This happens when CWM does not have necessary root access. Maybe you reflashed the stock kernel after installed insecure kernel to remove the yellow triangle. If that is the case simply reflash with insecure kernel and start CWM after phone boots. Allow it superuser access and go to CWM Recovery mode from the app.
Let me know if you are stuck somewhere. I had the same issue as yours 5 minutes back and found a way myself. Hope this helps. I just flashed a custom XXLP6 for my SGS2.

hi!
can i ask sth?
if the message like this..
"CWM Manager should be used with CF-Root V5.0 or newer it appears you are running a different recovery.various features have been disabled problem"
yea, i know that after i install the latest cf-root with cwm including on,
then i install touch cwm on my phone, it'll response that..
so my questions :
1. is that touch cwm is just can be access from boot recovery?;
2. can i get back the feature that has been disabled to be enabled again?
3. lastly, can i just uninstall cwm, and is that touch cwm and cwm manager still installed on?

Just uninstal the app. With root explorer.

[Q] Galaxy S 2.2 CWM Issue - Help!

Hey Guys,
I have an International I9000 Galaxy S.
The problem is that I have installed 2.2 Froyo through Kies, then rooted and attempted to install ClockWorkMod with ROM Manager. Whenever I flash and boot recovery, I'm taken to the 3e Recovery Menu, not the CWM Menu.
I can't understand why it refuses to boot :/
Please help a noob
Anyone? .
hi
ive never used rom manager so cant comment on that but why dont you go into dev forum and check out the roms there and on the OPosts theres directions that are easy to follow
most of the kernals have recovry built in
regards
http://koush.tandtgaming.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-2.5.1.2-galaxys.zip
I'm not entirely sure, as I don't use Rom Manager either, but I believe that only flashes it so you're only able to access it using Rom Manager. Is there any option within Rom Manager that allows you to boot into CWM?
In my opinion your best bet would be to flash a kernel with integrated CWM, or ideally a whole new custom rom. Much easier.

Reason being is because 3e does not work with CWM. Only 2e is supported. Check the CFRoot thread, and if your rom falls into the firmware listed, you're in luck. Otherwise, like myself on Froyo JK4, I need to downgrade to 2.1 via Odin, then reboot into CWM.

You do not need to "downgrade" you just need to install a different kernel.
I recommend this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=822756

[Q] Help With Custom Rom installation.

Hi there,
Since gingerbread with most probably be the last update for SGS i would like to install a custom mod.
Now i have been trying to do this (darky 10 RC4) for the past 2 days.
I followed Darky's instructions then i had a problem with the CWM only accepting "edified" script.
So i downloaded rom manger and tried to downgrade ta 2.5 but as soon as i tap on the 2.5 it immediately comes up with an error, "an error occured while flashing your recovery."
this is done on a 2.3.3 JVB SGS with CWM 3 installed (orange text).
Are there alternate routes? maybe downgrading to android 2.2 installing an older version of darky and than upgrading the darky rom?
any help is much appreciated.
thanks
Download the rom CWM-zip and put it in your internal sdcard.
Download some froyo-kernel (yes, froyo) with CWM 2.5. Speedmod for example. Then flash it with Odin repartition and auto-reboot unticked. When the flashing process is completed, pull the battery and then boot to recovery (3 button combo). Now you have CWM 2.5 and you can flash the CWM-zip from there.
thanks, i wil try that.

Sorry. With CWM-zip I meant the Darky's Rom.zip, which can be flashed through CWM.
it didnt work, u just gave up.
hopefully some new rom update that is edified will show up in a couple of months
Install supercurio hacked kernel, it has recovery 2.5 instead of 3.0.0.5. From there you should be able to install darky's rom. If the new version of his kernel is recovery 3, tell me i'll send the old one just for the purpose.
Hi,
ok last attempt
i flashed ( odin PDA, no pit and no repartition) with this link:
Kernel Download:
Gingerbread-GT-I9000-stock-kernel+hacks.tar
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=975349
while i was on
PDA_I9000XWJVB - PHONE_I9000XXJVK - CSC_I9000XEEJV3
rooted with root CF-Root-XX_OXA_JVK-v3.1-CWM3RFS
and lag fixed with CF-Root-ext4-v1.2
and it forking worked red text 2.5 THANKS A BUNCH!
edit just a problema. it is only booting in CWM.
reattempting this without the lag fix.
2nd attempt with PDA_I9000XWJVB - PHONE_I9000XXJVK - CSC_I9000XEEJV3
and without lag fix not rooting.
phone stuck looping at booting with strange sound on each boot loop
3rd attempt with rooting, but no lagfix
If you are only rebooting in recovery, did you flash the new kernel, then reboot recovery ? if yes, the easy way to get out, is to reboot in download then reflash the wanted kernel (Since your rom is installed, you can install any kernel (GB of course)) then, it will reboot in recovery again and just reboot system now. This should fix your problem.
edit : Dont forget to get CF-root 3.1 for JVB and not JVK.

root CF-Root-XW_XEE_JVB-v3.1-CWM3RFS
lagfix CF-Root-ext4-v1.2-Addon
and
Gingerbread-GT-I9000-stock-kernel+hacks
and the zip is in progress.
ps it wasnt stuck the previous time, i was pressing the middle key as the selection while i should have been pressing the power button.

