Where to buy a new nexus 7 battery - Nexus 7 Accessories

If I am charging my n7, it is very slow, and if I use it while charging, the battery charge even decreases. It is the same with another charger, so I assume that my battery is broken and I need a new one. I have been searching everywhere but didnt find anything. So PLEASE TELL ME WHERE I CAN BUY A BATTERY FOR MY N7!!

Don't you have it in warranty anymore?
Once you open it and start tinkering with it yourself, you can't return it anymore.
Still, this is the fourth link on google googling for 'nexus 7 battery spare':
http://www.newpower99.com/Google_Nexus_7_Battery_Replacement_Kit_p/google nexus 7.htm
and a guide: (first link)
http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Installing+Nexus+7+Battery/9895/1
another battery:
http://www.powerbookmedic.com/Google-Nexus-7-Battery-p-22598.html
Turns out, its very easy to find on google.
Oh yes, and shouting (using caps lock where it's completely unnecessary), won't get you answers any sooner. Nor will a million exclamation marks.
Cheers!

This used to happen to me I bricked my tablet, and swapped out the motherboard, same battery, and the charging issue was fixed

Try Here:
http://www.adapter-batteries.com/Asus-C11{2d}ME370T--battery-p-2436.html

Make one out of a couple of S3 batteries wired in parallel. Infact, you could probably fit 4 in there and have a super battery. You'd have to force the back on and charging would take a couple of days, Lol.

You probably don’t have problem with batter but with charger or charging cable.
I find out that if I charge my nexus with original charger AND original cable it will charge very fast, but if I use just different cable it will take forever.

don't buy a new battery yet. Try this.

I don't think you need a new battery. I had this identical problem with my nexus 7 and found this
Connect the charger to your Nexus 7, then plug the charger in to an outlet.
Press and hold Power until the device powers on, then immediately press and hold Volume Down (while still pressing Power). You will see the word Start with an arrow drawn around it.
Press Volume down until you find Power off, then press Power to select that option.
When your tablet is off, disconnect the charger, then reconnect it.
fixed my nexus 7 and would no longer drain while on charge and being used. Also you need to work out which app is causing it or you will need to do it again in a while (though I have no idea what caused my n7 to drain). good luck.

Why not directly from asus

Extended batteries?

Are there any yet for the Galaxy Tab?
having batt life issues? its been a champ so far for me.
Isn't 4Ah enough ??
PS: yes, the iPad has twice the battery capacity, but its display is twice the size, it's twice the weight, and there's twice as much room inside the device to throw-in a few more mAh
Getting the tab apart for battery access is quite a trick. I dont belive its something the average user is goong to be interested in. Peraonaly, i have been on this for as much of the 72 hrs ive had it and cant complain about the batt. One bit. Even on the rare occasion it gets lower then i feel comfortable with a few minutes on a/c brings it up nicely. I would like a longer cord though.
Galaxy Tabs.....Worth every penny!!
I'm looking for one at the moment so I can get an additional 5 hours out of the tab, more if possible as I'm going on a very long haul flight at christmas. So far I've not had much luck. If anyone can recommend one I would be grateful.

My MiniGorilla external battery pack seems to be able to charge my Tab, though since it is rated at only 1A output it would likely charge quite slowly. It might be enough to keep it going for an extended plane journey though.

Dave
Thanks for the tip, ill get right on that and take a look at it!

I've found one which seems to be rated at 5v providing 2 amps via usb from zagg.com the product is the zaggsparq 2.0. I'm going to order one to test out since they ship to the uk and will let you know if its any good.

Middle of the page.
Watch the reviews on the zaggsparq... Seems like it may be apretty shoddy product. Looked awesome to me too, reviews gave me pause.
Sent from my SCH-I800 using XDA App
Well i've been using the Zagg today and it does work with the galaxy tab but I had to use the general usb port as the optimized port for some reason is treated like a pc usb port and you get the no charge symbol over the battery.
So far I'm impressed had it plugged in charged my tab from 70% to 100% and still the zagg is showing 3 led lights out of 4.
Takes a bit of fiddling I have to plug it in turn the display off on the tab. Leave it for a minute and when I turn the display back on it shows the charging symbol and actually starts charging while I'm using it.
I can't recommend it yet as I've only used it for a couple of hours so I'm waiting for my trip at christmas (27 hours of flying) before I make any judgements either way.

[Q] wire a power supply to battery terminals?

