Please help me!
i wanted to flash a rom so i rooted the P1000 tab
this is wath i did :
Sync with Kies
1. Download the Samsung Kies Software from here and install it to your computer.
2. Open Kies
3. Connect your device to your computer via USB cable.
4. Unplug the Tab.
5. Go to Settings > Applications > Development > and check USB Debugging ON.
6. Plug the Tab back in via USB cable and leave Kies open. It should try to connect to it this time and start installing drivers.
7. Once it installs the drivers, close Kies (regardless of whether it actually connected to the device or not).
III. Root it Using SuperOneClick
1. Download the SuperOneClick App from here.
2. Extract the SuperOneClick .zip file.
3. With the phone still plugged in from Section II, right click the SuperOneClick app and Run As Administrator (if no such option exists, just click Open).
3. When it opens, click on Root and wait 5 minutes for it to finish.
then i did this:
Patch the Bootloader
1. Once you have root access, download the following apk file and save it to your computer.
Bootloader Patch
2. Plug in your tab via USB cable and mount the storage so we can transfer files to it.
3. Copy the apk file over to the root of your storage.
4. On your tab use a file explorer (Astro File Manager from the Market works well) and select the .apk file to begin installing it. Follow the prompts that come up to install it.
5. Once installed, open it and it will check to see if you even need the patch. If it says you do, it will allow you to click the Patch Bootloaders option. Select that and wait for it to finish.
i hit reboot and the screen goes black it does nothing anymore
please tell me that i don't have to send it away
I Can't Say How HAPPY I AM!!!!!!
I look at the dead screen and BAM there is a big battary : it boots
and it won't boot again how do i fix this guys?
Odin or hemindall. Download a ROM and use one of those to flash it. Easier and safer. Hold Vol down and power on tab to put inn dl mode then connect and hit start

Here is a very simple instruction on rooting LG GT540 when Universal Androot doesn't work:
1. Download and extract the attached package.
2. Connect the phone in "USB Debbuging Mode"
3. Doubleclick "root.bat" (extracted from the package)
4. Wait for the console to shut down and the phone to reboot.
The credit for this method goes probably to people from Modaco.
Since this is my first post and i am still not allowed to post links from external servers i won't give any mirrors for unregistered users. Sorry.
Any confirmation that this works?
It sounds just too easy!
Bakuj, you can PM me with link to the modaco forum, I cant find topic with this root method!
Cheers!
Rooted yesturdamy with this, works fine
I rooted my phone yesterday using that method.
I ran each line of code separately though as i had issues running the .bat file
Thanks a lot
Froyo?
I have a TMO Optimus T w/ FROYO. Will this work on it?
You can give it a try. But first look at the name of this forum section. It is for GT540.
I have made a new version which includes both root and app2sd.Named 1 click autorootapp2sd .
You can access the guide at modaco . The file is attached.Turn on usb debugging mode and run autorootapp2sd.bat.
Nice and handy ^^ thanks
ROOT for recovery:
1. Grab this file mediafire.com/?rc8g496og3482dx
2. Update.zip copy directly to an SD card
3. Reset the phone and start the recovery mode
4. Select the option to apply sdcard: update.zip
5. Root been made
Application was added to the package:
root explorer, superuser and busybox
Thanks a lot arekl1988r
but how can i unroot it?
flash the original GT540 ROM with lg software?
Yeah it should work. Also you can try a factory reset (never tested).
Hi Rooting will void my warrenty??
Im trying to root my phone.
I have USB debugging mode on the phone, and i tried running root.bat both as an administrator and a user.
I get stuck here (see attachement)
What have i done wrong?
I can see: device not found, try Turn USB Debugging ON
It is on, i also rebooted the phone.
Ok, so try this way: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682
I found out that i cant even connect my phone to LG Pc suite.
USB storage works well, but Suite never finds the phone. I have installed all the drivers from LG.
Whats the next step?

