Okay, I have just got this phone today, from a guy on craigslist and I think that the data cable he gave me is really really bad. I had it charging in the car through said cable with the car charger he gave me and it was fine. I come home and plug the phone into the computer and when i unplug it, it tells me the battery is critically low. I turn the phone off and back on and the level is good on it. So would this be the cable, the battery, or the charging port? I'm certain its the cable, but I just want to make sure and have another answer to this question. Thanks in advance, and if there is another thread about this, i'm sorry...

Well I'm at about 2% battery life, and it will not charge. I'm using my computer to charge it. Charging it from the wall hasnt worked for me for a while, not sure why.
Anyway I was wondering what it can be? I doubt my battery's dead or something is wrong with the phone... I'm sorry if this question's been answered, but I couldnt find an answer on google.
If USB charging works, but not charging with the AC adapter then the adapter is either bad, or plugged into a bad power outlet.
Nope it's neither of those because Ive tried two working AC ountlets and two warking cables. However, that's not my problem, my phone died and I can't charge it :-/
Ya so the phone died. It didn't look like it was going to charge on the USB, really weird. Anyone ever have there phone refusing to charge? While it was alive I tried to run activesync; that didn't work. So what should I do?
Btw, I've had the phone for a couple months now and I haven't had any big problems. I don't think it can be my phone failing, worst case just the battery. I've had something similar before but it fixed itself, doesn't look like thats happeneing now.

Maybe charging from the computer wasn't such a good idea. I recommend changing the battery and the charger and always be a nice boy and charge from the outlet ::- ).
I had the same thing happen to me - the connector at the bottom was broken. I had to do a return to factory. I looked (using a magnifying class) at the bottom of the phone and clearly see a crack in the connector.
It doesn't charge from the outlet.... I kinda just explained that lol

Hmm my connector does look a little bent. However it would of had to be like this before, and it was charging until I let my battery get to 5% :-/
I had a similar problem with my Kaiser a couple of weeks ago - it started to crawl and a soft reset took over 15 minutes to come back up to a working state, after which the battery wouldn't charge. It definitely wasn't the charger at fault as that still works on my TyTN. Phone was about 3 months old, so called Vodafone UK who seemed to think it was software related and so provided next day swap out. Old battery works in the new handset so never did get to find out if it was hardware or software that caused it to die.
Here's what probabally happened... you meant to stick you stylus in the reset hole and accidently put it in the usb hole... thus bending your charging port. I did it and when I plugged it into my car it would actually discharge the battery.. but when I plugged it into an outlet it just wouldn't charge.. if I were you I'd go see if it charges in a car
I appear to have a similar issue when charging from PC usb, and have identified that if I put pressure up or down on the charger it will charge the kaiser. But if plug in the charger without applying directional force it will not charge. Currently i have a small weight resting on the mini USB chargin input.
So obviously something up with the connector. But I haven't jammed anything up the usb port to my knowledge. Are these ports really that flimsy?
Tilt owners: If charge mechanism breaks, is ATT cool?
Oh no, now I can't charge or sync my Tilt.
My power is slowly running out.
What do I do? This is covered by manufacturers warranty in a year, is
ATT going to take my Tilt back and give me a new one?
I need my phone to be working and working well.
Thoughts?

Charging from the computer should be better than the wall, given that the USB ports on the computer have a 5.5v output, while wall chargers have 5v.
HI Guys
I have a Tytn II and recently I went abroad, and the phone said MM#6 phone not allowed.
Now I'm back in my home country, but now my phone will not charger from any charger ( I have tried more than 1), however it will charge ok using a car charger.
If I plug it into the PC , it does not detect the phone, I done a hard reset, and that didn't fix it.
Can anyone help me with this problem or any trouble shooting idea's.
Oh and I took the battery out and put it back in.
Thanks

The PC should charge it regardless if the OS knows what is going on. The phone will just pull the 5V off of the USB and charge the phone. It is not like some other phones (my motorola IDEN i335) that require a PC driver to be installed to charge. There may be something wrong with your PC or cable if it's not charging up. Have you tried wiggling the cable or blowing out the port? I have a few USB cables that require some attention in order to work. Hope that helps.
Hi there, thanks for your help.
I tried several USB cables, and chargers, some HTC chargers and a generic one, but none of them charge the phone up. I've tried wiggling the cable , blown air in it etc.
Its weird as it charges from the car charger no problem at all, just not off the PC , or a normal charger....arghh don't know what to do with it.

