Hi,
Seeing as the notification status bar widgets/toggles were popular features in cm7 roms and much sought-after in ICS roms, and wanting to experience ICS in its stock form before trying any custom roms, I went about trying to find a way to get status bar toggles back because they're really convenient for switching things on/off (eg rotation) without having to leave an app. Widgetsoid, an app obtainable from the android market, suits my needs, placing no-frills one-touch toggles in my notification bar, and handily having an option to hide the ongoing notification icon so my status bar remains 'pure'. This way I can get cm-like settings whilst keeping to the more stable (imo) and stock rom. Free version is here and donate version is here.
I'm not affliated with this app or its maker in any way, just thought I'd share something that made my life a little easier/my phone a little better.
Cheers and a late Merry Christmas to all!
I agree it is great. I was looking for a transparent control panel widget and couldn't find something decent.
This is really great, it works like a charm.
Wow, it doesn't work on GB (I have to tap the notification to open the popup, then do the actual toggle) If it works on ICS then that's a really good news!

Now the only issue is I cannot really "hide" the notification icon. It is transparent but it is there. If there are other notification icons, it will look like there is a "space" in the notification area
Oh that's cool, I didn't realize that Widgetsoid would do that. I wished I could make the custom color stick though...
Very nice, I was using Widgetsoid for months and didnt know that. The colors are a little ugly but it works well in the notification bar.

AFAIK in order for the toggles to stay there it has to be an 'ongoing' notification, which means the icon has to stay there, so the next best alternative would be an invisible, transparent icon

The colours were annoying me too, so I emailed the dev, hopefully he's able to get a fix or update of sorts! Setting the toggle indicator to 'dot' makes it less 'in your face' imo.

Yeah I kinda understand that part.
Just wonder if it's possible to make the icon "always in the rightmost position" so it doesn't appear between or in front of other notification icons?
Colors are not that bad with setup like this... Only thing I can't change is backgroud (I would put it to transparent, but there's no such option) everything else is configurable....

Thanks for the tip. I tried this before on my HTC Hero, but as mentioned in a post above I had to open up a popup first in ordere to enable anything. This is so cool now.
I've been using Widgetsoid pretty much since I got my Nexus. I can't belive I forgot about that option... Used to have it on my HS on GB, but now I've got it tucked away in notifications!
thanks!
ps. not sure if he'll reply to, I did send in a detailed bug report once and I didn't get any response from him. last I checked he hasn't updated since april '11

I was trying to get it to do the same blue color as ICS uses. I used a screenshot to pull the color but when I type it in the custom box it doesn't actually change to that color.
Can Widgetsoid toggle data on ICS rooted ?
How about "extended control"?

I got blue color of the icons, but didn't like how it looks on grey background, so I decided to go with black icons... I didn't copy color code, but just changed the color on color chooser to look as much as possible blue as ICS default... It did look same (at least to me), but, as I said, didn't like blue/grey combination...

This looks pretty awesome man, Thnx, I am at work so I wont be able to test it out until I get home. Quick question do the signal bars change color? Like red, green, blue? etc? Donation coming your way soon.
Not bad! I'll definitely jump in once the battery meter is fixed.

I actually believe that the signal icon isn't changing right now but should be a simple fix wifi icon DOES change colors though.
I am going to try to update this a little every night I get a chance so more and more it will look like s0niqu3's release.
Edit: Signal icons and battery should be fixed in next release.
just want to make sure, but what if i have another rom installed? i'm assuming if it runs noobs rom i should be ok with other roms but asking to make sure. thanks
If the rom you are using is running off DI07 and the /system is deodexed then it should install fine, BUT I do not know for sure. Worse case scenario if it doesn't work simply reflash Rom you are using.
v0.2 released, battery as % 1-100 and charging battery fixed. Also, signal colors fixed.

Sweet love themes!! love color
Been stuck at work all day, finally heading home. Looking forward to this. Qucik question in terms of the signal bar colors, 1 and 2 are red? 3 and 4 are yellow? and 5 and 6 are blue? Oh and is there anyway we can make the WIFI Green at full instead of Blue? 3LL02152UE603813E send a little thanx for your efforts your way, not a lot, but hey u can buy a beer lol, Liking the theme, one thing I noticed is my battery is a little off, and the would like to keep the stock bar and dropdown fonts and icons. Really like the regular one that comes stock with the phone.
Yeah no problem wifi to green will be easy, stock dropdown buttons easy as well, the font should be stock as this download doesn't change the font but if u had a different theme on before this font is still that theme. Next release ill include the stock fonts in the update.zip.
Also, only bar 1 is red, 2 and 3 are yellow and 4 5 and 6 are blue I did this cause well I thought 2 bars wasn't quite a red situation but could change if you wanted.

