is there any rom based on desire's gingerbread base???
Good question

Pretty bad question if you ask me. If only there was a forum specific to development one could search for roms in.
What is this... search you speak of. Lol
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
there are roms based on desrie froyo not on desire gingerbread..
and i searched what i speak of.
If you mean pure Desire w/Gingerbread - which is Sense 2.1 - no, there are none.
All the ports are Sense 3+ hybrids and pures.
All made from Desire ports for other phones.
If you mean those - I counted 4 on the front page of Development forum.
yeap you are right..
to cut short .., i mean porting this one..

The answer is probably. Will require a crap load of work. The ins and outs of all these android devices are kinda similar. Something like this is not going to happen any time soon anyway.
I'm just fed up waiting for the SGS2 to come out hehe.

@Spastic909 take care with your language kid . First of all I see that you have a HTC vision or G2 , or what is called , which is a US verision of desire Z, made BY (HTC) so you can use an euro rom for sense , as for other devices , first of all I think that you need a qualcomm cpu in the phone , and second , a lot of skill to port .
What rom for the Captivate is the most stable and reliable? Rooted my girlfriends phone and just wanted to get some recommendations.
No one can answer this since thats a matter of opinion. I suggest Native rom's. But with native roms you give up on features (see matter of opinion). Go to the dev section read away on the roms look at the pics and make your choice, as always read read read. Good luck
Andromeda3 (sorry i had to say it)

As a developer of A3 I'd say Andromeda3. As a user, I'd say the same. However, its a 2.2 ROM. I think the cool kids are using 2.3 now

"Like the Desire S software update, the software update for the Incredible S will bring with it Sense 3.0, along with its goodies like a 3D launcher, and a widget-izied lock screen. The Android version will also be bumped to 2.3.5, and will also bring Google Talk with video chatting capabilities to the handset."
How come no one have posted these links?
So, looks like HTC won't ignore the IncS owners! For now...
*edit*
(damn, just noticed someone posted this in another thread, but w/e, this way more ppl will see it!)

Read the twitter link from PaulOBrian.
"So Saga and Vivo (Desire S and Incredible S) have official Sense 3.0 builds now. "
If the builds are done, it shouldn't be long before they release it.
But then again, you never know with HTC. For me it seems like they're pretty slow at updating their phones...

Better slow and solid, than fast and buggy
HTC gives the word SLOW another meaning.

Agreed. I had the original Samsung Galaxy before the Incredible S. The updates from Samsung were buggy and slow to non-existent. That was what prompted me to move to HTC since they seemed much better.
So why does desire s have it and inc s doesn't? They are virtually the same.
And saying there are a lot of phones not having it is a non-sense argument. VIVO is not an old phone. So it is our right to expect better service

Dude we have gb, and sense 3 is coming...
Quit your *****in.
What's nonsense is your incessant whining.
We will also get ics I'm sure.
Htc is one of the best for updates, if you're complaining about this then you probably just shouldn't own an Android phone.
As long as its quality, time is something that can be wait.

Well, if they continue updating this rapidly we'll have cm9 before official sense 3.0 x)
Anyway, anyone who's gotten the update yet?

As someone with 16000 S-On Im really glad to hear this .. as for the banter on HTC's speed or lack of for updates ... HTC builds are cranked out faster unofficial or official than any other phone models I own ... Normally I don't care much for official rollouts but as there's no s off working for me atm ,knowing that there is confirmed rollouts coming I'm quite happy to wait ... Definate worth waiting for solid n stable than quick n buggy fota...
Can't wait for this to hit, Mike will have a new base for his Android Revolution HD Rom.
Yes that's fantastic news. Hopefully with the new official Sense 3 ROM, more custom ROMS will be available for us IncS users instead of having devs and cooks port ROMs from other handsets. Perhaps soon we'll have more choice of custom sense ROMs! =)
Yeaa, can't wait. Hope they don't put the project on hold, because of the resources they need for ICS device updates.
Got bored of sense 2.1. The 3d launcher looks amazing.
Does anyone know if the dialer issue got fixed in 2.3.5?

Id asked HTC and they replied that Incredible S would surely get a Sense 3.5 update but they didnt have exact schedule now

In fact sense 3.5 will use less system resources than sense 3.0 and thats why devices using MSN8255 can get this update
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA App
Does anyone know the exact differences between Sense 3.0 and 3.5? I've tried both ROMs before and there a few UI changes (e.g the tick and the checkbox is different) and you can jump from dialer to contacts, favorites etc directly from the jog dial and the bottom.
So having come to the note from my inspire or desire HD whatever you prefer to call it, I still keep up with the forums as I still have the phone. I noticed on the DHD dev forum there is a rom called PACMan.. its a 4.1.2 based ROM but the beauty is its called PACMan because its Paranoid Aokp Cyanogen rolled into one. I flashed it on my inspire yesterday and let me tell you I was highly impressed... the best parts of all the leading ROMs rolled into one. My question is would this be something possible for our notes as well?

Possible, sure....why not ?
Check this and this,(although I'm not sure if the former qualifies)

Why all those noobs asking for impossible things!?!?
Man wake up please! Open you eyes!! There'll be problems porting Sense 5 EVEN on a Sensation!!!
Plus there's no fully working Sense 4 roms as of now here for the N1 and the stock Jelly Bean has issues too (see Camera not working properly, etc.).
And you're asking on the wrong section, this is for roms and development only! Not for theoretical purpose!
Moderators please move or eliminate this thread...
There is a possibility with a proper base... but light years away.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be grumpy, it's just that there're already too many problems with the current roms for the old N1... :silly:
i think that N1 is too old to port sense 5, so with Jb have many problem, for example camera, reciently port sense4.
Nope

Sense 4 barely works, no way sense 5 will work. The Nexus one also lacks the amount of internal storage needed to fully run sense 5.
