know what I'm screwing up here...
when usb debug is on and what ever the mode(charge, or sd mounted) I still end up with the same...
Дa, I'm rooted with xRecovery and the rom is stock nothing more...
I dont know,I'm thinking to get a custom rom but there are way too many for a basic user like me to chose from...I just want more space in that thing
p.s. I read that when you leave gps on its not consuming the battery unless some app starts to use it. Is this true? I've lost the phone like 2 times and I would like to use the gps tracking thing in that case...

Most custom 2.2 Roms are easy to install and use, may i suggest Froyobread as its what i use and i have tried most of them and find it the best. Apps2sd working, battery use very good and max 108 free RAM, avg 70-90mb. Just Backup current stock in xrecovery and install custom zip from sd, place Froyobread in folder called roms along with all others and then its easy to keep track of them. Root is pretty much useless without custom rom.

You will get all the help you need here at xda. if you dont like the rom you can just restore your stock rom from xrecovery. if you brick your phone you can use the repair function in pc companion and it will unroot and restore factory rom.
And they(the shop)prob wont help now your rooted and have xrecovery installed.

Ok so I got a hackdroid now so if I come back to stock I'll revive the thread.(also made a conclusion that for app2sd to work it has to be ext3 format partition. well atleast for me...)

hey i recently rooted my phone...installed xrecovery...even backed up my data...and try to install this custom Rom...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=964223 i followed the exact steps and everything..at last when i did reboot....it said will take 1-5 mins...and half an hour was over ..and i dint know wat to do so i removed my battery and tried..still the screen was stuck at Sony Ericsson ..i tried to go to xrecovery also but couldnt..tried pc companian and i still remain on the same page.(sony ericsson screen).How to recover my phone now pls telll ??

You need to read carefully.
The ROM *requires* nAa kernel to work and should be flashed in CWM recovery.

flash this with flashtool. this is stock rom for x8 untouched so you have to root it and make other steps again!

yes it will get fixed using flash tool. or through pc companion or sony update service

the rom is for nah pc companion should work ,,, or DL flashtool and the x8 ftp file if you whant change your baseband to ,, root and copy paste the xreco again happy soft brick my friend enjoy
you can still recover your back up after you install xreco

Not xRecovery. Just root with x8toolbox, unlock bootloader, install a kernel and flash the ROM in CWM recovery. xRecovery is old, it's not used anymore.

1) unlock your bootloader! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1267273
2) flash a kernel
3) wipe data via CWM
4) install rom
5) enjoy

[Q] PLEASE HELP : weird problem /:

the problem that happend to my device is :
1- my note was about to turn off cause no much battery left . i was working on the device without suffering from any problem . and then my phone turned off because the battery is drained so i put my phone on the charger quickly and pressed the power button and surprised because it was updating my android system. a picture describing the beginning of the problem

the phone stucks at that picture ^^ without any completion . i started to think about givin' up ! ( like someone bout to die lol ). so then i removed the battery for a couple of minutes cause i thought that pop-up would disappear after what i've done . but after restarting my phone that update pop-up showed up again . i tried again .. but the same ting happen . so i decided to try PLAN B .
2- so here i tried a couple of tries to restart . and finally the update message disappeared and the is stuck at the start up screen!!! without any response. i decided to enter the recovery mode . but it didn't work ! i saw an android robot for seconds and then restarts automatically ! . so i'm thinkin about step 3 righ' now .
3- at this point . i decided to install an another rom which is JellyBean 4.1.2. my phone originally working on official jellybean 4.1.2 also with root . after i tried installing the rom through ODIN . the install failed . i noticed that my phone is identitfied by my computer but the battery is not
charging . i tried to install 4.0.3 but also failed! and then tried gingerbread! and it also didn't work. and that's what happening right now
any solution guys ? i really would appreciate your help .

now that you have tried so many different versions of android... try installing Philz kernel using odin and then try to get into recovery mode. If you are able to, then make a full wipe "Clean before new rom install" in Philz recovery and then either install a custom rom or boot into download mode from advanced menu and flash the rom again

SGS slow booting and all crashing

Hi,
I have problem with SGS. When I got it from my friend there was Android 2.3.3. When i turn on the phone, booting took maybe 30minutes, then all apps started to crash. So I did wipe data and wipe cache in system recovery but it didnt solve the problem. Then I flash over Odin official firmware but still booting takes about 30minutes and all apps are crashing. I tried to flash three files rom via odin too but it didnt help. So please help, i really dont know what to do now, i tried everything
Phone is non-rooted, there is official 2.3.6 but all is crashing so it is unusable.

yes you can, use odin and the download menu of the phone (turn it of, then turn it on and press volume down + home + power buttom for a few sec)
there are a few guids in this forum how to do that, just search for it

The nub that sits between windows is gone, and now i cant change the ratio between apps or switch their positions!

If so and your device does not show it ,
Have you Disable any processes,/ or Xposed //kernel /rooted or an app that breaked the function etc .?
I have stock Rom N920C ,not rooted and" it" work fine !
If you on stock Rom ,maybe re flashing your latest correct Rom for your device , might work ?
Factory reset might also ,but i found most my cases ,when i had issues, factory reset hardy / did not fix ,any system/ Rom / TouchWiz related bugs ..issues.

Yes thats what I'm talking about. It is a stock 920I from Singapore running the AOJD November security update, not rooted.

hi,
well i know what i would have done Reflash my latest correct stock rom ? Then check to see if it's sorted our .But then its your choice .As stated a factory reset might help ,but i found most of time i had to do a reflash .I guess some how something is broken ?
also i would have check on other user of same rom / carrier etc if they have this issue .
if not i would same its not a bug but something /app broke it .
Eg. i found that when i had Lux auto brightness app enabled i could not install sideloaded apps etc.The app broke installing /sideloading.
i changed to Velis and issue fix ..just something to think about .
the choice is yours .