Dont want to make you feel like im asking for a lot lol, Not my intention but IF you can add those changes, I think would make the theme even better than it is. Again that is my opinion others might disagree. One thing I was meaning to ask was if we could switch the Settings page to look more like the evo 4Gs settings, that would be cool. Or maybe we can use these battery icons and 3G and 4G Icons instead of the soniques one. Included a pic of the Evo settings page.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=768848
I will try to implement those changes in v0.4. Let me know your thoughts on v0.3.
Definetly getting better and closer to what I was looking for. Thanx for all the work again. Anyway here's what I meant with the dropwdown bar, colors are off, I would prefer to just have the stock one. Again thnx for the work u are putting into this. Noticed the color and font are not the stock fonts? Btw I am using Andromedias Rom.

Just to save another error you want icons and settings(please explain what you mean by settings further) from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=768848
And you want the notifications dropdown to be the stock(vibrant stock or epic stock?) Also from that picture you provided I believe that is stock epic fonts(once again do you mean vibrant?) but I could be wrong, if you have a link or a screenshot of exactly what you want that would help.
Just let me know if this is what you were wanting, and if there is anything else you wanted.

Heres the settings I was speaking about.

I was looking for this 3G and Battery Icon from this theme if you can. If you cant, the stock ones are fine.
http://s402.photobucket.com/albums/...action=view¤t=deviceBlueHighlights2.png
Heres a Photo of my stock dropdown box. Noticed How the notification bar is dark black. and where it says notifications is not as hard to read as before?
http://twitpic.com/2r3348
All those Icons for the 3G, 4G, AND Battery you can get from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=768848
his theme is awesome by the way.
The settings color is not the color you wanted still, and the battery and 3g 4g icons were a bit more complicated than I expected. The battery in the download doesn't have each individual % so if you want that battery I would have to go through and do it myself. The 3g icons just need to be renamed and replaced, and there are no 4g icons? I am sure I just need to look a bit harder.
Either way let me know what you think.
Thank you. Tried v0.3 and love it, will upgrade to v0.4.
One minor request if possible... Can you please make the battery percentage font fatter/thicker? The existing font is little hard to read, thicker font would probably solve the minor issue.
Once again, THANK YOU!!
Version 4 is Pretty GOOD, If you can get the battery from the other theme it would be awesome, Looking forward to having the settings page theme. Awesome work man.
Hey man, wondering how this is coming along. Keep up the great work.
I worked all weekend si not much has been done but I am planning on continuing this until a v1.0.
Thought it was time for a more generalized release for this theme, I have been incubating it in the Nook Color apps and themes forum to keep the test audience small.
END OF LIFE
I do not have any devices running CM7 any longer, so I cannot continue development on this theme - being A) I have no way to test the builds -and- B) It's not very fun developing something you don't personally use
Sorry for that people... I hope to continue creating themes once the theme chooser for CM9 gets baked in. Until then I hope people can continue enjoying this theme as is.

Thanks, the Legacy Alpha 3.1 should work on phones but there are probably better Ice Cream Sandwich themes aimed at phones, specifically the one by Sonny Sekhon. My Ice Cream Sandwich theme redirects the status_bar.xml and the status_bar_extended.xml and because of that it's pretty tablet specific...
Can you post a version with the previous menu button please? I loved how you had rotated it sideways; it makes more sense with the way menus look and it looks great on the nook.

It works now with your new build, no problem with the status bar. Thank you very much for your time.
Seems there is a slight problem when descending the bar (like loosing the transparency when the bar going down) but certainly will be corrected!
Because in Greece the time is 2.15 am, I will say from tomorrow with more details.
The theme is fantastic and very few corrections that I think will be the best available over ..
Goodmorning joenathane from Athens!
Returning to explain what goes wrong in the status bar:
Not appears the logo of the mobile and (not appears) the title "No Notifications" or "On going". Once down the bar, displays a gray screen, which seems to cover the above and all on going notifications. Instead, the buttons (wifi,bt etc) appear above transparent. This is the only "bug" i see. I hope it was perceived.

