Can someone help me !!
I had some problems with the phone after deleting some system files (and the phone was looping at boot....) so I reflashed it with odin using Q1_20110914_16GB.pit and N7000XXKKA_N7000OXXKK5_N7000XXKK5_HOME.tar.md5 ..
The phone restart booting normally and everything is working except when it boot, just before the Samsung animation, I have a yellow triangle with the exclamation mark just below the "Galaxy Note GT-N7000"
the device is rooted and CWM installed on the device...
Boot the phone into download/odin mode. If it says that you flashed a custom ROM then you *hmhm* "successfully" incremented your custom flash counter.
Did you take a wrong rom when flashing with odin? Was your phone an AUT phone (since the rom you took I believe is an AUT rom)?

The yellow exclamation means it's been rooted. That way a service center knows you've rooted your phone, potentially voiding your warranty.
argh... my fault, please close this thread !!!
I guess I should have read a little bit more this forum before posting my question !!!
I'm new to android... .was playing with iphones before
Can somebody close / delete this thread I hate to pollute forums

This, my friend, is wrong. The exclamation mark (together with an incremented custom flash counter) means you flashed a non-approved on non-official rom or parts of it onto your device using the ODIN tool. No matter if rooted or not.
The device will continue to work inside certain parameters, its really only (as mentioned for a service rep for example) a visual and very obvious way to mark your device as having no warranty due to fiddling around with it in non-appoved ways. Thats all.

Is this permanent - can it be reset in future ?

I had a big problem since last night. My only hope is you XDA Geeks
the problem is about crashed galaxy note and not flashing a rom via ODIN.
Please read the story below I went through.
I rooted it by using CMW, and made a back-up via CMW so that I can use it in case of any disaster.
After having successful rooting on my phone, I deleted some factory applications such as social hub. Then, TwLauncher did not work
Because of having the "back-up", I restored the phone by using CMW.
However, after restoration finished and it restarted, the screen stopped on here: "SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE - N7000"
After that screen, I tried to start boot-up screen by pressing Volume-up+Power+main_button. However, it didn't worked.
Because of that, I started the "downloading screen" by pressing Volume-Down+Power+main_button so that I can flash by ODIN. But Odin could not flashed.
Although I tried every option on the ODIN and stock roms, ODIN did not allow me to flash a rom.
The flashing process stops on downloading screen. You can see the last two picture on below.
And you can see existing situation on my phone with the pictures below
I am not sure if it is bricked. What I want to do is only flashing a stock rom.
Please help me to solve it. Thanks for all.
p.s I have also two gingerbread and one ics stock roms.
N7000XXLQ2_N7000XXLPT_N7000XEULP4_HOME.tar
N7000XXKKA_N7000CPWKK3_N7000XXKK5_HOME.tar.md5
CODE_N7000XXLC1_CL1003701_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5
So it is hanging up at the factoryfs.img and not going on past it??
That's not a good sign. That probably means it damaged the emmc.
What ROM were you on when you did a restore in CWM??
Yes, exactly it is hanging up at factoryfs.img
I hope not damaged.
I was latest ICS stock rom. I do not remember codes.
Thanks

That's your problem then. You did a restore in CWM in stock ICS. There are threads about this. You should have flashed AbyssKernel, rebooted recovery, and then restored the backup.
You are bricked. The restore in CWM activates the MMC_Cap_Erase command just like wiping and it looks like it did it to yours. There is a thread on here that MIGHT fix your phone by redoing the partition but it probably won't run great.
Your best bet is to get it to a samsung service center and get the motherboard replaced. Do you have a warranty? Is there a yellow triangle on the main boot screen? I'm sorry....

I hope the warranty still valid because of rooting. What do you think?
When I try Kies, there seems no movement on phone screen and kies shows the following screen and no process.
Mate i say use this link to recover ur mobile http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26285877&postcount=12 but ul lose some memory due to bad sectors.... for that u use triangle away first to remove the yellow triangle then flash a stock gb and then take it to samaung service....

That screen doesn't look promising if it is just sitting there. But, if you can ONLY get to that one screen when you turn it on then w/o them digging deep they really can't tell if it is rooted or not that I am aware of. Just take it there and find out.