Just use your mobileodin and download speedmod k3-9 in tar file and flash, thats all.
As far the CWM App , you need to install CF root kernel for it. But all other kernels by default give you access to the CWM Recovery.

phone stuck at boot screen, cant access recovery

I was on stock ICS, i flashed the latest notecore kernel after i got root, and then flashed another kernel, and now when i rebooted it it decided not to start, i cannot get into recovery however i can get into download mode, i however do not know how to use this, i have drivers installed to my computer, but am unsure if i need kies aswell. could somebody please help me as its really really late here but i am unable to sleep as i need my phone in the morning! thanks.

Safest way is to flash stock GB or pre-rooted GB firmware using PC odin.

Flash this pre rooted GB Rom using PC Odin
http://d-h.st/HJM
Your phone must be in Download mode and don't change any settings in PC Odin. Just select the file under PDA tab and Hit Start
Easiest way you can try first, otherwise go long way as above said by jeetu & sahil
Flash Notecore kernel (.tar vesion)with PC odin (for PDA tab)
Later reset flash counter with Triangle Away.
This thing happened to me today as well, from my other post:
I installed CleaNote ROM and it worked fine (restored all my apps via titanium backup) then I rebooted to recovery and installed NoteCore 14 kernel and 15toggle zip which was recommended for the ROM. Now i am stuck in white boot up GT-N7000 screen and cannot go back to recovery mode. I can only go to download mode.
Any links to the TAR version of notekernel and flash counter? Thanks
UPDATE: ITWORKS! Thanks dr.ketan, I flashed the Notecore kernel TAR and now it boots up. Used triangle away from Google play to remove triangle. Again, thanks a lot

V14 took a long time to launch CWM, approximately 30 seconds, but it does launch eventually and does work as normal.
So it doesn't get stuck it just takes time...... Patience is all you need.
This is fixed in v14.1.
I upgraded from v14 to v14.1 last night without any problems and can confirm that the CWM launch delay is now fixed.
I have installed all NoteCore kernels since v3 and never had a major problem.

I found the same trying to install the 15toggle zip, you could try your original method without the 15toggle zip and it will most likely work.
Hi all. Please note that the NoteCore V14.0 has a delay of about 30 to 60 seconds before it enters recovery. Just sit and hold your breath until your fact turns blue and voila, you are in recovery. V14.1 solves the problem of this long delay.
Hi Guys,
V14 had the issue with CWM... once u boot to recovery donot do anything,, wait for the screen to load.. it will do it eventually.
New notecore

Yes, the recommended 15 toggle which was originally for LRK now works with CleaNote5 ROM, although I went back to the default ROM (NoteCore 12.3)as the newer versions of NoteCore kernel seems to be buggy for me

[Q] galaxy note wont be recognized by either kies or odin

i flashed to 4.2.2 this morning but i didn't like it so i decided to go back to stock jelly bean but i can't !! kies wont connect to my phone it would just keep loading and loading and never actually open the phone itself so i tried downloading the drivers manually but then odin doesn't recognize at all i tried unitsalling kies , updating , reinstalling nothing would ever work ! but y laptop recognizes the device and i can acess the files but other then this nothing
====update=====
i tried flashing with mobile odin and now it is stuck on samsung blue logo just keeps doing the animation over and over so i connected to pc and odin recgonized and flashed the rom again but then it is stuck on a boot loop and i tried wiping cache and factory data reset but wont work
What rom did you flash. Ics or JB. Install Philz kernel and do a wipe data reboot. If still no go then wipe system data cache and preload and reboot into download mode and flash stock rom again.
Rebooting in recovery and clearing cache and dalvik cache may help..

It didn't here. I went back from XXLT4 (rooted) to XXLT4 (stock non-root) using ODIN, and the problem was gone. Then I flashed PhilZ 4.93.6 kernel, and the problem was back. No connection, neither USB or Wifi. I was on a rooted stock kernel before, but have no idea what the problem was.
So, as soon as I root the firmware, the connectivity is gone.
Update: it's back. I have no idea why, I'm still on XXLT4 + latest PhilZ kernel.
Next problem: Where can I edit the newly added lockscreen shortcuts? Could it be that flashing PhilZ kernel removed that feature from the settings menu? I can't find it... and I've definitely seen it before I rooted.

Why do you want to flash Philz kernel..just root your phone on the stock kernel..JB stock kernel is bug free..
Go to settings--lock screen--swipe and there you have the option to change it on stock lock screen..do you have a custom lock screen??

Thanks! I used PhilZ because it came with cwm, built in root and was easily available.
Do you know how to go back to stock kernel without a full install? (and keep cwm and root). Something like a XXLT4 German / DBT kernel in a ZIP zile I can flash from recovery? I simply don't know where to find that.
Mybe SCS information is missing.*#1234# and view SCS code.
My CSC information is currently "N7000OXALT4" and nothing more. I was half expecting "DBT" behind that. Could that really be the problem?
Looks like I should go for a new nandroid backup & CSC reset?

Thanks, I figured that out in the meantime, packed zImage into another flashable ZIP and signed it. Now I can theoretically flash it using "mobile ODIN" (to keep root) or from CWM. It's still not the perfect solution since I would definitely want CWM. So currently, I keep running PhilZ and wait for a better solution for the lockscreen icon issue.
whats the issue with lock screen? sorry for asking but after reading the thread i got confused.