it won't charge off of a normal charger either?! Sounds like you have some black magic goin on
Hey there....
Nope wont charge off a normal charger
Wont charge off a USB cable
but WILL charge off a car charger.
Have you checked the HTC website? I was just there on another issue and seem to recall seeing something in the FAQs about this issue.
nope
thanks for the help bud, but that FAQ if for phones that charge off AC adapters but not of usb
mine doesnt charge ofan AC or a USB...ONLY a car charger
Hey there Xlt, What contry did you go to and what country are you from?
If you went to a country with a 220v and your charger only supports 110v you may of damage the charger and the phone with the voltage difference and vice visa.
The car charger may work because it is only coming from a 12v power supply, you could buy a adapter that lets you use the car charger in the home socket and then see if it works to see if it was the volt difference.
Hope that Helps
Hi there
I have recently lost my car charger and replaced it with e-bay one. However, I've noticed when charger is plugged in phone Is asking me if I want to run ActiveSync? Why is phone thinking that car charger is PC? Could this damage the phone?
The charger seems to charge if I ignore the message.
anyone.... someone must have seen this before
That just means the USB connector has the data pins. And the phone phone is detecting them when plugged in. Just ignore it. It won't hurt anything.
Hey Guys,
Can you tell me if my phone is screwed? I am starting to realize that its getting more difficult to charge my phone. When I plug it in, then it starts charging, but when I move the phone (like the cable where it connects) it easily disconnects. I thought it may be the cable, so I used another one and its the same thing! I believe its my charging port.
My fear is that if it gets worst, I cannot charge the best phone ever, and I just bought it.
Any ideas?
Could it also be the power socket? Does the charger plug fit in snugly?
So my galaxy gear one did not turn on this morning! No idea why! Any idea what to do? Odin and kies won't find it. Is it possible to get it repaired and how much would something like that cost me!

You need to charge it internally, This issue is mostly a battery problem, i had the same issue the Device it dead, or you can tell a store that the battery is dead, and if they can jump start it once again.
Just Charge it with Positive 1v and negative 1v cables to the pin sockets inside it, if you do not want to go do this, see if there is a Repair shop nearby.
Let me know if you need anymore help.
Regards

Can I buy or make me a cable like that?
Would it be ok if I cut a charging cable and switch the wires?
Plug it into a computer, somehow that works when my gear fully drains and wont charge with the normal charger
Mine went dead last week also, I've been researching threads and most say charging via USB from laptop or desktop (USB 2.0 seems to be preferred) will bring it back to life. I've also read about hair dryers being helpful. None of that worked for me.
I read earlier that separating the motherboard from the battery could be helpful. I just did that (literally 20 minutes ago) and while the screen isn't on, nor do I see any indication of charging, my computer let me know that a USB device was connected this time.
I'm leaving it sit overnight (I still haven't screwed the back back on yet) to see what happens.
Well I left it overnight and still no life. I've gone even further and completely removed the battery now and will leave it out of the watch for a while and reassemble it later tonight and then leave it overnight again fully assembled in the charger connected to my PC via USB.
Another day of charging via USB after completely removing the battery and still no sign of life. I think I'm giving up. The computer still recognizes something is attached but that's as far as I get.

All you need is two telephone wires the same type you would typically use in the USB Cable and Insert on the two copper sockets inside
Let me know if you need anymore assistance.
Mine completely overnight and then I didn't feel like charging for a few days. After a few days I went to go charge it and I could not get it to charge. I tried roughly 5-6 different chargers/cables and all sorts of different usb ports on laptops, car chargers, and nothing work. In middle of moving I took my chromecast off of my tv and remembered it was a microusb charger. Plugged it into my watch cradle and it came back on.
Connect your gear watch to USB port on your Notebook , after 5 min open charging cradle , while pressing gear watch to charging cradle try to turn on watch from power button with plastic card. After several attempts gear watch will turn on , close charging cradle and continue charging.
It seems to me there is a problem with the battery. Maybe you battery is dead. You need to remove the battery from your watch and keep it in the sun light for 15 min then try to charge it. If it doesn't work properly then contact with service center.