1.Music.apk
2.Removing the seperator lines in the settings
3.StatusBar ofcourse, You'll work on it..
4.Changing Overscroll Glow Effect and scroll bar to Blue color
5.If possible Theme Google music

I hope if u can do this Your theme can have a bright future
Here are the screens
And once again nice work on the transparency(Love it)

Hi. This mod is beautiful, but.........
Can be made transparent onscreen buttons?
That would show real size of the display.
I hope that if someone can make a transparent notification, it may be possible with the buttons.
Perhaps a version with 30%, 40% or 50%.
I'm sure a lot of people would have liked.

As I said, you must use a launcher which supports transparent navigationbar, and stretches the wallpaper all the way down. Apex should work fine.

Just asking but did you include a function that get rid of the status bar? One time, *something* happened and the status bar disappeared. Had no idea what happened, didn't know how to get the status bar so I just rebooted. Problem fixed but I liked to know exactly what I did that made the status bar disappeared.

Ah, okay. Must be something else then. On anotyer hand, you need to resize the google sync icon. Its too big and looks kind of weird.
Thanks for your work dude!!
Only problem are the transparencies. Are very hight and is very difficult to read notifications. A port with standart ICS icons and the notification panel music player widget removed would be awesome!!!

Just a couple of suggestions. Could you remove the panel that tells you your mobile operator. I think everyone would know who their mobile operator is so that just uses up space.
Also, customisable widgets like CM9 would be great.

Actually, I like the current battery icon. The ICS one is just plain and boring. The lightning symbol when charging isn't the best but its okay. The only thing ICS has better is the battery percentage thing but that seems be too hard to implement.
for next update, i just trying to be fix text notif background, some anoying big icons on status bar and remove music bar widget, but still using Sense style. then i'll try to use ICS style for the next third update
many things/ mod i wanna share for dedicated to L3 users, who's can't feel the taste of ICS for screen problem reason

Just updated and there are no problems. The notification colour looks awkward but that doesn't matter. Also, GINGER ICE? I'm curious as to what that is...

Also do u have any way of porting trechbuet launcher to stock rom so i can get persistent search bar on stock rom. thnx
Need some advices from you guys, for the next update V2

i'm in progressing for Stock ROM customizing exactly. it's JellyBean themed

sry, this looks wrong...
Hey everyone,
I just got my Mi Mix and noticed on the HOME SCREEN, the navigation bar on the bottom is transparent/black - but when you go INTO an application (likes Whatsapp or Reddit), the nav bar turns WHITE.
It's a bit annoying because i use a dark theme on the Reddit is fun app, so the nav bar just sticks out hugely
Does anyone know a way to keep the navigation bar transparent or black permanently through all apps ? Or is there a free theme on the Mi store that people have good luck with?
Thanks!
if you root and install xposed it is easy to change it to whatever you want.
first thing i'll do when/if this phone ever arrives is install xposed and get rid of the nav bar all together and only use pie controls, makes things much easier on a big phone as well

thanks for the suggestion but I didn't bother unlocking and rooting this thing. I guess i just dont have as much time as before to tinker around anymore. Is there a way to do it without rooting?
@Bakedbread
Try Emoji Color Navbar in the Google Play Store.
Just loaded it up to get the navigation bar to be black system wide (color is fully customizable) ,no root required.
Edit:
Seems to be persistent only on the home screen & YMMV on other apps, sorry 'bout that.

Go into settings and buttons and select hide nav then it will be come transparent
On homescreen it seems to be transparent, some applications are able to change it to black (or according to the app's color), but in settings and most apps it stays white unfortunately.

Did anyone find a decent way round this without root?
You have to unlock the device [bootloader], root it and then modify some files to make these options available. Xpose has a module that does these things too, still requires bootloader unlock and root.
What's the name of the xposed?
Flat Style Colored Bars seems to be able to make this job... can adapt color based on main color or you can assign a primary color persistent...
I usee to version designed to adapt google keyboard on main color of each apps... wonderfull

Doesn't work for me. What exactly do you have to select to make the navigation bar color transparent?

It doesn't make fully transparent, actually tints the nav bar to get matching the color of background app which feels like transparent. But either way looks better than black bg.
Im done with nav bar since I found Smart touch button app though; resizeable, personalizable(icon, transparency), can be placed everywhere, lots of gestures and holding less place on the screen.
