short battery life - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
since a few days, about 10, my N7000 battery life is very short, something like half day or only a little more, it is 1 year old.
I tested 3 different ROMS (full wipe all times) but the result is the same, so I don't think this is due to that, always same modem XLT3.
What can I do to test my battery and to solve?
Is there any app that can tell me the true about my battery?
Can changing radio/modem be a solution? ... I don't think

Get a new battery. One year is pretty much the best you can expect from a Note battery.

Re: Short Battery Life
Change to a better ROM or change your battery. That's the only way

What ROM are you using? You can check it through AnTuTu battery test. And half a day battery life is really very decent for a one year old battery if you're using the phone continuously. You can use apps like greenify to limit background processes and increase battery performance. These are short term solutions as the battery is quite old. So buy a better battery as a long term solution and never overcharge.

faced a similar problem few days back......my note's batttery just gave up.....100 to 10 percent when you use 3g network for 30 minutes. screen flickering....black lines etc.
So had to change my battery...after changing everything is normal. Battery backup is again more than a day

[Q]Use the Galaxy Without the Battery?

Is there anyway to use the Galaxy Ace Without the Battery?
I am having damn bad battery life (lasts just 10 hours on plain standby and with usage lasts abt 2-3 hours)
and I let it rest out of the phone for 12 hours
and it runs better now...
(I changed 5 ROMS and 6 kernels, and did full wipes including battery stats
so no it's not a problem of calibration or overclocking)
So I'm thinking is there anyway I can run this android
on only the Charger without the battery?
Also if anyone can tell me what might be creating the battery problem?
I guess time to buy a new battery?? 2-3 hours sucks mate. Even i get 5-6 hours with a hell of a data usage.

battery life

hey guys
in the last couple of weeks ive flashed about 5 roms which consider to be good.
i have to say I really like android but one issue keeps me frustrated
and thats battery life.
how can it be that my friends iphone battery lasts so much more then my galaxy s1?
ive gone through numeros guides decreased brightness to minimum
stopped syncing my gmail account and other stuff as well.
as time goes by im regreting not buying iphone when i had the chance
because battery is one of the most important things in a smartphone.
currently,
i am 25 years old student studying computer science in the university
which means im out most of the day.
its not that rare for me to be stuck without battery and its so frustrating.
i ask for your help please,
what is the best rom for s1 regarding battery life
and has hebrew on it?
(im from israel)
thanks alot mates!
Have you ever calibrated it after flashing?

Dropping to 0% is the worst thing a LI-ION battery can experience.
There are some calibrations methods around, you can try some apps but I think you ROM just needs some time to calibrate the battery sign. Are you running a zillion of apps in the background?
Another option is to buy a new battery with more power. stock battery has 1500mah. but you can get a battery with 1800mah for your s1.
Did you wipe battery stats in cwm?
Disable mobile data or switch to 2G only it helps a lot. Phone will drain battery if you have a bad signal
I have to second the disable the data connection recommend. Also your battery life will get better the longer you use a rom and the more charge/discharge cycles your battery sees. To be clear that does not mean 100%-0% every time just regular charging.
I'm personally on GB and with data disconnected for most of the day and the 1800mah battery I have been on the same charge for almost a week and still have 30% left. It's truly amazing!!

Dropping below the minimum voltage is what you're talking about, and that's not possible because of the controller on each battery. That's why the phone dies when it hits 0% (or thereabouts) even though it still has plenty of power left over to run the device. Running a full cycle on the battery will be just fine.

[Q] My SGS is extremely draining, battery weak? [cm10, sema2.5]

Hey people,
I have an Galaxy S i9000 wich is about 2-3 years old.
Since a year my battery is draining a little fast, but since a month its sick and frustrating because it last -+3 hours when using whatsapp/music 70% of the time (7 hours with less use).
Thats not nice, and I thought my battery could getting weaker becaue my phone is almost 3 years old*.
ROM: Cyanogenmod 10, 4.1.2
Kernel: Semaphore 2.5, I9000XXJVT
I don't think it's just the rom, Android 4.0 was draining also (but still better battery life in comparisation with 4.1.2...)
Now my question is, do you think purchase a new battery for the I9000 will solve this problem?
Thanks in advance
lajostkm
It seems that the problem is the battery itself, i would try to replace it
Had the same case as you (even same rom and kernel) and i changed the battery... now it's a lot better with almost 24hrs of battery use between one charge to another

It's possible your battery has degraded but you can install the Better Battery Stats app to get a better idea of what is eating so much battery.
Thank you, I will purchase a new battery soon. One more question, are the smartphone batteries (SKU: 59974) from DealExtreme good? I mean, this is from a Chinese wholesale site (made in China) so I'm not sure about good battery performance.

Does a damaged battery affect performance?

Hello
I wanna ask if a damaged battery can affect performance of my S3 Mini and what's the average time the phone is able to stay charged with a completely new battery. My battery time sucks (i get max 9 hours if I don't do almost anything on my SMARTphone ). So will replacing my battery solve some of the lag on my device and how many hours should I expect from the newly purchased battery with average usage (max 2 hours music, a few phone calls, max 1 hour gaming-small games mainly and sometimes web surfing). Thanks to anyone that replies. Cheers
EDIT : My battery also heats up to 36-39 degrees celsius while just playing Soccer Stars while listening to music from PowerAmp. I think this isn't even close to normal. If a new battery solves all these issues, I'm willing to buy the best one (presumably original by Samsung)!
EDIT 2 : My phone charges from 1% to 50% for about 30 mins
:bump: for help

Maybe you have a super charger joke make sure that your battery isn't swollen. And yes a battery can affect to performance and hardware. If you use very long a damaged battery then it also cause hardware problem. One time this happen to me on my old LG phone. The battery always got more swollen, so i bought a new battery but only 1 month later was the new battery also swollen like the original battery. It was a hardware problem and i still have this phone with a swollen battery
you should use pure stock rom beacuse most of the custom roms have some battery and voltage tweaks which can cause hardware problem if problem persists then replace your battery
Thanks for your help guys. Recently I tried pure stock ROM, but it was the same, plus I kinda love custom ROMs, which have more battery time What would you suggest I buy as a new battery - an original one specifically for my GT-I8190 or the Ace II battery (which is cheaper) is of the same quality as an original S3 Mini battery ? My current one is for the Ace II (it's the second battery I've changed on this phone)!
if the s3 mini battery is not much more then go with that & see if there is much difference

[N9208] Battery can't even survive half a day on normal use

Hello, I'm a new user on xda (but actually a longtime reader). I finally decided to upgrade to Nougat with OTA updates. My device works perfectly fine, except for the battery. I have another android running rooted stock Motorola nougat with similar apps and usage and able to survive until midnight with 15% battery left on on medium use, while my Note 5 can't even survive half a day on light usage.
In battery usage stats, most battery use percentage is the screen, followed by device idle. I don't use LTE with hope it can help, and using 720p resolution to see wether it can also help. The screen on time lies around 3-4 hours but the standby drain is very annoying.
My device has never been rooted. I'm considering flashing a rom if it can help the battery issue, but I use the S-pen a lot and don't want to lose its functionallity by using a rom without the S-pen apps. Right now I'm considering flashing a ported version of Note FE rom by RadeonMaya. Is it good for these purpose?
Any idea on what to do?
The Note5 is over 3 years old, don't expect good battery life. Even when new it was bad. 3-4 hours of Screen time is A-W-E-S-O-M-E. I only get 2 max.

Thanks. Perhaps i'll consider buying a battery case or something.
Get the battery replaced. I did mine myself and it's like a new phone again
