Do yourself a favor and just get a flex cable replacement. The prices are around $40 and they aren't too bad to replace.
Popping the battery in and out should be real quick
I had the same problem . Just plug in the charger and keep removing and putting the battery back real fast till it comes on. Usually will within ten times . Its a sureshot. Thank if it helps.

i agree with 2 post above...
connect your charger into led indicator turn on
pull N1 battery
after led is turn off...put the battery back fast...
gud luck
Charger and battery pull works fine, I dud this for almist a year. I replaced the flex board a month ago to regain the button use. I must say that the Chinese boards have a snappier button and denser support foam for the button. Only $50 for the board on eBay. Very easy to replace. Good luck!

try replacing the battery. I have seen a lot of that happen on rooted devices where when the battery hits 0% it will not respond to a charger or anything. I am having the same problem but have not replaced the battery yet
i don't have any other battery
Did you try the hard reset (holding the power button for 10 seconds)? Does the battery picture show up on the screen if you connect the charger?

Hey. I just had this issue today. I thought my phone got bricked without doing anything. I was using it then 10 mins later it won't respond when i took it out of my pocket..
I had about 80% battery when it died this morning. I tried to boot it to recovery or download mode but nothing....
I finally tried using my bro-inlaw's battery but still nothing...
I blew my battery contacts and pins... Removed the sim and sdcard then placed battery back.
Tried turning it on normally... It did! My battery was at 59% when it finally turned on..
I'm on PA v0.4 with white gnote unit.
I think it may have been the unit acting up, not the rom.
Any thoughts?

Hey mate thats a sympton of battery going completely dead, try another battery or try to charge your battery with a external battery charger. Dont worry your note is fine just the battery gone dead.
First of all manage for charged battery, then only picture gets clear.
If it solve your problem then you may need not to do anything.
today i visited sams service centre after checking my fone they said that my note get oveheated and my motherboard blown up.. they said that it will be replaced in 3 days till then i have to wait

If I am charging my n7, it is very slow, and if I use it while charging, the battery charge even decreases. It is the same with another charger, so I assume that my battery is broken and I need a new one. I have been searching everywhere but didnt find anything. So PLEASE TELL ME WHERE I CAN BUY A BATTERY FOR MY N7!!
Don't you have it in warranty anymore?
Once you open it and start tinkering with it yourself, you can't return it anymore.
Still, this is the fourth link on google googling for 'nexus 7 battery spare':
http://www.newpower99.com/Google_Nexus_7_Battery_Replacement_Kit_p/google nexus 7.htm
and a guide: (first link)
http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Installing+Nexus+7+Battery/9895/1
another battery:
http://www.powerbookmedic.com/Google-Nexus-7-Battery-p-22598.html
Turns out, its very easy to find on google.
Oh yes, and shouting (using caps lock where it's completely unnecessary), won't get you answers any sooner. Nor will a million exclamation marks.
Cheers!

Try Here:
http://www.adapter-batteries.com/Asus-C11{2d}ME370T--battery-p-2436.html
Make one out of a couple of S3 batteries wired in parallel. Infact, you could probably fit 4 in there and have a super battery. You'd have to force the back on and charging would take a couple of days, Lol.
You probably don’t have problem with batter but with charger or charging cable.
I find out that if I charge my nexus with original charger AND original cable it will charge very fast, but if I use just different cable it will take forever.
don't buy a new battery yet. Try this.