Hey, I am currently in this same situation but I was able to reset the binary download count to show CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: NO and CURRENT BINARY: SAMSUNG OFFICIAL
But rest of the things are still same. On start I still get the message that says "Firmware upgrade has encountered an issue. Please try recovery mode in Kies and try again". So is this fine enough to get warranty?

But it needs device to boot up normally :crying:
Hello,
I own a galaxy note n7000, rom ICS xxlpy, since a little bit than 1 week.
for some reason, I would like to root it, and followed this tuto :
http://www.galaxynote.fr/rooter-facilement-les-roms-stock-ics-sans-cwm-triangle-jaune-t4995.html
it is a french traduction from a tuto found here.
anyway, after having followed each step, i obtained no error, nothing which was different from the tuto.
after a reboot, my galaxy was unable to boot.
I was blocked on the first screen : samsung galaxy note GT-N7000 black scree, text in white color.
today : I can go in recovery, I can go in download mode, but I cannot boot.
so I have decided to send it to repair. it si why I need advices :
- what is exactly the yellow triangle ? where I can see it, how I can check if I have it or not (what manipulation to do to see it ?)
- how can I test my flash counter ?
I was on ICS stock, but I don't know if the manipulation in the Tuto had increase or not the flash counter ?
when I am in download mode, I can see : custom binary download : no, current binary : samsung Official. is it enough to get warranty ?
any advice allowing me to get back my device, with the maximum luck to get it repaired would be apreciate.
thanks
Olivier
My understandings are the yellow triangle shows up on the splash screen when it says galaxy note before boot animation and it is if you has a custom kernel installed, when you go to download mode it would say you are not on samsung official and have a flash counter so if it says 0 then you have nothing to worry about.
It sounds though that your device may not be fully bricked if you can access recovery and download mode, I would try to flash chainfires cfroot kernel for your firmware so the LPY v5.5 which is on his thread here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331784
If it works it will increase you flash counter and you will see the yellow triangle on start up.
Have you tried to use PC Odin to go back to stock GB?
Hi,
- so the yellow triangle should be visible on the normal splash screen, which we can see just after having switch on the device ?
I do't have this triangle.
- no, I don't have tried to revert to GB with odin.
to be honnest, I am affraid since I have bricked ( my be soft bricked ?) my device.
it is also why I ask for advice
may be I can try to unbrick it, but what are my chance to be successfull ?
if I unbrick it, this device will bne reliable ? it is strange that following the Tutorial, with no error message, I have bricked it, after the reboot.
( I mean the bug which seem to be in the kernel or in ??? which has helped tp brick my device, will b fix with custom ? or I will be able to brick it easily again, in all case because my device is bad ?)
so many question in my head
thanks
Olivier
You could try to flash a pre rooted gb rom in pc odin. If flash goes through successfully then you should be ok but if it hangs on fctoryfs then you may have a damaged emmc and will need to send away for repair. It just sounds like you are soft bricked. I'm not sure what thread has the pre rooted gb roms but last time I flashed one there was no yellow triangle. I can not remember who at the moment but someone in the criskelo v7 ics thread has a link in his signature with instructions and all files needed.

Just go to dr ketans thread in developer section and get the stock rootable GB roms.

