You don't need to unzip the file.

. its asking for a password.
I cant do anything with it

I'm not understanding this. If you have the correct FXZ file it comes to you with a tar.gz extension. You don't ever need to do any extracting yourself. You point RSD Lite to the file and RSD Lite will do the rest.
Are you able to provide us with a screenshot of this? There's no documented proof of RSD Lite ever wanting a password to do anything.

no, the 1.26 works fine. the 1.83 is untested. ATT / RSD 5.31 only. The 1.83 may **** up /preinstall but I doubt it. Certainly shouldn't brick.
Is there an original, stock unmodified SBF 1.83 available?

Thank you so much for that link... I can use the SBF that's up at the top for 1.83 right?
Hah, this is awesome. Great job!
That's sweet! I've been thinking about this but I wasn't sure it was possible as they're signed. Can you write a tutorial on the process or post links on it. Thanks!
Thanks for providing that really useful link!

Ok, thank you for input on 1.83. Unfortunately it wont be possible unless I figure out how to write my own header file. File will be removed.
Some good info.

sorry, thought it may be of use! is it a little odd these recovery files for fastboot arent in sbf format? maybe the usual `leakers' are looking for sbfs when these zip's may do the same job?

If that's a fully restorable system, we could swap out the radio image for the one in the OTA update, and the system image could be anything we want, right?
Or will the system image need to be signed for this to work?
apologies pressing save many too much

Changing the .zip will make it unflashable in stock recovery, unless someone has a key signer for a Droid3 . . . and I'm guessing not Or is this truly something that will work with
Code:
moto-fastboot flashall
However, if an enterprising individual were to flash the stock update/ROM in recovery, then manually flash our radio in fastboot, they might not end up with a brick.
...maybe . . . my recovery is iced, so it won't be me trying
I can't flash the update in recovery :/ otherwise I would try. I do have recovery access though. Wonder if swapping out portions of that xt862 file may be possible..? We need someone with the knowledge!

Just like with the other SBF, do not flash it. Stop thinking about flashing it. Stop thinking about thinking about flashing it. In the best case, you will brick your phone until we get an SBF. In the worse case, the Chinese government is already en route to your location.
DO NOT FLASH THIS SBF!

Getting back to stock

I have my Droid Bionic on a ICS ROM but I would like to get back to stock. I don't have any back ups and I wasn't on safestrap. I was wondering how I flash my phone back to stock. I have heard of doing it with RSD lite. If so where do I get the file to flash on my phone?
My phone is forever rooted, will it stay that way?
Thanks!

Yes, you can use RSDlite and the 902 fxz or you can moto-fastboot the system.img.
You will loose root with both options. However, you can use motofail to regain it again.
Do you have any of the files?

It worked for me, without the need of using a factory cable.
Greetings,

[Q] Could someone point me to (or supply) a mirror for JB fastboot sbf file?

I have a bricked Droid 4 which is stuck in fastboot mode due to me trying to flash the wrong SBF file (Gingerbread?) and the only solution I know of is to get the Jelly Bean SBF so I can load it via RSD Lite 5.7.
This is the file I need a copy of: cdma_maserati_9.8.2O-72_VZW-18_1ff.xml.zip
The only link I can find is from sbf.droid-developers.org which is broken or something, the site never loads.
Would someone with this file be able to host it? Thanks.

Don't know of any mirrors offhand but I believe the JB Droid 4 Utility by mattlgroff includes the JB fastboot files. You can find it in the dev section here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2207384. You can also use the utility to fastboot your phone. I find it easier than using rsdlite personally.

your problem is likely a browser or cookie error, try a different browser
