We now have the bootloader unlocked , I've tested out the WiFi tether from the HTC super tool kit ....it works....with LTE so just a heads up

This might be the first time I tried unlocking a bootloader. Is there a process or step guide I can follow.
Also after you unlocked the bootloader, did you use the super tool to root and add the WiFi tether? Was you able to had mobile hotspot to your phone? Or is that the WiFi tether you are referencing?

What IP address are you referring? You simply go to htcdev website, here is the direct link: http://htcdev.com/bootloader
Follow the instructions. You might have to create a free account so you can get your unlock file via email, which you then have to flash to your phone to get it unlocked.
They did a pretty good job with the instructions. You have to use the command prompt on your pc to fastboot to your phone.
I simply unlocked my bootloader ,rooted it and then ran the WiFi exploit in the super tool

Yes i am on ATT..
I flashed Holicakes 0.3 /Beats/APM/CRTOff/Amaze4Gcamera/Extended SystemUI and its not bad! you will need to manually add the APN's though.. i added both the ATT PTA and Media Net.. STL doesnt have LTE yet so i wasnt able to test that, and currently using the media apn because i got the 5% warning yesterday
You can find the ATT PTA apn settings here
also the added Beats Audio is pretty nice!

what i did was...
transfer the rom to the internal sd card (pulled the external card, plugged the phone in and turned on disk drive mode, then transferred the rom).
Then i flashed CWM...
Then the kernel (FYI after flashing the kernel on the next boot you will be stuck on the white HTC screen, this is normal)
pull the battery, then hold vol down plus power then choose recovery. CWM will come up, choose install zip from sdcard and choose your rom.. easy as that!

fastboot flash the attached kernel image (its the one labeled Telstra_boot.zip)
extract the boot.img out of this file and place in same directory as your fastboot.exe/fastboot executable
boot phone into hboot/bootloader (make sure you are in fastboot mode)
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
it should complete without error
after that, reboot to recovery and flash rom

DO NOT FORGET TO WIPE DATA/FACTORY RESET FROM CWM FIRST! if you dont, you will probably have a whole lot of FC's on your hands (only if coming from another ROM/Stock)(if you are upgrading....you probably dont have to wipe, but if you have problems, wipe, reflash, then report)
obligatory screenshots
If you need to return to stock for any reason, you will need to boot to FASTBOOT and relock your bootloader with:
Code:
fastboot oem lock
reboot to fastboot again, and it should say **RELOCKED** at the top
put this file on a microSD card as is (it should be named PH39IMG.zip), power down phone, insert microSD and boot back into bootloader. it should automatically find the zip file and flash the stock image (this includes recovery, system, everything stock. its the same as running the RUU, only you dont need a windows machine for it )
after that, if you want to re-unlock your bootloader, you will need to run:
Code:
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
just like the first time you unlocked it
I can provide the stock rogers the same way if needed.
Attached is the stock boot.img for the ATT Vivid.
downloading now flashing soon thank you for your hard work

i would recommend installing setcpu if you are having battery drain. so you can at least set a lower minimum

First i want to thank Katdog75 for the find!! Tech1208 for the search... The native wifi tether hot spot seams to not be available unless you have that activated with your carrier, well you can now switch the ext. jar file in the rom, just go to system / framework and find the ext. jar file, delete it or copy it to different location if you want to keep the file. After deleting the file, copy the downloaded ext. jar file into the framework folder and re-flash your rom. You will now be able to activate wifi tether hot spot.

Yes, did reboot my phone before using it, and yes when the wifi stops working and I reboot my phone it starts to work again. I just wood like to be able to use wifi hotspot and then use wifi afterwards without a reboot.
I now however have a different issue. The app does not work at all. It worked only the first time I used it. Now, it creates a network, but their is not internet.
Again, I acquired this apk from another rom (and yes I did change the permissions) and I am using Desensed 1.6. Is there any other htc framework or maybe an apn that this app relies on to work?