Which one I had the same problems with III, but version IV fixed it all
Hi all,
So I've tried lots of forums on here about how to root my LG Optimus 2x but keep running into the same problem. Here are the steps I've been following:
Remove the battery.
Plug in your USB cable to your PC.
Hold Volume Up and Volume Down at the same time keeping them held down.
Plug in the USB cable to your phone. (Keep the buttons held until Windows detects a new APX device.)
Open Device Manager in Windows and you should see "APX Device" listed with an error icon.
Right click on the APX device.
Select 'Update driver software'.
Select 'Browse my computer...'.
Select 'Let me pick...'.
Select 'Have disk'.
Browse to directory you extracted the *driver* software to: One-Click-G2x-recovery-flasher-09-23\APX.
Accept any warnings, including the big red alert (you may need to disable UAC).
Now in Device Manager under 'USB Controllers' you should have an 'NVIDIA USB Boot-recovery driver for mobile devices'.
If not, uninstall the driver, reboot, rinse and repeat.
I'm on a Windows 7 32 bit PC. When I check for an APX device in the Device manager I don't see one?
I do see an unknown device but when I try to click have disk etc for this, it does not recognise the drivers I'm pointing at and does not install. Can anyone help me with this?
Many thanks,
Derek
What version are you on? Froyo or Gingerbread? It seems you are flashing CWM but that's a longer way to root. You could always try Super one click, which works on froyo.
Yes, I am on 2.2. So Superoneclick is safe to use?
Absolutely. I used it when I was on froyo. Do you have any sensitive data however on your phone? Just in case you mess up, it's always good to have a backup of it. Probably hook up your USB cable to your pc/laptop and copy/paste the files to be safe.
Ok, thanks. So I have rooted the phone using SuperOneClick. Can you send me a link where I can find information about how to put on Gingerbread 2.3 now? Or maybe there is a better ROM I can use that that? Any advice would be appreicated.
Thanks,
Derek
You can try Cyanogen Mod, but that is experimental, even the RC one (Release Candidate).
You can try other leaked versions of ROMs, or you can download the latest v10L Gingerbread release. Before installing any ROM, I recommend doing a CWM or Nandroid backup.
The link to download gingerbread (it's only out in a few countries in Europe) is located in the development sub section of the LG 2x forums. However, try using the update tool and see if it tells you that you have an update.
I seem to have a bit of a problem. I took your advice and found a forum that helped me to do a Nandroid Backup. As part of the steps it asked me to install ROM manager from the Market. I started this and chose my phone model. I started the Flash ClockworkMod Recovery’ in the ROM manager but it stopped and said a permissions error occured. Then I tried to open other programs but they wouldn't open. I tried to reboot the phone but now it just flashes on the LG logo and won't boot up. Please help me with this.
Hello people on this great forum i am new here so i salud you all.
i installed Cyanogenmod 2.3.4 android on lg optimus 2x butt here is the thing how do you update to a newer version or do you have to unstall everything and start from scratch.any tips are welcome and is there a new version of cyanogenmod

Only select the DEBUG USB, and its ok!
Settings > Applications.
I hope this help, because you can only do the root with the DEBUG USB activate
Ok, I have a N7000 with stock gb and KK2 kernel and I want to load the Paranoid Android ICS rom. First I see that I must route my phone, so I tried following the instructions at:
http://www.android.gs/how-to-root-samsung-galaxy-note-n7000/
These instructions make it sound darn simple, but perhaps I am really dumb? Ok, so first I downloaded the latest kies as well as "CF-Root-SGN_ZS_MUL_KK1-v5.0-CWM5.rar"
After installing kies, I got it to connect to my note although not without heart ache. Eventually I found that it would only work if I first disabled USB debugging. But that wasn't enough. Then I had to reboot the phone. (Without that step it wouldn't work). It wasn't clear to me if I even needed to make it connect to kies. The instructions didn't say I needed to. Ok, so then I start "not-rooted-yet.bat" which displays this:
(1) make sure u have installed adb drivers for ur device
(2) enable "USB DEBUGGING"
(3) enable "UNKNOWN SOURCES"
(4) [OPTIONAL] increase screen timeout to 10 minutes
(5) connect USB cable to PHONE and then connect to PC
(6) skip "PC Companion Software" prompt on device
(7) !!! PUT A CF-ROOT zImage FILE IN THE zImage FOLDER !!!
I can only easily do items 2-5. It's hard for me to imagine that I should just ignore the other 3 items.
Instruction #1 confused me. How do I accomplish that? It seems that the adb drivers come with the android sdk but the instructions don't say anything about installing that. That seems like a big deal and if it was required it seems that it would surely be mentioned?
Plus I found this post which also indicates that the sdk is not required.
> victorlht88:
> no u don't need the android sdk to root.
> just install kies, plug your phone with usb debugging enabled
> and let it install the drivers.
> restart your comp and plug your phone in (download mode),
> downgrade the firmware (if need be) with odin and simply
> root using cf root.
> its not that tough.
However those instructions seem about as clear as mud, since if I plug in my phone with usb debugging enabled, kies just hung forever saying "connecting".
Do the adb drivers get installed just by installing kies or do you somehow have to coerce kies to do this?
And then there is step 6. But I don't get any prompt of any kind when I plug in the phone to the pc.
And then there is step 7. I don't know what this means, but my guess is that I have to copy the zimage\zimage file to somewhere on the phone. However where exactly? There is no zImage folder on my phone! Plus even if there was, I couldn't copy anything to it after checking "USB debugging" (mass storage mode) I can no longer see my phone in explorer. What happens when I plug the phone in is that the phone says "USB connected" and then two new drives appear on my PC. However if I try to click on either of those I see "No disk drive. Insert a disk and try again". I even tried rebooting my pc, but then I get even more than two new drives showing up briefly, but they always give the same error message as before.
... yet I know that thousands of people have routed their phones ... so I am left pretty mystified. If anyone can clarify these instructions it would help me greatly, and maybe others as well.
Thanks
~Paul
Follow dr. Ketans thread in the development section.
And once on download mode with usb connected, CLOSE KIES. Otherwise odin will not work.