I have a captivate with a broken USB port. No cable works, and it won't charge. However, other than that, it works fine. So I was going to make it an MP3 player, but of course, powering it is an issue.
So I was thinking that if there was some way to get a little power supply and wire it right to the battery contacts, it could just sit there running off wall power all the time.
Voltage isn't much of a problem, but does anybody know how to figure out the pad layout for the contacts?
Anybody done anything like this?
Thanks for any help.
get it fixed for like 35 buck link in my sig for connexion2005
Thanks for the info. I did google a few places, but most wanted 75-95 bucks to fix it, and that just wasn't worth it for my needs.
$35 in my sig. you should do it. I had to and it was well worth it
The desktop dock will charge the battery independently from the phone

There are a number of chargers available on Ebay that can charge the battery outside the phone. I think I paid about ten bucks and got one with an extra battery.
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA
Yeah, that's what I'm currently using. I just wanted to have it permanently wired for power. But fixing the charging port seems to be the simplest solution.
One advantage of wiring it directly would be to avoid the pigtail hanging out the top of the phone, but I may use the samsung dock once I get the port fixed, and that eliminates that problem...
Thanks again. (Of course, the other problem is that I can't flash anything to the phone unless I can download and flash it from cwm, since usb connectivity is completely shot).

(Solved?) Nexus 7 smelled bad, battery life also bad since...

Hey guys, I used this search function, together with Google, but I can't seem to find any information, I know there was a thread like that, but I can't find it... So sorry if someone is annoyed ^^

So I got my nexus 7 for a few weeks now, and four days ago it started to smell burned while charging... After this smell, battery life seems weird.. MAX. Stats are a few hours standby time (10) (lost 1% per hour with everything turned off) and 3-4 hours screen time until its discharged.. Before that, max stats were 1 day and 6-7 screen on time...
While charging, I am now smelling like a dog around my tablet and charger (which scares some people around me) but it doesn't smell anymore, and its charging properly.
So I'm not sure, if it REALLY is broken, or its just something I'm telling myself .. Because to be honest, if the battery would be screwed it should smell again and should charge like hell, or slow as a snail.., but charging is fine, like day one..,
I'm searching for people who had a smelling nexus 7 and what they've done.., and what consequences they had...
Thank you in advance
P.S.:To help myself, I'll charge it full (again) and make a MANUAL (fastboot) factory reset, maybe this helps... And also I can say it can't be an app, because I use the same I used when I bought it... So ^^

Got it from Media Markt, but its an act to get there, (for me) since I got no car ^^ its insured also... So I'll get a replacement for sure, but maybe I don't have to... I had a lot devices which smelled weird once but worked for years... So, maybe it just sucked too much power once.. The problem is, I can't live without this tablet so maybe I'll call MM and ask if they have one in stock to get.. But again, maybe I don't have to.. That's why I'm searching "smelling" people

You must have some Labrador or Blood Hound in your DNA to be able to smell your devices charging lol.
On a serious note, have you tried watching the temps of the CPU and battery while its charging?

Yup, everything was normal.. This is what scares me I did a factory reset now... After setting everything up, (open all installed apps, go through settings, sync, update apps, setting the phone up in general, one reboot), I lost 2%, which is average ^^ I'm testing now.. But its confusing
Edit: and while charging, it didn't smell... This is weird...

Going by your description of the problem, I would be leaning towards strongly suspecting that a component has (or is in the process of) burning out.
Does your Nexus smell when you charge it on either a different charger or PC USB port? If not then it may just be the charger is going bad - which in the big picture is no biggie (better the charger than the Nexus)
If on the other hand, the Nexus smells regardless of where you charge it, I would be seriously considering a warranty claim fairly soon. It may have been a freak occurance, but ultimately it has the potential to have drastically reduced the overall lifespan of your device - even if absolute failure has not occured.
Obviously it's your call buddy, but it shouldn't have happened in the first instance, and i'd be a bit paranoid that it could be a sign of worse to come.

The charger was my second thought.. I don't trust these things ^^
Right after this smell accident I unplugged it, and now I'm using a new socket to charge on. No smelling on laptop and the new socket... But if the old socket was the reason, then maybe when I use it the next time it will go up in flames, or my nexus does.. I'm going to watch out the next days, if any weird behavior is going on I'm going to replace it... But one thing I won't do: charge it overnight
I'm going to check the old socket.. But I need to go into my room, I don't want others to see me smelling lol
Edit: no burned smell...

