I was using MIUI NX A2SD version 1.8.5
Wanted to try the New version MIUI NX 1.9.x
So i Formated the SD using the "MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition" as 1gb EXT3 and Rest as FAT
Now i wen i reboot my mobile it doesnt BOOT IN.
It doesnt even boot into the recovery in theOOTLOADER .
Please help.
I DONT THINK I HAVE THE CLOCKWORK or AMON installed ... wat to do ?
If you have unlocked bootloader - just install the recovery through fastboot and reinstall any ROM you want.
If you don't have unlocked bootloader - you can either unlock it, or try to restore your Nexus using PASSIMG method and then root it without unlocking. If PASSIMG won't work - then you'll have to unlock the bootloader.
All the relevant guides are in the Wiki. Link in my signature.
I will try the PASSIMG method ...
I have flashed my mobile many times with many OS till now BLINDLY.
I always had either CLOCKWORK or AMON recovery installed. But after ther recent MIUI install i didnt install any RECOVERY.
So i am not able to get the RECOVERY options.
Recovery isn't connected to ROM in any way, and if you had the recovery installed before installing the ROM - you still have it. Boot to bootloader, choose "Recovery", press power button to select.
Download FRG83 ROM from here. FRG33 ROM from here can also be used, but might result in "Main version is older" error.
Rename the downloaded ZIP file to PASSIMG.ZIP.
Transfer the provided PASSIMG.ZIP file to the root of your SD card.
Power down your phone.
Hold down the Volume Down button as you power your phone back on.
A screen should appear showing your phone’s system searching for various files. This will take up to 2 minutes.
The phone will ask you if you want to start the update. Press the Volume Up button to start the update.
If you followed these steps correctly - congratulations, you are now on stock Froyo ROM.

Make sure that there isn't a zip contained within a zip.
Anyway, the easiest way to get recovery back on your phone if you are back up and running with MIUI would be to install ROM Manager from the market and using it to flash your recovery.
Ok now the problm seems to be with SD card.
Now that i have booted into MIUI, i see that it is not detecting the SD card.
Installed Rom manager from market. It wants SD card to be accessed.
The SD card is working fine n my system. I might have formated it the wrong formats or something with the tool "MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition"
Please let me know the exact format parameters.
I am formating as FAT32 - LOGICAL and another ext3 - LOGICAL

I would just recommend partitioning the card through recovery. Recovery will partition it the way it needs to be done. Just back up anything that is currently on the card.
You can't "click Recovery".
When you're in bootloader menu, you need to select the RECOVERY option using VOLUME UP/DOWN buttons, and press POWER button to select the option. If you can't - it means you're not doing it correctly.
The Wiki has section "Recovery", look at it and if you happen to have no recovery - flash a new one using the guide for unlocked bootloader there.
Does the latest CWM Recovery work?I doesnt want to brick my phone.Update recovery using rom manager doesnt work.

Rom manager show my phone,but when i install it on recovery mode the text is blurry and after i reboot again to recovery it goes back to old version cwm.
No, you can only flash it from the computer. We're all waiting for ROM-manager to support our device.
Can't you use someone else's computer and a USB stick?
EDIT: Some people try to install it through their standard recovery. Don't! That method has bricked lot's of devices, or made them a pain in the ass to recover...

Just checked it...
Does anyone know of a launcher similar to Quickboot that can launch Philz Touch 3 recovery rather than by using the hardware buttons? Now I have upgraded to Ultimate JB 4.1.2 XXSLA v5, QB causes problems on my phone so had to uninstall.
there are themes which add a reboot button to the toggle screen for 3 reboot
or there is a modified android.policy.jar file which adds more reboot options to power menu.
its in the themes and app section

rom toolbox has a rebooter..
make a shortcut on the home screen to give you reboot options as well.
rom manager works fine as well
Thanks, I'll take a look.
ROM manager Recovery option launches the CWM recovery, not the Touch 3 which is what I want to do. Not a big issue but I like the Touch 3.
Thanks again.

it boots you top recovery. if the recovery is Philz, it will launch that. it wont install new CWM till you manually instruct it to.
Is there a setting I'm missing?
On ROM Manager Premium, the Reboot into Recovery option asks "Are you sure you want to reboot into ClockworkMod Recovery? Cancel/Ok"
Now I think about it, I have no idea how come there's both recoveries on there.