Hi, your guide is taken from here. I think there is a missing step, which is to download the InitialCFRootFlasher.zip from the end of post #2, and you need to follow the instruction step "1.2. If you are not rooted yet: Using the zergRush exploit".
Btw, adb drivers are included when you install Kies in your PC. Once Kies is installed, you have to close it. Make sure your phone is in USB debugging mode before starting the procedure.

Ok, those instructions seemed more clear. Different script as well although perhaps not significantly so? In any case it worked. I'm not rooted! Thanks all

you said your kernel is kk2, then why did you use CF Root KK1?
Cf root kernel for KK1 and KK2 is same.
Hi mates,
i crashed my GT-P1000.
Installed CWM via Heimdall and tried to flash to Paranoid 2.20.
Now I cant install anything because of "Status 7".
The only package which was possible to install was MiUi.
No WiFi, no GSM, etc. - thats why I think i must have touched the radio-partition
I can control the tab via adb, but odin and all those tools dont recognize the Tab (Just Samsung Composite Device). So no flashing via Odin.
Anybody here can tell me how to get the radio partition back?
Thanks a lot and all the best!
Jan
There is no radio partition on MTD based ROM.
it is just /radio/
Which ROM did you flash, maybe can find out if it is BML or MTD.
But WiFi isn't radio dependent.
Remove your sim card in case you have the WiFi channel / middle eastern tab WiFi issue.
your best bet is still to restock

As Priyana said it is not related to radio partition... are you sure you have p1000 tab.
Error status 7 occur when flashing noncompatible ROM.

Its definetly P1000.
I used a howto to install CWM.
Technomancer’s Kernel with ClockworkMod Recovery 5 (cwm-5-p1.tar, 5 MB, md5sum: e67e61a27741069e43bf9f790bf35b10)
Heimdall Suite 1.3.2 (heimdall-suite-1.3.2-win32-.zip, 9.6 MB)
Instructions
1. Extract the contents of Heimdall Suite 1.3.2 to obtain a folder named Heimdall Suite. Drivers and the Heimdall Suite application are found inside the folder.
2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to the computer. Do not connect the tablet just yet.
3. Switch off your tablet.
4. Reboot the tablet into Download Mode. To do this, press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons as you connect the other end of the USB cable to your tablet.
5. On your PC, double-click the zadig.exe file found in the Heimdall Suite folder. This tool allows you to easily install the USB drivers needed for Heimdall to be able to communicate with your tablet.
6. Select Options and choose List All Devices from the menu. You will see a drop-down list.
7. From the drop-down list, select either Samsung USB Composite Device or Gadget Serial and choose Install Driver. After this, Heimdall can now be safely used on your computer.
NOTE: A prompt may appear saying that the installer is unable to verify the publisher of the driver. If this happens, select “Install this driver anyway.”
8. After installation of the drivers, unplug your tablet from the USB cable.
9. Turn your tablet off.
10. Reboot the tablet into Download Mode again (as in step 4).
11. Untar Technomancer’s Kernel. You will be getting a file named zImage. Copy the zImage file into the Heimdall Suite folder. The file should be inside the same folder as heimdall.exe.
12. On your PC, open a command prompt. Change directory to where heimdall.exe is located.
13. Enter the following at the command prompt:
heimdall flash --kernel zImage
14. The command above instructs Heimdall to flash the kernel to your tablet. You will see a blue progress indicator displayed on your tablet’s screen.
15. After flashing of the kernel is done, your tablet will boot automatically.

