I've been using CM7 since I had the phone 6 months ago.
Moved over to MIUI, based on a lot of people raving about it and the fact I fancied a change.
However.. I have SEVERE battery drain, like 12 hours with moderate use. Any idea what could be causing this? I used GetRil to make sure my baseband matches, and it does so I'm wondering what else it could be?
Any thoughts/input would be appreciated
Getting the same thing. I got the ROM just a couple hours ago, and though i've been downloading and non-stop using it for 2 hours or so, it's now at around 50% battery, which seems to be insanely fast drain.
I had no battery drain issues after flashing 823bb/v10d 725 ril ... try it

Anybody notice any changes as far as battery life. I just wanna know because im currently using a 1800 mAh battery (lost original battery) from ebay and they don't longer then stock. If you see any major changes i might just buy an OEM battery.
I did notice an increase in battery life when I upgraded to 2.3.5. I am a heavy user of my phone on a daily basis and it last about 5-6 hours longer from my experience.
Switching to V20p showed a very noticeable increase in battery life for myself.

The battery life has improved so much, I'm not getting the extended battery. Maybe a couple of regular batteries as the improvement easily takes my phone all day. Before update, it would only last 4-5 hours with usage.
I have to agree battery life has increased by quite a bit. My wife was getting severely pissed off at this phone because of battery life and other Froyo glitches and since updating she has yet to have any issues and stopped complaining about battery drain. Ahh the relief of not having to hear about how she hates the phone and wants it replaced Now lol. Hopefully we get to see ICS eventually, not that I am counting on it anytime in the near future and most likely not at all but still it's a nice thought lol.
better definitely. Not as good as the Rogers Samsung Galaxy S Captivate battery life though. Can't believe how much that one improved with the gingerbread update.
Had anyone else been seeing strange issues on the Rogers gingerbread update Ruth the battery stats? This morning after an hour off the charger battery was at 88% when viewing the battery usage it showed 15s on battery and that the only thing using it was the display and the percent was 165% I have a screen cap to upload later to show it.

Same here. My P925 have same problem. The stock ROM and ThiaiZO3D, which I am using, are same. It always show me less than 20s even after 24h.
Hi,
since a few days, about 10, my N7000 battery life is very short, something like half day or only a little more, it is 1 year old.
I tested 3 different ROMS (full wipe all times) but the result is the same, so I don't think this is due to that, always same modem XLT3.
What can I do to test my battery and to solve?
Is there any app that can tell me the true about my battery?
Can changing radio/modem be a solution? ... I don't think
Get a new battery. One year is pretty much the best you can expect from a Note battery.

Re: Short Battery Life
Change to a better ROM or change your battery. That's the only way
What ROM are you using? You can check it through AnTuTu battery test. And half a day battery life is really very decent for a one year old battery if you're using the phone continuously. You can use apps like greenify to limit background processes and increase battery performance. These are short term solutions as the battery is quite old. So buy a better battery as a long term solution and never overcharge.
faced a similar problem few days back......my note's batttery just gave up.....100 to 10 percent when you use 3g network for 30 minutes. screen flickering....black lines etc.
So had to change my battery...after changing everything is normal. Battery backup is again more than a day
I used to get better battery on KK than i get on LP, now after the 30 mb update that came a few days ago, my battery is even worse. its not as good as it used to be. is there any other solution other than wiping cache/factory reset to solve this issue? also how do i calibrate the battery on this phone?
My battery used to be bad, with a bad deep sleep, but it actually is pretty good and I haven't any bad thing to say about it.
It just became good somehow.
All right I guess. Did wipe cache yesterday but no difference. Tried a battery calibration app now. Let's see what happens. Any other tips would he appreciated

My battery has been pretty bad for the past few weeks. I'm not sure why. Nothing really seems to stand out as a hog.
Mine was struggling to get 16-20 hrs moderate use pre & post update. Called Motorola and they sent me a new phone, now constantly seeing 30-40 hrs moderate use. Weekends 2-3 days.
For such a huge problem.. I didnt notice this issue posted anywhere prior to purchasing a used version of this device.. Is there currently a fix for this? Im getting close to an hour or so in battery life daily.
Thanks!
For the past 2 months I have been using all the 6.0.1 ROMs and I hardly get around only 4 to 5 hours sot with those, but I remember of getting around 6 to 7 hrs sot with the earlier version 6.0 so I decided to switch to a 6.0 ROM again and there we go the battery life tends to get way better ,I just want to know whether its happening only for me or its a bug in 6.0.1?
Heck, I was on chroma since 5.0 and all the way till 6.0.1, could not get more than 2,5 hours of SOT and 6 hours of STAND BY no matter what kernel configuration I tried, changing kernels, Naptime... Decided to try Pure Nexus and fortunately now I get around 4 hours SOT with 10 hours StandBy, using HellsCore kernel. I agree that on 6.0 the battery was waaaay better, like 6 or 7 hours SOT and 2 days stand by. Any solutions?
you guys do realize that battery life is all dependent on your use, your setup, and your quality of signal? right? before 6.0.1 I got 5-6.5 hours sot daily, depending on what I was doing, and after 6.0.1 I am getting the exact same battery life. so, how you setup your device is also very important. I keepy brightness down at about 5-10%. and every time I raise my brightness by about 30%, I'll lose one hour of sot.

I use the exact same setup for every rom I use,but this battery life difference is humongous between 6.0.1 and 6.0 roms which is almost 2 hours of sot !!

again, rom doesnt determine battery life, at all. battery life is determined by your use, you apps installed, your setup, and your signal quality. sure, you might get an occasional wakelock ruining your battery, but its mostly determined by those factors. maybe your signal quality just sucks now?
I have noticed this too ... same setup and usage as before was wondering why I needed to charge so much
I'm on 6.0.1 (MMB29S), rooted, with Xposed running only Gravitybox, and I get over 6 hours (with brightness dialed down to about 40%). I could probably get even more SOT if my radio signal wasn't as crappy as it is.