I don't think you need a new battery. I had this identical problem with my nexus 7 and found this
Connect the charger to your Nexus 7, then plug the charger in to an outlet.
Press and hold Power until the device powers on, then immediately press and hold Volume Down (while still pressing Power). You will see the word Start with an arrow drawn around it.
Press Volume down until you find Power off, then press Power to select that option.
When your tablet is off, disconnect the charger, then reconnect it.
fixed my nexus 7 and would no longer drain while on charge and being used. Also you need to work out which app is causing it or you will need to do it again in a while (though I have no idea what caused my n7 to drain). good luck.
Why not directly from asus

Some few days ago, my OB isn't charging as normally, it looks like it was charging and the battery also is showing as charge mode, but the battery doesn't charge at all, what could be?, any one with the same issue?, I'm testin other battery, is the same with both batteries, I think could be hardware issue.
Thanks in advance.
I got the same problem but if I press a bit near the sim card it charges so I put something between the backcover and phone
Now it chargea without problems

All optimus blacks have this problem, apparently. My mic, earpiece, and power button stopped working, phone wasn't charging too. I ended up paying for a new motherboard, after which everything is fine.
My phone keeps with the same behavior, I can charge it, I test some other chargers, I put something between back cover and SIM, and nothing, sometimes charge and sometimes it doesn't, but why the battery looks like it was charging but the battery never increase?
Hello guys my HTC One that I got around launch suddenly decided to quit out on me. It had died because I was using it. I charged it for a bit and then it died again so I put it back to charge and no LED light. I've switched out with multiple cables and nothing seems to be working. So I'm going to go on a limb here and say its bricked. Any other words of advice?
Btw it is a T-Mobile phone so what do I do if it is in fact bricked? Will they replace it for me because I would hate to buy another phone because this thing isn't cheap. Thank you guys in advance
Rooted? Which ROM?
Um, sure I guess? Should this be in a different section?

Make sure it's fully charged! Then unplug power cord. hold both power and down volume buttons around 30 second or more. That worked for me!

OK, maybe someone out there can help me - I've been googling and reading XDA for answers, but not really found anything.
My GF's daughter has a Desire C, and dropped it off this morning reporting the following;
It started playing music without anyone doing anything this morning, and the screen wouldn't turn on. The only way they could get it to stop was pulling the battery.
Replaced the battery and the phone wouldn't start.
I read up a bit and left the phone on charge (no LEDs showing) for 2 1/2 hours. Came back, still couldn't boot.
I took the mains charger out and plugged it into my PC USB and tried volume down + power - still no boot, BUT, the screen did lighten slightly...
So, I WAS thinking the phone was bricked, then, as I was typing this and retried the plug into PC bit - the phone has booted
I was going to delete the post, but decided it may be of use to someone, so I added 'solved' to the title.
In a nutshell: if you have this issue, be patient - it might not be the end of the world (or phone!)
Any idea what the problem was?

I'm thinking the battery is getting to the end of it's life - it's gone again, so I've left it on AC charge until a friend gets around with another Desire C so I can check with his battery.
Hmm... How old was the battery?
Sent from my HTC Desire C using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Now it seems to be REALLY fixed...
Battery age? no idea, it was a secondhand phone.
Look at the picture though - I've circled the relevant area.
It seems the battery cover has a 'tag' which fits into this and makes contact with a thin metal strip which enable the power button - well, in my case, pushing a plastic stick in there made the power button go on and off anyway.
Looking at the rear cover, the tag seems a little worn, so I trimmed that off with a sharp knife (without cutting myself either!), and trimmed a small piece of old credit card folded over to fit the hole.
And it works - power on, power off.
The battery is reporting to be full so no LED still (does the LED come on when it has full power? I've not noticed), I'll drain it a bit and try plugging it in to see if the LED comes on.
When my pal gets around with the other Desire C, I'll try his rear cover in this phone and see if it was just down to a small worn piece of plastic...
Been an interesting day for me - just hope this 'adventure' will be of help to someone else - I was thinking mainboard/battery problem and it turned out to be a 2.5mm x 1mm piece of plastic...
Just checked mine and you are right. Good to know. Thanks.

Hmmm. I was asking so we could get to the root of the problem so maybe it could help someone else with the same problem...

As far as I've seen there's no LED implementation, seeing as the screen never goes off whilst on charge if powered up or not
