Well from Samsung based roms try Simplicity or Tornado rom. If you are using CM or MIUI try latest Glitch kernel.
Hit thanks if this helped...

So, if we follow your advice, we would have a look to GingerReal2 rom ?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1155623
All the best from custom rom regarding performance, root access, ...
but no fancy shiny fireworks and themes (which would slow it down)

[Q] 364MB kernel-partial port from Sammy to ICS

I have a simple question. Is it possible to port the changes Sammy made to his kernel (364MB) into ICS kernels?
At this moment, with Devil's kernel, we have 327MB... that would be 37MB MORE
That would be pretty cool, because more available RAM in total is always better

I've mispelled the thread name.
Now its corrected

we already have kernels with more than 364mb ram... check out i9000 development section bro!!!
I don't want a BIGMEM kernel which breaks 720p rec/play....

Check, for example, SlimICS thread. About 387 mb of ram and AFAIK everything is working nicely. It isn't traditional big mem kernel etc..
Sent from my sandwiched SGS
720p now works with every build + bigmem kernel, if you install a patch via CWM. You can find the patch it developement section. midnight kernel brings you most RAM (384). I can't say that changes user experience dramatically, but helps.
ram
try devil 2_0.62 kernel which come with 390 mb ram without any problem.........there is another version with 402 mb ram but it break 720 hd video recording
Yeah, using xL BM devil for now, no 720,but i dont use video recording
Thank you guys, I've found the kernel by myself
I've used devil before (best kernel for me ) and I'm happy to have 390MB ram without breaking anything.
I already said to him, that I would kiss him, if I where a girl xD
This community is so great
Now I can wait a little bit more, before I will buy a newer phone.

[Q] downgrade

hey,
i'm running android 4.2.1. unfortunately i forgot which rom... anyways. i feel like jelly bean is too laggy for me so i thought about going back to ics. my question is: how do i do that? should i just flash an ics rom via cwm or do i have to run a specific protocoll?
thanks!
AW: [Q] downgrade
You can see what ROM you have in Settings --> About.
I think it's like a common clear/clean ROM flash, where you have to clear chache, data, dalvik, ...?
And always hit the "Thanks" button ;DD

right, thanks, i'm running c-rom mix v5
you should backup your whole sdcard
as while downgrading to ics usually the internal sdcard gets formatted
AW: [Q] downgrade
But I just flash it via cwm?

Just take a look at your ICS Rom page
i agree that u should backp your internal sd card as there is a POSSIBILITY that your SD card gets formatted so as I advice dont take the risk and backup ALL your SD card

Good to know you got your phone running smoother now. I'm just wondering why you experienced lag in C-RoM Mix v5 which is also based on Hellybean sources.
I previously used this C-RoM Mix v5 and i found it very fast and smooth.
Anyway, enjoy with your new Rom.

[KERNEL] Mokee Kernel !!NOT MY WORK!!

NOT MY WORK. THIS IS KERNEL OF MOKEE OS
Hey Guys. I extracted the important things of Mokee OS. Boot image and Modules and i packed them together in a zip. The zip was from iodak v8.
Nothing is compiled from me so there is no source code. Its just packed as Kernel-Only from Mokee OS.
Features:
Smartass v2 Govenor
Gaming Gouvenor
Speed Tweaks from Mokee.
The Kernel performs very well playing games! No zero Lag in Dead Trigger 2. DONT USE SMARTASSV2 it will just turn your 4x in very hot toaster
CM10.2 compatible and no phone fc in newer nightlys! Based on Mokee OS from 26th October
Im not a developer maybe a modder so i cant fix bugs....only way to fix is to repacking it with other modules blabla

I think the thread will be closed from Moderator when he see this because no GPL or Source.
I know that is from Mokee but Moderator.

Only Mokee developers? Interesting. I can see commits from more than one developer from 4X HD boards. They should be included too, don't you think?
Just as a general note, pure shares (not developed by the OP) should either go into General section or Themes&Apps (depending on what you are sharing )
But as it is a kernel, we moved it in here, instead of General
And about MoKee in General, well... let's forget about it

I mean it's not worth discussing
All the time I have been @ xda, i haven't seen one properly, self-developed kernel.
All kernels I have seen were cherry-picked, and "sold" under their own name
Ahh okay
now i get what you mean
I think that is the shadow side of the the open source things of android and sometimes its the light size

[Discussion] Too many ROMS, which one are you using and why ?

Currently on full stock MM, pretty happy but will soon start flashing
Stock ROM since I don't want to trip KNOX.
Dr Ketan's N7 port as it is not only the most popular ROM for the note 4 snapdragon on here but it also has everything that I could wish for. Smart screen works perfectly on it, can push cerberus into system with no problems, links2sd works flawlessly, no crashes or freezes and the only rooted ROM that android pay works on as well. Its only slight downside is the relatively short SOT that I get from the battery but that is a minor complaint given the amount of apps (400+) and goodness that I enjoy getting from it.

M6 has a slightly better battery life but has no smart screen functionality that I always need and so I am on M12 (latest).

Ah okay enjoy :good:
erobot v19 has easily been the best rom out there for the Exynos variant. DN7 based roms are very battery draining and all-round very inefficient along with the endless numbers of bugs present due to the original e-team stopping development mid-way. Erobot v19 along with Samsung Good-Lock has done wonders, it is amazing for battery life (better than stock), and you have the option to use different Ui's ported from the Galaxy Note 7 and 5, as well as from the Galaxy S7. Not only this, but the rom is rock stable and super fast!

How did you managed to downgrade ? Simply flashed a KK firmware ?
I guess the real benefits (for many) would be a rom will all of the following:
1) with VoLTE support (to be able to switch modem to 4G-only, which will save A LOT of battery),
2) always-on display,
3) with the ability to enable/disable 4G only (and particular bands).
4) 7.1.1, to have the latest version.
not sure which rom would it be...
Dr.ketan M6 s7edge rom is still 1 of the best rom so far i tried every single rom available and i am still loving this rom.
Latest from Alexndr. Always works well and he keeps updating regularly ... Best ROM I've found
