Please help me to unlock my hd7 t-mobile

Carrier unlock or software unlock?
Carrier unlock: be in good standing with TMO on your bill, call them, ask for unlock code.
Software unlock:
1) Chevron unlock- go to site, buy token, wait, unlocked. Approved by Microsoft and doesn't void warranty.
2) Follow this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295068 , and flash a custom unlocked ROM. This isn't approved by Microsoft and can void your warranty.
My personal preference is #2. Best of luck.
Hey Jelliotz,
If You want to change carriers (IE Bell to Telus in Canada) You have to do the carrier unlock correct? (I believe no software will work with this one). Is that correct?

Besides, i have an unlocked t-mobile mda (G3). Would it become locked if i apply the new ROM?
Thank you for bearing with me.

Yes! its safe to download from rapidshare.G3 phone once CID unlocked remains unlocked ever after, flashing an official rom doesn't put a CID lock again
CID Locked!
Sorry for bothering again.
Wizard service tool (WST) is telling me that my phone is cid locked. But i am using it on another carrier (not tmobile) in pakistan. So is it really cid locked then? If it really is locked, is it advisable to upgrade the rom to the one provided by tmobile? I mean, is there any chance that it would become locked? or should i cid unlock it first (using WST) and then upgrade?
Thanks

Ok,I'll try to explain what is SIM_Lock and CID_Lock,they both are entirely different functions.
SIM_Lock:-
SIM is the abbrevation of Subscriber Identity Module . it Hold the IMSE (International Mobile Subscriber Identity ) and TMSI (Temparery Mobile Subscriber Identity)
Feature which would lock a phone to a specific network or set of networks. Used by providers that subsidize the phones to make sure the customers stay with the provider that got them the phone.
Some phones are locked to the specific telco from which you purchase your phone, eg you can't use a locked O2 phone using a Vodaphone SIM/smart card. To use SIM card from other telco, you need to SIM unlock your phone. Note: In general, the phrase 'unlock your phone' usually refers to SIM-unlock, not CID unlock.
In Pakistan,Phones are sold as SIM Unlocked, thats why any SIM of any Network works with them.
CID_Lock:-
Carrier Id - commonly used in the form `CID-Unlocking`. If you purchase your phone (example) from Qtek (Qtek is the 'carrier'), your phone will only accept Qtek ROMs (the carrier's ROMs). If you want to flash ROMs from other carrier, you'll need to CID-unlock your phone, so that your phone will accept other ROMs. Note: In general, the phrase 'unlock your phone' usually refers to SIM-unlock, not CID unlock.
So,Phones sold in Pakistan are usually SIM_Unlocked but they are not CID_Unlocked.
Now,if its running a T-mobile Rom (OS) then YES! you can upgrade to the latest T-Mobile rom, there's no need to CID_Unlock the phone, but if you want to upgrade to any latest Custom Build WM6.1 Rom,then definitely, you'll have to CID_Unlock the phone.
Thank you
Thank you

I recently ordered an unlock code from TMobile UK and have successfully unlocked my phone. The question is whether it remains unlocked forever or will it lock again when I update to a new ROM (official or cooked).
Thanks in advance
or by hard restart
does it remain unlocked after a hard reset?
as far as I know when you ordered a unlock code from T-Mobile then it is a sim unlock number to allow you to use other providers in the phone the CID lock is is still there .Still after a hard reset your unlock from T-moblie you should still be able to use other sim cards from other providers
So basically keep my code safe???
Is that what you are saying? That I will need to unlock again when I update with a new ROM?
If so, I'd better keep a note of the Unlock code!
Thanks to everyone who responded.
If I buy new from Amazon (supplied and shipped by them) and it's sim-free is there a likely chance the bootloader will be unlocked or would that be a given in that case?

I was just about to buy a xt 1058 sim unlocked, just now i find out people are saying that with the 1058 you cant unlock the bootloader, for the at&t variant?... but the phone is unlocked free for any carrier, so the bootloder cant be unlocked in this phone? please help i need to know this
Sorry my bad english
Correct, the only way at present to unlock the bootloader on the xt1058 is to pay for the Sunshine app, http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/request-help-exploit-moto-x-bl-t2828471 but only if your phone's version is prior to 4.4.4, though it appears it's "possible" it can work with 4.4.4

Its a Sim unlocked phone (no carrier) but the number is still 1058, im in Latin America, the phone has no logos in the back, i think only the verizion and at&t versions can't be unlocked... but i dont know, so ALL 1058 have the bootloader locked?
I guess if your carrier can provide the unlock code, but I believe not from Motorola
Just check which model you have.
If its an XT1058, its the AT&T model. You can request a sim unlock code from AT&T free of charge directly here: https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/?#/
Otherwise, buy it from ebay for around 10$
Now if you want to unlock the bootloader to flash different firmwares, AT&T phones (XT1058) don't allow that by getting the code from Motorola directly, so you need to use a tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/request-help-exploit-moto-x-bl-t2828471
It costs 25$ and it only works on phones that have an android OS lower than 4.4.4 installed!
To expand on what @dagoban said...
SIM Lock/Unlock (aka Carrier unlock) is different from Bootloader Lock/Unlock.
SIM Unlock is usually possible by buying the code from many 3rd party web sites on the internet. And sometimes your carrier will supply the code (you may have to meet carrier requirements) for free or a small fee.
When it comes to Bootloader unlocking, that is only needed if you want to easily root, or the ability to flash a custom recovery (Like TWRP, CWM, Philz) or 3rd party ROM (like CM).
For the Developer Editions Moto X, and some carrier editions (Like T-Mobile, Sprint, Rogers Canada, and others), Motorola freely gives away the BootLoader Unlock codes when requested On Motorola's Web Site. In the case of the Non-Developer Editions, it voids their warranty to request the code.
I'm not going to go into the reasons why, but Moto does NOT give out the bootloader unlock code for the Retail and Moto Maker X for Verizon, ATT, Republic Wireless and a few other carriers. For these you need to rely on someone finding a HACK( Sunshine was mentioned) but this can often times have requirements/restrictions. At one time, someone got a hold of Moto's Bootloader Unlock code database, and was selling codes to Verizon, ATT, etc users who couldn't otherwise unlock their bootloader, but this has since stopped.
I know for the HTC G2, you can downgrade the Android software version to unlock the bootloader, are there any software solutions like that for locked devices?
No, theres nothing you can do about that unfortunately.
When you get a phone from a network provider, it is likely the phone would not be allowed to have the bootloader unlocked. They request Sony to do that before they ship it out to them.
My advice next time is to buy it FACTORY unlocked. If you're buying an unlocked Sony phone secondhand online, ask the seller if it has been previously locked to a network provider before. If the seller not so sure, guide them to the service menu to where the bootloader status is. That's what I would do.
