[Q] music edition rom - Samsung Galaxy Mini

hello guys.
i've got the galaxy mini and i installed on it gingerbread 3.4 with odin.
i want to try the cyanogen mod music edition ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329551 )
i run clockwork recovery , both the 4.xxx version suggested by another forum and the newest version.
then i wiped the cache, and after installing it went on bootlooping!!!
three questions for you!
1) can i install this mod or another cyanogen mod with odin???
2) why cm music edition didn't work???
3) there is a person that can made a tar package that can be flashed easier with odin???
thanks in advantages!

what baseband do u have?
already wipe system/data? in recovery?
sent from Nokia 3310

use Clock work recovery 4.
No, can't use Odin for update to CM.

Just follow the instruction on yagya gaire's blog and wait while ur screen boots. its not bootlooping, first time booting require a bit more time, wait for 5-10 minutes,if till not work, then u can say ur bootlooping.

u just wiped the cache , wipe data also, and then try to restart....it will surely work,

ok,thnx guys, now my cmmusic mod works fine, but now i need an fm radio, and i know that the galaxy mini has got a built in radio tuner in the stock rom, but i can't find radio tuner app in the market that doesn't require network acces.
do you know anything about it?

use spirit fm..search for it in xda..

[Q] Galaxy Mini wont go into recovery

My friend just got his new phone, he had a Galaxy Ace previously and we were able to flash it with no problem, bad in my part since i thought it would be just the same as flashing the ace, so i got CWR and put the Galaxy mini into recovery, choose install update.zip, it install it, then i tried going to CWR but it wont go, looked online and found that i needed to use Odin tool to flash CWR, i did all the steps to flash it, but still cant get into recovery, the phone works fine, but we want to install a custom rom, what can we do?
thanks for your help.

i think you would have to REINSTALL the STOCK GB ROM and then install CWM recovery using odin.
for REINSTALLING GB,

for CWM http://www.androidaddicted.com/samsung-3/how-to-install-custom-recovery-on-samsung-galaxy-mini-s5570-259.htmlrecovery,
My friend gave me a samsung wich didn't wanted to go into recovery either. I can't remember which of these solutions we found online worked but try them out ( i can'r remember all but I hope the one wich worked is listed here ):
-instead of volume down hold volume up + power
-unroot your device, download ROM MANAGER app and install clockwork mod via the app ( easiest way to install cwm imo ) (btw this may brick your phone so do this only as last resort and still avoid doing this. Worked for me but many ppl bricked their mini with this)
-install everything stock and try again as the guy above me already wrote.

IF you are using i9100, than you are in the wrong forum. this is i9000 forum.
But you can try settings\apps\downloaded\google play store and press clear data and uninstall updates

Please DO NOT use roms which are not meant for your phone. If you have flashed i9000 rom on your i9100 (I dont know whether your phone will even start if you've done this), please reflash the stock rom of your i9000.

This is the right forum for i9001 questions . How did you try to install the gapps? Did you boot into recovery using reboot->recovery or three-button-combo, or did you try it via ROM manager somehow?

Well, in the ROM thread i downloaded 2 file's: ROM.zip and GAPPS.zip, i shat down my phone and clicked at the POWER and Volume UP key and entered the recovery mode. I wiped cache, then i wiped data and installed the ROM.zip from SD card and GAPPS.zip from SD card, well, the ROM was working fine but Gapps doesn't seem to appear. When i installed Gapps again this also didn't had any consequences.

[Q] Soft bricked 5570 - boot screen freeze

Hello dear friends!
I have following issue with the phone>
1. Phone had froyo installed on it.
2. i tried to copy a custom rom to sd, and then, i just tried to flash it directly via stock recovery. (completly noobish, i realize now...)
3. apparently by the status from the stock recovery it succeeded. BUUUT actually not...
so>
4. i got stuck into the samsung boot logo...
so>
5. i tried to flash cwm recovery through this steps provided by this tutorial.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342190
6. I now got a black screen instead of any recovery. tried it also with the froyo version of the recovery (designed apparently specially for froyo devices) and also with the gingerbread one. still no joy....
now, i am really lost and have no further ideas.... please help me at least get this back to stock again (it is the phone from work and i will have a hard time explaining them that i bricked it.... )...
please advise what should i try further??
THANKS!!!!!
PS> pls take into account that i am kind of a noob regarding this device... did a lot of things on my hox, but i do not know to much about this s5570....
download a four package firmware then flash it with Odin
Can u pls give me a link to a download / tutorial?? It's my first encounter with odin, so i am pretty noobish... Pls pls

by downloading official gb rom from

flashed cwm recovery - works with the steps from my first post now
flashing a custom rom from a zip on the sd card does not work afterwards!!!!!!! - it soft bricks phone again and i have to redo the 2 steps above.... why???
what am i doing wrong???
you didn't wipe data and cache before and after flashing process, right
now u have cwm recovery just boot into recovery and flash another rom... but before u flash rom make sure u clear cache and data from recovery menu then flash rom.
Guilty as charged!!
Trying it now and updating afterwards!