Hi you are in a very similar situation in which i was in several days back. you can check out my video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WH--qVK2h3g&feature=plcp
I have my Galaxy Note fully functional now. Since your flash counter is 0 and with "Official Samsung" and not seeing the yellow triangle may allow you to claim warranty. To get it fixed:
Do not try to flash any GB/ICS via odin or anything. DO NOT use CWM also.Basically DO NOT try to do anything yourself because currently you are NOT fully bricked so Samsung will be able to fix it for u under warranty. Just go to your local Samsung Service Center and tell them you had done a factory reset from Settings.(Make up a story but do not tell them tht you attempted to root it otherwise they will not repair it). Hopefully if you have warranty they should fix it. They fixed mine by replacing the motherboard because in my case it was the eMMC bug. Since your phone has similar symptoms they should also fix it for you. Hope this helps. Cheers
Hey all request for great help,
I think I got brick, a great one.
I was running KingDroid v7 with Notecore Kernel but wanted to upgrade to it in KingDroid v7.1.
So I have flashed Abyss 4.2 Red pill Original logo 4.2. after wiping through jbroid but when reboot in recovery I have received Yellow Triangle ! Icon under Samsung Galaxy Note - GT-N7000.
After that I have done all three wipes and flashed again Kingdroid v7 from SD card because I forgot to move KingDroid v7.1 in Internal SD Card.
During KingDroid v7 I have selected NoteCore 9 and LRK and 240ppi like something.
After completing the procedure I have restarted my phone but I found again Yellow Triangle ! Icon under Samsung Logo. I have waited around 10 to 15 minutes but could not see any of reaction so I thought this would not work on my device. So I have again removed battery and by using Vol Up + Main Button + Power and started in CWM.
I flashed again Abyss 4.2 and reboot into recovery. This time I have flashed LRT (Under LRB second Modem) with Speedmod v13 after doing all three wipes.
Here problem comes, after completion of compete procedure, I have reboot the system and waited for 10 to 15 minutes for starting the device but I am just stuck to the Yellow Triangle ! logo under Samsung.
After an half hour I have tried to go for recovery but it is not starting any thing rather just Yellow Triangle Icon !.
Tried many time and still trying to go for recovery mode but nothing happening.
Please do something... help me out....
I am in great tense... I thing its a big brick bug for me...
Thanks to all supporters in advance.....
Can you boot into download mode? If yes, then try flashing stock GB rom for your region (India I guess)

Hi Sahil, we appreciate your efforts for keeping the forum organized but you should understand his state of mind, he is assuming his phone is bricked and in these scenarios people do this kind of things, let him resolve his issue first and then you can report one of his thread. Moreover his threads are not in same section.

How I have solved my Problem???
Hello Dear...
I have resolved the issue…
I have followed the below procedure...
1. Go and have coffee after keeping your device in charging first.
2. During this download Dr. Ketan's pre-rooted GB Rom
3. After this remove your battery once.
4. Press Vol Up + Main Button + Power
5. You are now going for download mode so press Vol up to flash Custom Rom.
6. Start Odin in your PC or Laptop.
7. Connect your Cable.
8. Wait until you will receive Yellow color in ID:COM. (Check ticked Reboot + F Reset Time)
9. Locate the downloaded GB Rom in PDA of Odin.
10. Recheck each step properly followed or not. And now press start.
Please take the expert advise before flashing anything, you are about to lose 30k under your kicked ass...

Just go to Download mode (vol down+home + Power) and let me tell what is Flash counter.
First of all this is not 'Triangle Icon bug' Triangle happens when you flash custom things with Odin, Bug is called when something happens in abnormal way during normal/ routine procedure.
Solution you have wrote is just confusing. I think still you are not clear what issue was and what you have solved.
Just presence of Triangle can't stuck your device.
Triangle which was appeared was due to flashing Custom kernel with Odin, it has no relation with stucking.
Your Flash counter must be high still., Nothing method mentioned above can clear it.
Can you tell me
What was issue you had ?
What you solved?

I think it was 1 binary something. . .
I don't know what I have done to my device yesterday but it was like this.
1. I have been advised to install the kernel using Odin and I have flashed NoteCore 13v STD using Odin on PC. (KingDroid Rom v7)
2. I have restarted the device and the Triangle Icon was there. I didn't care about it but I have noticed that my battery was not working well even.
3. So I thought to flash NoteCore v13 OC as it consumes very less voltage compared to the other devices. This time I have used CWM to flash as I felt Odin would be dangerous.
4. After flashing I again found the same battery drainage. So I thought to go on the same basic kernel of KingDroid Rom as it was better than NoteCore for battery life.
5. I flashed Abyss Redpill Original Logo 4.2. and started wiping everything and installed 240ppi something and KingDroid bluetheme. (This was one problem because I need to select either among this.)
6. After completion of this process I felt that the device is not starting. As it was stuck to the Samsung Logo.
7. I removed battery and booted it in recovery mode. Flashed Jboid kernel cleaning. Flashed Abyss Rdpill 4.2
8. Again flashed the KingDroid v7 and in Aroma installer Selected Speedmod Kernel and LRT (under LRB) modem.
9. Flashed by selecting other options and given system reboot.
10. I was stucked here. After I waited half hour but there was not reaction and started posting on XDA.
11. Solution was made and I thought its a time for awareness...
I dont remember much about other things but whatever I know I have shared with you.
After flashing GB + Rooted and after it updated to the ICS.
Everything working well but would like to know in deep what mistake I have done as I read and only after I do flashing..
Please enlighten me...
Let me know your other questions.... Please give thanks if I am increasing my interest bit here...