Step 15 didnt work
The Tab didnt boot anymore.
So I asked a friend to have a look at it.
First there was the problem that the tab seemed not to know "who" it was.
"assert failed: getprop(“ro.product.device”)..."
We tried several ROMs.
The only one which worked was the MiUi. But nor I can enable WiFi neither it recognizes my SIM Card.
Even without the SIM I cant enable WiFi.
I dont know how to restock, without being able to install any ROM because of status 7.
So far thanks for your effort!
If you are REALLY sure you have the right version of a ROM for your type of Tab, you can do the following. ROM's which can be flashed from the Recovery are zips with files and folders. One of these files, META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script, checks first of all if the Tab is the right type. It seems this check can fail even though the Tab is OK. In this case you can just remove the first two lines with the assert statement. Be careful, because the ROM doesn't have the type sanity check anymore! It should flash now.
The best way to do this is not to unzip the zip into a folder, edit the file, and rezip the folder, but to open the zip, edit the file, and update the zip. You'll have to use an editor that respects UNIX end-of-lines (line feed), and not replaces them with DOS end-of-lines (carriage return/line feed). Notepad++ will do that, but there are others as well.
Sorry, it might have been a bit incomprehensible.
The problem isnt "assert failed: getprop(“ro.product.device”)..." anymore.
Ive got the problem that i cant install anything because of "status 7".
Restock to overcome method.
Follow my signature. Even a p1000l/n will become p1000 assert wise.

Its done
I dont know why Odin didnt recognize the Tab before, but with these tools it does.
Thanks a lot Priyana, you absolutely made my day!!

Hi guys I'm trying to flash Jovi's Custom Rom. I accidentally pressed the update button on my phone that allows the Latest update from t-moble to kill the phone so It wont charge. Luckily I have quite a but of battery power left and I'm franticly trying to flash a jovi's custom rom. currently I'm getting a "Failed" message when trying to flash on ODEN 3.12 here are the directions I followed to the letter but no success.
First Thing Your Going To Do Is Download Both graceqltetmo_N930TUVU1APGC_Stock_Deodexed.zip And N930T_Note7_Adb_Rootkit_And_Odin_Pack.zip Files From The Download Link Section Below.
2. Extract All The Files From N930T_Note7_Adb_Rootkit_And_Odin_Pack.zip Onto Your PC Desktop, You Will Then Have Eight Files On Your Desktop Which Will Be MODIFIED_TMO_SPR_N930PVPU1APH3_REV00_ENGBOOT_FIRMW ARE.tar.md5, graceqltetmo_N930TUVU1APGC_Stock_Deodexed.img, SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_v1.5.45.0.exe, adb-setup-1.4.3.exe, CommandPrompt.bat, Odin3.exe, Odin3.ini, And sun7.
3. If You Haven't Setup ADB On Your PC Yet Or Installed The Samsung USB Drivers, Just Open Both Executables SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_v1.5.45.0.exe And adb-setup-1.4.3.exe And Complete Both The Setup Processes. Once Done You Should Now Have A Created ADB Directory Which Should Be Located At C:\adb. Once ADB Is Setup, Place The sun7 Folder And CommandPrompt.bat Inside Your ADB Folder From The New Directory.
4. Now Put Your Phone Into Download Mode By Powering Off Your Device First And Then Hold The "Volume Down+Home+Power Buttons" At The Same Time Until You See The Download Mode Warning Screen. Now Press The "Volume Up Button" And Then Insert Your Samsung USB Plug.
5. Now Open Odin3.exe, Click On "AP", Select "MODIFIED_TMO_SPR_N930PVPU1APH3_REV00_ENGBOOT_FIRM WARE.tar.md5", And Then Click On "Start". Wait For A Couple Of Minutes For The Modified N930PVPU1APH3 Engboot Firmware To Finish Installing. After this step it says failed so this is where I'm suck currently at the bootloader. thanks guys for your help
If you had done any research on this you could have saved yourself the hassle.
There is no possible way to root since like october.