if your flashing gingerbread over froyo without wiping cache and data then that's why your getting soft brick.
I flashed jb from odin, so no cache deletion needed...
But yes, for custom rom install delete cache data all except sd before!!
So now cyanogenmod is up and running!!

[Q] from rooted version 2.2 to rooted version 4.0 or more?

Hi,
I was redirected to this part of the forum. A friend of mine rooted my samsung mobile Galaxy S I9000 with a android 2.2 version. I cannot contact him anymore to help me with the update and I am really a newbie in this rooting world. So, I am coming on this forum to have some advice. I read information on rooting your device, in which everything is explained very well, but could not find information on how to update once a device was rooted (probably I did not search in the right place). What I did so far is:
1) Taking backup of my pics (by manually drag and drop the folder on my pc), SMS and call logs (with sms backup + app), syncronized my contacts with gmail so that I can recover them later on and backup the music folder. I installed backup Titanium to back up my apps on my SD card.
But now, I am stuck with some questions (could you guide me where to find the information?):
1) Which most recent version of Android is supported on the device I have? Which version will work best?
2) Is there important information that I forgot to back up? + I have a problem with the backup Titanium app. It could reach my root in the beginning, but then the Superuser app updated the binary and from then on my titanium app got stuck when getting access to the root. Any idea how to solve this? Install an older version of the bin.file? How to do that exactly? thanks! => I could fix this problem by installing an older version of superuser in CW recovery. If others have problems with this issue, I can provide help from now on
3) Is there a guide with step by step procedure on which files I have to download on my pc and which procedure to follow? Or could you advice me some useful links?
thanks!
1) there is android 4.2.2 available for this amazing device
2) you propably forgot to backup efs folder
3)
- 1) follow this guide to get android 2.3.6 to your device: http://www.darkyrom.com/index.php?threads/odin-darkyrom-10-2-resurrection-gt-i9000.4272/
- 2) follow this guide to get android 4.2.2 (cm 10.1) to your device after: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_galaxysmtd
- 3) now you can flash most of the roms you find in i9000 android development forum. i personally use slimrom
copy /efs! backup ur imei n md5 in efs first! copy da whole efs file! or do nandroid backup.
READ N FOLLOW CAREFULLY here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2149455
considering u already done flashing Sammy n CF
prepare for ROM & kernel(optional) hunt! go to dev section and choose which JB u wanted.download it together with cm9.1.0 n copy to root of internal sd.
n make sure to flash cm9.1.0 stable from cyanogenmod website (galaxymtd) first from 2.3.6, first flash will bootloop, go back to recovery with 3 combo button. flash again n dont leave recovery.
after done flashing twice (if flash ended too quick, then flash again). direct flash 4.1/4.2 chosen rom, twice (first flash will come up with error, juz ignore it flash again (bootloop) recovery again n flash again

I followed the guide you mentioned here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2149455
in which they install that JVU ROM... then they say at the end that you have to unmount SD card (but that option was gray in my case) and wipe the USB storage and then reboot in recovery and do those 4 wipes, what I did, and then he mentioned that you could install your custom ROM, so I put the version of slimrom 4.2.2 on my sd card and launched it for installation.
However, the procedure started, but after a few seconds already my phone rebooted and now it is stuck at the logo of Semaphore...
What did I wrong? And what should I do?

Should I shut down my phone and try to put it in download mode again to put the JVU rom on it again via odin? is that the best strategy? Or should I do something else? and if that would work, what is then the best procedure to avoid such situations again?
nope, u did rite, but also wrong, ok, read carefully here....
flashing for upgrade is easy if u follow carefully, when in GB, after flashing CF ROOT, flashing to 4.0 (cm9) first (take da zip from cyanogenmod website) but luckily ur on 2.3.6 JVU (if u follow da link i gave), so it will be safe (safe procedure will be GB-ICS-JB), first flash will bootloop, second flash (sometimes) will occur error n third flash will succeed, which means u hav to flash twice or thrice or maybe 4 times! if its bootloop, go to recovery back by 3 button combo (its da matter of when u release da combo button, release it rite after u see da first white bootsplash)
bootloop cause by changing da partition tp ext4, its common
but if u already try to reach recovery n failed most times, u need to flash back firmware n cf root.