And yes earliest clear your flash counter, just removing triangle have no value in presence of raised flash counter.

Just use triangle away to reset counter.
If you dont know where is thread, go to 'toolbox' on my signature and look for it.
Till you don't clear count, your warranty is no more valid.
Triangle appears when you flash custom stuff with PC Odin, and you have flashed kernel, thats why you had it. Which was removed as you have flashed stock ROM. but flash counter won't remove with it.
So your issue was not yellow triangle, but bad flashing which made your device stucked. But you have flashed kernel with Odin that why it was counter product along with stuck. Once you have flashed GB ROM and wiped your stuck was removed as well triangle too. But in real sense your counter was not reset (b'coz it is not possible with that)
Now you can better understand, why your title and solution was misleading. and I forced to ask to delete it.
Very well said by sr ketan.... Getting the yellow triangle under boot logo and getting stuck there is a different thing.

I just rooted my phone yesterday and after that, I got this annoying problem.
Every time I boot my phone, there's this yellow triangle with an exclamation mark under Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000.
I see nothing wrong with my phone except that it drains battery quickly. I just flashed Ultimate N7000 XXLSC JellyBean today and it's still there.
What do you guys think is wrong with my phone? Did I somehow rooted it differently?
Be nice, I'm kind of new with rooting and flashing roms.

Ok, this has been covered here many times. Samsung has built a binary counter on their devices to detect unofficial software flashed. That is why, you have to flash via mobile Odin and root with Philz Kernel on stock recovery to avoid that.
Now, you can use a jig to remove the yellow triangle: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1354888
If you don't have a jig, then you can use this app by chainfire: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494114

OTA Update will not fix the problem...
That means you root your phone with a custom firmware...
You have to use Triangle Away by Chainfire. It removes Custom Binary and sets firmware to Official so you don't have the triangle sex with you every time you boot up your phone

hi, I have samsung galaxy tab GT-P7500 with a existing triangle exclamation point, I have tried the Chainfire app from google and I also reflashed with a new rom to avail. its still there any here. (I also tried to see if there was a special jig for the device I couldnt any)
Hi. I've got a Galaxy Note N7000, currently on SlimBean 4.2.2. I flashed this ROM in the stock Samsung recovery so the flash counter didn't rise, nor the yellow exclamation mark did appear on the boot screen and that's because because I didn't use Odin, not even once with this phone.
Now I'm selling the phone and I want to flash latest Samsung official ROM and I'm asking how to do it without raising the flash counter or making the yellow exclamation mark appear? Is it ok to flash some Samsung official ROM straight from SlimBean 4.2.2 using Odin in a way that the phone would appear like it have never been modded in the first place?
If you don't have a raised flash counter or yellow triangle (which it sounds like you don't) then I would format system/data/preload etc then boot to download mode and flash stock rom with pc odin. In fact you probably don't even need to do the formats but just an extra precaution

yellow triangle only shows when you flash a custom ROM or kernel (or root a stock rom).
for stock roms, it doesnt show.
and for reset the flash counter, use triangle away (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.triangleaway)
good luck
Thanks for the replies. So if I flash Samsung official ROM with Odin, the flashh counter will not rise and the yellow exclamation mark will not appear AND the phone will look like it has never been modified AND my warranty will still be valid, i.e. Samsung would accept my phone for repair if it ever gets broken.?
