It isn't in the hTC hub.
Thought this would be a cool app to have on my phone. And found the app in the following thread: post #18
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1099538&page=2
I downloaded this app but it won't run on incredible s. Or more specifically on any ROM except the Virtuos Unity sense 3.0 ROM(the sensation ROM port).
I posted this in the other threads but no one replied, that's why starting a new post.
I basically want to get that app working on our phones. So far i have made following progress :
1)Extracted the .apk
2)Separated the .dat & .Png files
The things that are remaining
3)Editing .xml files
4)Editing .png files
5)compiling the .apk
6)signing the .apk
Anyone have any idea about this or willing to help?? please let me know
Here's listing all the tools you will need :

Its no longer there, SopL87 pulled it for control reasons.
OP, get with Gadget!, he can help you get one made with his tut, just as he has helped me
It basically involves decompiling an APK, changing string values in the xml and recompiling, then when you want to replace the graphics, you use 7zip, once done with that stuff, you sign using APK manager.
4 tools you need first before even atempting:
APK Tool (download from Google)
APK Manager (google it)
7zip (its like Win RAR but better and free without the annoying trial message)
and lets not forget a good graphics editor like Photoshop or Gimp

Where is this Gadget Tutorial at? Im also wanting to do some custom skinning.
Hi all -
Newbie to the forum here - as well, newbie to the Thunderbolt!
I have a question regarding downloading new skins for the TB. First off, is there a good location to find a variety of skins?
Secondly, the ones I have found are usually downloaded in a .zip format and I am unable to convert them to an .apk format. I have tried renaming them, but this doesn't work for me.
Can someone tell me how to locate ones with the extension .apk and/or how to use the ones that are in .zip format?
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks much,
Sean
You need to be rooted. And then you flash em. You can't just theme like that. The best without root is using launcher pro

I have downloaded a few on here without rooting your phone idk what that guy is talking about. just get astro file manager and use it to install the apk file manager. its hard to search the forums on this place cuz theres so many ppl using all these roms and all this crazy crap i havent figured out yet. i dont wanna screw with my phone. i just want it to look cool with some .apk skins. theres a thread on here somewhere in the HTC desire section that someone posted a bunch of skins that work for the thunderbolt that i downloaded.\
I decompiled my systemUI apk and made changes on it (Fergie's mods). Now I don't understand how to get it on my phone.
It's fully recompiled. But apparently I have to sign it. There's so many different things people do:
-zipalign
-optimizing apks
and more stuff I can't even remember. What do I have to do to get this mod onto my phone? If anyone can please tell me how to do this I will be very grateful.
Also, I used apktool, not apkmanager if that matters.
(As you can see, I'm fairly new at this. I just added the mods by following Fergie's guides, don't understand 95% of what I did).

Signing is the one thing that prevents me from making things to share with all of you. So I just become greedy and use it all for myself hahaha
You should also say which OS you're running. I run Ubuntu, hence the reason I Google "Android xda Ubuntu Sign apk" or in my case: the latter but "rom" replaces apk. I couldnt explain how SEO works, because I can't sign using Ubuntu!!!!!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhrrrrrggggg!!!!ยก!!

Hi... I am a Windows 7 user as well. I use ApkTool, but mostly APK Manager.
When I need to sign an APK, this is how I do it.
I open the original APK with 7zip and copy out the resources.arsc file and META-INF folder.
I then take the APK that APK Manager spit out - unsignedwhatever.apk and I open that and replace the existing resources.arsc and META-INF folder with those from the original APK that I copied out.
I then rename unsignedwhatever.apk to whatever.apk, place it in a flashable zip and flash it. Works every time... unless I've screwed something else up
Good luck!
