[Q] Onecosmics ics colors - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i have Onecosmic ics rc1 and everything works fine,but i notice that the colors aren't as bright as they should be.. is a little yellowish even when brightness at 100%.. is there a fix for that or that's the way it should be ??

Did you flashed Fugu kernel with VoodooColor or without?
I suggest you to try both, to see difference.

i flashed all of them and i dont see any difference.. ive flash the one with voodoo color and sound and the one with color only, but still the same.. i dont even get the voodoo app..

ICS with bluish low colour
Hi,
I Have the same issue, mine shows bluish low colour. i flashed both kernels with same results more so...
Model = i9000
Android Version = 4.0.3
BB = I9000UGKG3
Kernel = 3.0.8-FuguMod
any suggestions please? :|

Okay here is a little update. (Its not a complaint as i know it'll be resolved hopefully)
I flashed the Voodoo Color Kernel and there was a significant difference.
The "Yellowish" tint was gone.
But while at 0% Brightness, the screen is Darker than usual ... Its just as Dark as it is on a SpeedMod Kernel ... which is, lets just say ... NOT GOOD FOR EYES AND BATTERY.
The screen looks satisfactorily better above 0% Brightness. I have noticed that if you keep the Brightness Level in/around 10% ... you will feel the difference.

EDIT: My Apologies
Yellowish Tint is STILL THERE
It took me a while to notice it.
But this time (i mean after flashing the Voodoo Color Kernel), the Yellowish Tint was quite less than before.
However, while using the "Flash Light Utility" ... it displays a 100% WHITE, which makes me assume this Yellowish Tint has something to do with "Theming" as the Phone Itself (after flashing OneCosmic's ICS) is display the colors just fine.

well i think ill have to wait for the next onecosmic's release or kernel fix or something like that..

I haven't used Voodoo a lot, but you should download Voodoo app from market and try to figure colors with that.

I am using voodoo app but not able to see the colors option in that...
I have checked and the kernel I downloaded was the one with voodoo sound and voodoo colors..
Am I missing something?

voodoo sharpness?

i bought my captivate right when it came out, and im right now rooting an out-of-the-box captivate that's on the stock rom and i'm noticing that the stock captivate has a significantly sharper screen than mine that has a kernel that has voodoo sharpness fix installed
what exactly is the voodoo sharpness supposed to fix, because i did notice that i DIDNT notice any sharpness after installing voodoo
Apparently stock is over calibrated causing a slight dark halo around text. However, I too think that stock still looks better in that respect.

Devices brighter than others

i'm using cyanogen #104 when i tried another galaxy s of a friend i found that colors are brighter and the white color appear more whiter with the same brightness level
i installed cm7 104 to his device also and it's the same
there is no screen protecter or otherthing like that
when i removed the battery i found that my phone is made by samsung
and his phone is made in korea by samsung
i think this all are related to kernels and rom......i think you try someother rom and with galaxian kernel then see....i hope this is due to cm7.

CM7 rom with bad image quality? (picture)

I am not sure if it is the general CM7 or the rom I installed based on CM7 (Cyanofortomorrow 1.2)
Every screen image I see from this rom is showing heavy gradation at
deep colors which did not appear on stock roms.
It is clearly showing less dynamic range in every image,games,videos. I am not sure if it is the CM7 general issue or the Cyanofortomorrow 1.2 issue.
Is there a fix for this?
It is not so strong on the PC screen, but it looks really bad on the phone.

[Q] Screen flickers, green tint, ICS.

Hi guys, I did some searching and couldn't find a fix so here goes:
Often when I put my phone to sleep (tap power-button) the screen turns black, then green again for half a second or so after the "screen off visuals".
I did some searching and it is similar to this "common issues" post:"Screen turns unusual colors / flickers colors when going to sleep or waking." http://code.google.com/p/ice-cream-sandwich-sgs/wiki/CommonIssues
The only thing is, Voodoo control app is now Voodoo sound plus and doesn't have a "Gamma offset" option anymore.
Does anyone know a tool that has Gamma Offset options, or any other fix to this issue for that matter?
It's not a big thing, as my phone is working fine, but I wanted to research it a bit further.
It has happened to me through many different ROMs, mainly ICS roms, but I am currently running ICS333 v.2.0.1 ICS 4.0.4, with the newest Devil Kernel for ICS.
*BUMP* in hope of info/help
- sorry mods if this is unacceptable.

Green tint on screen

Hi there,
There is a green tint in the right part of the screen, it's more noticeable in low light and grey colors. Using PA Rom, but I think is not related to it. I use 66 hz screen oc, but the problem persists in 60 hz too.
Searching in the web I've found that may be burned due to oc, but in the forums people have been using it for a long time without issues at higher hz. I found a forum with a man with the same issue in miui stock without screen oc, but it got fixed, so maybe it's software related.
I think I'm going to flash stock miui and see if it happens again.
Anyone with the same issue?

Yep, that's what I think. :crying::crying::crying:
I'm thinking about flashing stock and use the garanty. But in daylight or light theme is not visible. Probably I'll wait to see if it get worse to contact the seller.