Please take a moment to say thanks and/or donate to @ketut.kumajaya for helping us out.
Thank you to everyone who has (and still will) help in testing!!!!

@Jamison904 for giving us root
@hkjr for getting ketut to help
@k.aibutsu and @Unjustified Dev for there device source work
and of course Koush and the CyanogenMod team
@Tomsgt for the video
Link to kernel source https://github.com/kumajaya/android_kernel_samsung_lt02
Watch THIS VIDEO tutorial for a step by step visual guide for performing the instructions listed below (thanks @Tomsgt for the video).
Supplied in 3 formats:
Odin flashable tar.md5 (for first time installation)
Recovery flashable zip (requires a custom recovery to currently be installed)
.img file (for those who use Flashify or other direct methods).
Instructions for Odin: (use the ...tar.md5)
1. Download ODIN to your computer.
2. Power off the device.
3. Restart in "Download Mode" by holding the "HOME" button, "Volume Down" and "Power" all at the same time (for about 5 seconds).
4. Hit the "Volume Up" to enter download mode.
5. Start the ODIN exe program. Un-check Auto Reboot. See notes about ODIN below.
6. Connect the device via USB to your computer. Verify the device shows as "Added" in the Message box. If it doesn't show then you need the Samsung USB drivers (just install KIES to get them).
7. Select "PDA" then choose the recovery file you want to flash.
8. Hit "START". Wait for Odin to finish (~10-15 seconds). The message area will display "RES OK" when finished.
9. Wait for device to restart. Skip this step if you unchecked auto reboot.
10. Restart directly to recovery mode before rebooting into OS.(Hold POWER, Volume UP, and the HOME button all at the same time. When you see the Samsung Logo, let go of the POWER button, but keep holding the Volume UP and HOME until you see the recovery screen).
After you get the custom recovery working, you can flash the latest SuperSu zip to get root.
Notes about ODIN
--Make sure that "Re-Partition" is NOT checked.
--Auto Reboot can be un-checked if CWM doesn't flash correctly on your device. Some have reported that un-checking Auto Reboot fixes this issue. If you un-check Auto Reboot, you will need to reboot the device yourself (refer back to step 10).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Watch this video to learn about the navigation issues and Rainbow Mode: http://youtu.be/iCNdxlNzdBI
If the highlight doesn't move on the recovery menu, the selection actually does change. Go ahead and hit Power to select. If the menu goes blank, just hit Volume Up or Down to get it to reappear.
It appears that the menu navigation issue only happens when you use the button combination to boot into recovery. If you use the Quick Boot app or "adb reboot recovery", it seems to work properly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Instructions for recovery flashable version:
Boot into your previously installed custom recovery.
Select the Install Zip option.
Find the recovery zip.
Flash.
Reboot recovery.
Enjoy your new recovery.

If you are using the recovery in post #1, then you can skip this post. This post contains modified stock recoveries only.
I recommend all T210R users should flash the newest firmware from Sammobile, ( or just use my pre-rooted version located HERE ).
The modified stock recovery zips below contain a recovery.tar.md5 file that can be flashed using ODIN. These will allow only Google test key signed zips to be flashed. There are two versions, one for the T210R and one for the T210 devices. Both versions work on my T210R, so try whichever one you feel is appropriate.

I had to flash it to see if would do on the uk firmware. When i flash on the original, it made kernel panic.
Now i can flash it. Wanna hears something strange? My CSC is still NEE(nordic)
I think this relates also to the bootloader version. I will try to build T210 kernel with LZMA initramfs support so we can create a small recovery image. Blame Samsung/Marvell :laugh:

My results from testing this morning.
I did a factory data reset and then flashed the full US (T210R) firmware to return to completely stock non-rooted status. Then I flashed the T210R modified stock recovery (that I posted here yesterday) and it worked perfectly. I then flashed the new universal root zip provided by @ketut.kumajaya (it did return one error 7 at the end, but still worked) and I was rooted. :good:
I then tried the ketut's new T210R LMZA recovery and it did work, but still had navigation issues. :good:
I then tried ketut's new XZ recovery, but got a kernel panic. :crying:
So, at least for my T210R (with the newest T201R firmware from Sammobile), the recovery in the OP still works perfect.
I look forward to hear more feedback from others users, but for now, I recommend all T210R users should flash the newest firmware from Sammobile, ( or just use my pre-rooted version located HERE ) then give the modified recovery a try.