Ok, thanks!!!! this worked!!! I justed flashed cm9 and it works. So, if I understand well now, I can just return in recovery mode and install from zip from sd card to cm10 and then for instance to slimrom? Or between 'two' flashes, I need to follow the last part of the procedure in the link you gave me? So:
"Now, what I do now is go into :
Settings > SD Card and Storage > Unmount SD and Wipe that and then at the bottom Wipe Format USB Storage
Enable USB Debugging > Plug in Phone
Window should open up showing your phone Directory..
Copy over your ROM that you want
Shut Down Phone
Reboot into Recovery (Vol UP - Menu - Power)
Wipe the 4 things (probably know these... you should do)
Data / Factory Reset
Cache Partition
Go to Advanced > OK
Dalvik Cache
Battery Stats
Go Back > OK
To move Up or Down > Use the Left Side Volume Rocker Switches with Menu to OK Action
Install your Custom ROM from Zip Card that you want..."
OR: can I just go to recovery mode and do install from zip without doing that procedure with "wipe" etc?
Just to know, as I am just a newbie in these things!!! But I want to thank you once again for the clear explanations and the good help!!!!
juz flash mate , its easy, da important thing is to follow da sequence, thats all, juz flash, wiping cache or resetting juz for changing ROM. not upgrading
juz FLASH it
GB-ICS (twice)(do not leave recovery after second flash)-(any custom JB ROM u choose(twice or thrice))(make sure u already put da zip file in internalsd). dont need any wiping.
but FLASH AT UR OWN RISK,remember that.

Thanks!!!! Just one small question. I just flashed CM10 in recovery mode and first flash gave error, second went well. Then while still being in recovery mode I directly flashed slimrom and that went well from the first time. Do you always flash a second time to make sure that things went well or this is ok then?

as i already said, flash more than 2 times when upgrading, juz upgrading process. GB-ICS-JB (CM7-CM9-CM10/10.1) is upgrading process.
changing ROM not necessarily need double flashing, but u can do it if ur not satisfy whether da ROM already flashed or not

I will have a look there for that google play problem.
More problematic is that problem of IMEI. When I flashed from CM 9 to CM10 I did not do that wipe of cache and data as suggested above (the reply came later on), and then I flashed slimrom. That I forgot to wipe between CM9 and CM10, can that be the cause of wrong IMEI now? Is the solution now, to wipe cache and data, to flash again CM 10 and to flash then slimrom again?
Or should I just leave everything like that and do a recovery of my efs folder? If yes, any link for this?

[Q] can't access recovery after CWM 4.0.0.9 flash - Galaxy Ace GT-S5830 -please help!

Hi everyone,
I'm new so please be gentle with me -
Have just rooted my Galaxy GT-S5830
Running Gingerbread 2.3.4,
Baseband S5830BVKQB,
Kernel version [email protected]#1,
Build number GINGERBREAD.BVKQ9
using the file for the GT-S5830 from here: ( http://dengadgets.blogspot.co.uk/201...smarphone.html - root_S5830.zip) successfully, copying it to the root folder of the SD card and flashing it from recovery.
I Then tried to flash CWM 4.0.0.9 using the same method (which I got from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1168417 )
Now when I try and reboot in recovery it crashes at the Galaxy Ace screen, otherwise boots fine, and download mode still accessible - not sure why and am unsure about what to do about it. From reading a fair few Q+A posts I think I might need to flash the phone with stock rom using odin, but:
If I do will that wipe my data? (I have data on the phone that I really don't want to lose, particularly on memo - also can't backup on kies as support say the phone is too old and doesn't have that function available - backing it up is one of the main reasons why i'm going through this in the first place...)
Is there another way if it would wipe the data?
How do I avoid getting back in the same mess when flashing CWM?
If I do flash a stock rom / firmware with odin, does it have to be the one that was on there originally [France (Orange)] or can I use the latest UK one (with Gingerbread 2.3.5)?
I really apologise if this has been answered many times - i can't find it but would be grateful to anyone that can help / point me in the right direction
