recovery access without powerbutton - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How do I gain access to recovery without power button.
My phone i stuck after a bad flash and wont boot up, I can get into bootloader and fastboot but nothing else.
Am I doomed?
EDIT: Found stock ROM in "image" format which is flashable from fastboot, problem solved.

Good to hear. Advantage of having an unlock bootloader.

[Q] nexus one broken power button stuck in boot loop

I have a rooted and unlocked bootloader nexus one. I previously had cm7 on it but decided to flash an ics rom without having the blackrose hboot. I need help to get into recovery as I can get to the point where to select recovery I need the power button. Is there another way of getting into recovery thru fastboot or something?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
try
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
Adb reboot recovery. Adb should work within 10 seconds of booting. I had a problem once that wouldn't even get past the X to the boot animation.
You can also install blackrose which enables you to press the trackball instead of the power button.
I think you need to be able to boot normally to install blackrose.
But if you have a broken power button, get blackrose and 4ext touch recovery on your phone as soon as you can boot normally.
If you're not getting far enough into the boot for ADB to work and can't do the fastboot stuff because you never unlocked the bootloader (and don't want to), you can toss a passimg on your sd card to go back to stock. Then you can reroot.
I can't get into adb, but my bootloader is unlocked. Is there any way of getting into recovery without having to reroot.

Thanks for the link, it somewhat helped but I was able to get it to work with lots of flashing via fast boot and whatnot
I had the same problem. I flashed back to stock. Flashed the userdata, system image, recovery image, boot image, and radio.

can't boot into bootloader

I've used this guide All-In-One Toolkit V1.0 to unlock bootloader. and i did that , i saw " unlocked" in the bootloader, and i've lost some apps like flashlight(which is normal when u unlock bootloader) But now, if i turn off my phone and try to use volume up + power to boot into Bootloader it wont work. i've flashed recovery and cant boot into it as well
If i use that tool to boot into bootloader it works fine.
What i want is to get root. i need a recovery for that. so i am stuck(
same here!
also unlocked the bootloader with that tool. also cant boot into bootloader via vol+ + pwr. only get via the tool into bootlaoder. never get into recovery. if i try the device boots normaly.
Anyone has an idea how to fix this?
I use hold Volume Minus not Plus
clear cache. People here seems to always forget this lol!

[CLOSED] Stuck in bootloop - Cant load a recovery

Hello,
I tried to flash Slim ROM on my TMo HTC One and I accidentally soft-bricked it.
First, I unlocked the bootloader, put the zip folder in storage and then went straight for flashing a ROM.
Since then, I am stuck in a bootloop even when I try to run recovery - I flashed TWRP.
Can anoyone help?

yes, this is pretty simple:
You can boot into your bootloader by pressing the power button for a long time and if the display turns off, press the volume down button and hope you jump into your bootloader.. try this out until you manage to get into your bootloader. If this doesn't work, you should hold your phone below a bright light so the sensor recognizes it.. then play around with your power button and volume buttons and you should be able to boot into your bootloader. Then connect your phone to the PC and use this fastbootcommand after you navigated to fastboot on your phone:
Code:
fastboot erase chache
Now you should be able to boot into your recovery..
If it helped, hit the thanksbutton or ask other questions by quoting my post so I get notified and I can answer
If you managed to enter the recovery, say it, I write further instructions... Because if I write it now and the steps above didn't work... I wrote it for no reason and yeah... just say it

thank you for your quick response, unfortunately, after erasing cache before and I still got stuck in bootloop (didnt work this time either).
Entering Recovery... appears on top of a screen and nothing happens for a long time before the phone reboots itself

I would simply reflash recovery (maybe a different one) to make sure it's not the file you have

ok.. in that case we have to do some other stuff..
Download the TWRP recovery, it's know to work better than CWM at it's current state, you can download the file for your HTC One here:
http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7 (credits to: http://teamw.in/ thanks for your awesome work!)
Then when you are in the fastboot mode, use this command:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery "C:\pathToYourRecovery\recoveryname.img"
Then boot into recovery... and if this doesn't work too, try this command:
Code:
fastboot boot "C:\pathToYourRecovery\recoveryname.img"
If you were able to get into the recovery, or if you were not able, pls answer
!! :good: It worked and I got successfully booted the recovery, I think I was flashing a wrong version of twrp before

Can't boot to flash mode or recovery mode.

I really need help.
I've got my phone bricked and I can't even boot to flash mode or to recovery mode.
The last thing I've done is boot to twrp and clear data because I am going to change rom. But there is a certain error that pops up. and forgot what was it. After that, I try to flash the rom. But the same error pops up. If I remember correctly. e:ex4ts is not found? Something like that? And now. When I turn on my phone. The xperia logo still pops up. Then after that its only black screen. I tried going to recovery (power + Vol up + vol down) and also tried flash mode but nothing really happens. Its like not being detected. And when I try to charge it. The xperia logo pops up and black screen appears. The charging icon/animation is not popping up. Is there anyway to fix this? Please help. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.
Your phone is now bricked and won't boot into recovery. You need to flash stock rom via flashtool to recover your phone. Is that your phone's bootloader Lock?Unable to boot into recovery always happen in locked bootloader phone.
Use Flashtool to flash stock rom. But be careful to connect phone only when prompted. It should boot after that, then you can root phone again and try to install recovery again.
I have unlocked bootloader already. I think there is something wrong with the phone. I can't boot to flash mode and recovery mode. The screen continues to go black light. I've tried for more than 20 times already. But still. I can't go to flash mode. Can I go to flash mode by only connecting my phone to my pc?

use recovery img to flash via flashtool.you'll get your recovery back
Thank you so much for answering my query. I figured it out before reading this. Yes, I forgot how to use flashtool. I forgot how to boot into flash mode. I used the method in Samsung devices (All buttons must be pressed) which technically my mistake. Thanks again.

Can't get in to TWRP

Hi,
I have done a lot of rooting etc but a while since and not hit this before.
Unlocked the Mi9 with tool (it says unlocked on reboot).
Flashed Twrp_3.3.0_Cepheusv12 by extracting recovery.img and fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Says it has installed OK but I can't get in to TWRP, I hold down the volume up button and then hold power till it restarts but either loops back or if I leave it, just goes in to stock ROM (which I am trying to get rid of !).
Any clues ?