Sooo, a little info for you and me.
After the full wipe yesterday, I'm on 28% left, with 24h standby, and 5h 48m display time, which is normal for me.. So it seems that the battery is fine (again?)
I'm going to charge it now, and as always, I'm running around the socket, charger and tablet.. I'll edit the post with the info after the full charge..
EDIT: no smelling after & while charging..
I assume it really was the socket I charged on, which I now toss into the trash..
Thanks to everyone who answered
And if I get weird behavior I'll send it in ^^

Power drain when turned off?!?

Hi all
A friend of mine have a 16GB Nexus 7 WiFi with a strange problem! The tablet is loosing battery juice very fast when completely off (Shut down)!
After I tested it: Charge to 100% and power off, 12 hours later when I power it on the batter is around 7x% !!! I made this test several times! We sent the tablet to an official ASUS repair center (the tablet is just 2 months old) and they presumably reconnected the battery connector! (loose connector according to them) They returned the device and the problem was the same! Sent the tablet again and this time they changed IO/FPC cable (whatever this is) but again the problem persist! Any ideas as to why this tablet behaves like this?
Any help on the matter will be greatly appreciated!

Hate to ask, but did you even check the battery usage utility or anything like that?
Have you tried changing your charger? Although from what you said it may be a problem with the unit. Try flashing 4.2.2 if you are in 4.3

How do you check that with the phone turned off? Also it wont los anything when turned off.
When turned on the battery decreases faster?
Bad battery. Period.
Wait....or bad charger. Does it drain when its shutoff while plugged in? Or unplugged?
If it drains when off and unplugged ....bad battery.
If it drains when off and plugged in....bad battery or charger.
The end.

Actually ....worse case....something is wrong with the tablet. Off is off. It should barely drain. If it is and the battery is ok....then unit is faulty.....and that I'd think would mean doom.

Lol sorry, I misread the post. Well, it's possible that it's just reading it wrong. Does the percentage go back up over time once it's turned on again?
Your battery is defective mate, if you are under warranty then go ahead & get it replaced , I also had same issues then what i did I forced them(Asus) that I want replacement then they simply replaced it ...without any trouble ..I am from India ..here they don't waste time on repairing ,they changes part , if you go twise for RMA then 3rd time whole device gets replaced ...

I am not sure what exactly caused this. But I had the similar problem with my Galaxy Nexus 7 / I replaced the battery with Zerolemon and I didnt get any problem afterward.
However check with manufacturer if there are any fix for this.

[Q] battery trick

hi, I'm having difficulties doing the battery trick with a particular nexus one phone. I have a second one, and it's not as hard to do with that second one. but my 'daily driver' is really driving me nuts, it can sometimes take over an hour to get the damn thing going, and it gets exponantially frustrating when flashing roms and having to do battery pulls because adb reboot won't work. Using different charges don't really help, but sometimes I get more lucky with a wall charger instead of a usb wire in a usb to wall charger
So, what triggers the battery bootup? is it a voltage boost? could I trigger it by sticking a second charger's stripped wires in the battery pins? I even have 2 extra batteries with the same voltage, if that can help anything!
What is a battery trick
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
battery trick is to plug the charger in the usb port, then remove and reinsert the battery a few times because the power button is defective - a common problem with nexus ones

Not sure why its not working for you but you can get a replacement button for less then $15 and it takes less then 10 min to fix

Battery trick not working except in a certain house
I know this is an old thread but since I'm currently forced to use my nexus one (broken power button, repaired once under warranty, broke agai) as a temporary replacement, I've had to deal with the battery trick issue again.
I DON'T GET IT. Back when it was my main phone, the BATTERY TRICK worked fine, took a few times max. Now I have collated all the info I can find on how to do it (some of which is actually conflicting) and it WILL NOT WORK, except if I do it at my girlfriends house which MAKES NO SENSE.
IT IS NOT:
1.) The charger (various brands/both USB and wall socket)
2.) THe battery (authentic HTC battery)
3.) It doesn't work whether its fully charged (GREEN LIGHT) or charging up (ORANGE LIGHT)
4.) It doesnt work when I do it 20 times in a row with the "correct" timing (battery back in JUST as the light turns off), and not when I do it 20 times in the way which this video does it (waits for one orange flash before reinsertion)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2O5adV-jj64&feature=relmfu
5.) Have tried removing sim and sd card, charging it for days, just EVERYTHING.
Sorry just venting as this just boggles my mind.
Anyone have any input on this age old issue? What's weirdest is that it used to work fine for me around 2012. And no, not buying the goddamn flex for 30 dollars, I have enough issues getting my One X+ diagnosed (been waiting 3-4 weeks on some incompetent repair shop).