Havent tried with that rom, as i am the Pegasus rom by koz...You could try to remove that apk that you installed from the other rom, and then see if it works correctly. There may be some kind of conflict between the two...If all else fails, try to put the apk into a diff rom, along with the ext jar file and see if they work together.
You're welcome guys!
Does anyone know much about these ext.jar files? I have been trying to modify the file to get beats notificatiom to work as well but struggling with it

For the last sentence
How to use wifix :
Be sure WiFi is fully off
Install wifix
Run and install driver
Go out and in phone dial *#94349# ( I think, search about this code). A little text must be shown in buttom of screen 'wifix engaged'
now try to turn WiFi on
All of I do for working wifi for me is this, if you are s-off or installed boot file through adb
Sent from my Holiday using xda app-developers app
OK I figured out the issue. The version of twrp I was using had issues with my VIVID so I switched to the latest cwm and I was able to upload ROMS and get my wifi running again.
So while having twenty tabs open and sifting through a bunch of dead threads and guides with dead links. I ended up downloaded a stock rom from the main htc one forum and didn't notice. I thought I was in the Sprint section the whole time.
Now my backup does not work, it boots but I can only see the notification bar and it reboots after like a minute. Installing other roms does the same thing so I am assuming the partitions are borked.
I can still get into twrp, I can unlock and relock the bootloader and adb etc.
My current version is 1.31.651.2
Could someone please provide me with some info on getting this fixed. The only thing I wanted to do was unlock the phone, I called sprint and they gave me the unlock code but I could not find where to enter it. After research I read you need root, and unlock helper. And now here I am haha.
Did you get squared away, or are you still out there on that lonely, over populated island?

Now do you know of a way to actually unlock the phone to be used on gsm?
I tried this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2491840 that didnt work. So now I just restored my original twrp backup that I made after getting it back up. So now I am on 4.1.2 sense 5 original from the ruu and just install SU.
If anyone could point me in the right direction of getting this phone unlocked and working correctly that would be great.
EDIT:
I just noticed after getting it back up with the ruu I am now able to select GSM from mobile data. Before it always said it was sim locked and wouldnt let me choose it.
APN shows T-Mobile Data cinet.spcs and T-Mobile MMS epc.tmobile.com
When I go to Available GSM Network and search networks it shows T-Mobile and AT&T when I choose T-Mobile it tries to register the network for ever then it gets registed and shows T-Mobile as the Available GSM Network but then it gets removed. I was able to make one test call and it worked but then was removed.
Through out all of this I keep getting a message to Change Mode No Network Found Select Yes to switch to global mode, no to stay in current mode. Nothing seems to be working though.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me figure this out.
Hmm seems to have stuck this last time I selected T-Mobile. We will see how long it last. I just want to make sure I have done everything correctly. I would like to get updated to the latest stock plus root rom.

As far as that goes, how is installing the LG G2 unified drivers supposed to go? I found the download link for them in the main 200 page thread for this. Extracted the zip, but none of the .exe files do anything when run. Is that normal or is something wrong? For example I tried running InstallUSB64.exe but absolutely nothing happens.
Another more recent post on like page 185 of the thread had another download link, but that just leads to a file called "LG" with no extension and it doesn't appear to be a .zip

No you will need to root and then install custom recovery. Depending on what you are on. If you are on kitkat you can use autorec, and anything earlier you can use flashify.

I am not sure about the question but I know when you root this phone there is a trip where it will show in the lg menu that it is rooted. In order to get rid of that you will have to return to stock. Tell you though I have had this phone for a few months now and I am glad i finally decided to root and put custom recovery on. Its my phone and set up the way I want with root and all.

Tell you though I have had this phone for a few months now and I am glad i finally decided to root and put custom recovery on. Its my phone and set up the way I want with root and all.

no problem. If you want a nice working asop rom check on Vanir 4.4.3
I'm having a hell of a time trying to get this thing to root. I followed all of the instructions for installing the LG device drivers and when I go to run the IOroot25 it flashes really quickly and then goes away. USB debugging is enabled and I have tried it in ethernet mode and charging mode. Both produce the same result. Do I need to remove any other drives I might have on my computer in order to get it to work? Any other ideas?

You need to be in Ethernet mode.
Once it boots into recovery, did you scroll down and select "install from adb"?

Yeah, I had everything setup correctly and it didn't work. Tried the same exact thing on another computer and it worked flawlessly. Thanks though!

Im having problems rooting it as well. I installed the latest drivers 1.14 I believe, and when trying to root it using ioroot25 it says downgrade to a previous version.
I do have it on Ethernet mode, and it reboots it into recovery, but that's it. I select apply update from adb but again, on ioroot it does nothing after the suggestion to downgrade.
any suggestions?
Make sure your phone is setup. Debugging mode is set. Unknown sources is set. Phone is on airplane mode. Plug into computer and start ioroot25 and follow steps

Guys just use towelroot to root. You install an app and push a button.
