Hello! My SGS's battery got empty, the phone was almost shut down. After the vibration, I presume that it is completely shut down and when you plug-in the charger it must show you an animation with a battery. The problem is that it doesn't show me the animation, it just starts the phone. I'm a bit scared and I won't do anything until I get an advice. Does anyone know what should I do to "shut it down completely"? It could have been from the kernel?
to shut it down completely just take off the battery ! put it in and check if its turning ON of course with charger if battery is empty

I did that too and it's still turning on by itself when I connect the charger.

My firmware is a stock one (except the kernel), gingerbread 2.3.5 XXJVT with Semaphore kernel wich includes CFroot, CWM, and Voodoo display and sound.
Flash stock kernel.

the fact that your phone turn on when plugged in is a *bug* in the kernel .. generally this thing is mentioned in the features/bugs on the forum page of the kernel.. if you flash a stock one or a different kernel (which doesn't have this *bug*, you won't be having this issue...
*bug* - it can be a feature too
May be a problem with the kernel just try to update the kernel or go back to stock......

Hey all!
I just got a huge problem!
Well I saw that I had downloaded the CM7 experimental for SGN.
Flashed it with CWM and then my phone keeps rebooting. (boot loop)
I can't enter CWM, but Odin mode. So I thought I could flash it with Odin. Well here is the other problem.
Meanwhile my battery went low and the Odin mode just says "Low Battery! Can't Download!".
It can still charge but when I plug it in for charging it just keeps rebooting itself and won't charge!
Is there anything that I can do except changing the battery or trying to load it in another device?
No one of my friends got a SGN
Turn completely off to charge, and let it suit for a bit
Well I removed the battery and everything. Now it's off for about 10 minutes. How long should I let it suit?
Edit: When reputting the battery in... Should I first insert the battery and then the AC or the other way around?
Just plugged it in... First battery then AC.
It keeps rebooting
Sorry for triple post but... no answer? anyone?
Are you able to enter download mode?
Home + Power + Volume down
Well currently not because my battery is not charged and the download (odin) mode says "Low Battery! Can't Download!".
Yesterday i've ordered a docking station, so I'll charge my battery when it will arrive.
Then I'm able to enter the download mode again. And flash via Odin.
Even if I wanted to avoid this step because the binary counter will be set to +1.
Is there no other way I can?
Why your count raise?
just flash Stock ROM, it won't raise count.
but as i read OP, you have already tried to flash CM7 with PC odin, that may have raised it already.. But check it again, it was not successfull due to low bettery may it hav saved you from flashing, n your count is still at zero.
So you mean, when flashing a stock ROM with Odin won't raise my counter? Do you have a good guide for flashing the GN with Odin to stock?
Edit: Should I flash with one or three files?

Sure it won't. Read again my earlier post i have edited. N you can get installation guide from link on my signature.
edit :
That depends which ROM you are downloading, if it contains 1 file you have to use one, If contains three, you have to use three. Read My installation guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20963718&postcount=2

I have flashed CM7 with CWM.
I only flashed with CWM and the counter is still at zero.
Great to hear that there is still hope!
If only battery charging is the issue, then i dont think, you have any problem in recovery. it shud b sort out as you flash Stock ROM.
Gud Luck !

Thank's I'll try it.
Yes battery charging is the only issue.
It can't charge and can't boot into CWM. But in Odin, as long as my battery is full enough.
So I hope that my docking station will arrive until tomorrow.
Then I'll charge the battery with the external battery charger and insert it again to boot into download mode.
Hopefully everything will go well while flashing with Odin.
I'll just follow your guide step by step and report the final status.
So...Flashed it yesterday and everything went well thanks

galaxy note won't start
Hi dr. ketan,
I made a big mistake yesterday. I was on stock gnote rom with cwm installed. I wanted to try out liquidsmooth rom on the gnote (n7000) and the first instruction said to flash lp repack kernel. i went to the chainfire thread and as i couldn't find any other lp kernel, i went ahead and downloaded the lp kernel for the i9220. I then proceeded to flash the kernel using cwm. i know it was stupid of me, but now i just have the samsung galaxy n7000 screen when i start and then nothing happens. I can get into download mode using volume down + home + power keys. Would flashing a stock rom using odin work to reset the phone? thanks for any help that you can offer!
- c0ntagi0
Sure, it'll work.
Check his thread in his signature to download the right firmware.
same case
I got same case here but already solve..thank to sky..

Army92, How did you manage to charge the battery? I am into a similar issue and unable to charge my battery.
It tell me, 'Battery Low. Can't Download!'
@pavankota - does you cpu area feel hot?
Hi there,
I had no problem with my Note until this morning when I woke up.
My Note was turned off, I tried to turn it on, impossible.
I plugged the usb wire and I saw the battery logo and it was fully drained.
It's weird because I usually hold 2 days with my phone and yesterday, before sleeping, the battery was almost full.
More than that, I use Green Power, so all the connectivity services shut down during the night, there's almost no battery consumption.
So, I tried to turn it on, many times, impossible... it's stuck at the blinking Samsung logo.
I use the LQ2 rom with the Franco's kernel R5.
I've also tried to wipe cache & Dalvik's cache in recovery, but that doesn't change anything.
I'm beginning to be a bit worried because I've red some post on the forum saying that the Note's CPU can burn...
Please help ! Thanks !
are you overclocked? but even if you are, if the device goes into deepsleep, it can't burn...
i wonder what really happened..
How long have you had Franco 5 running on it?
I got stuck at flashing logo when I tried to upgrade from Rocket ROM 3 to 4.1. Ended up having to do factory reset. Now on RR4.1 with CF kernel. Hoping it stays stable.
So if all else fails do the factory reset as per ROM instructions and hope that gets you through.
I don't overclock the device, I try to run it as simple as possible, as long as I have Gmail, I'm happy.
I don't know what happened... I was running Franco's R5 since the day he released it, without any single problem !
I'm now on a Windows, I'll try to run Odin and flash it.
Yes, no idea what appened.
But the best is to flash a wipe stock Rom from Odin PC.
How to check if my cpu is not burned ?
I flashed a new rom with Odin, the phone doesn't boot anymore...
The file I flashed: http://www.hotfile.com/dl/159007364/ad4ff19/N7000XXLQ2_N7000OXELP6_SER.zip.html
What can I do more ?

I hope your PBA is not cooked like mine. I was on franco's kernel too before I could revert back to safety, it was dead. Are you able to get in download mode? When flashing or wiping, do you get errors on datafs or factoryfs?
If you have warranty, Samsung service center

What do you mean with PBA ?
I can go into download mode and before flashing the rom with Odin, I could go into recovery without any problem.
I don't have errors with datafs and factoryfs.
I think my phone is dead... ok I have to live with it... but I really would like to know why.

PBA is the motherboard. Does it get stuck at Samsung logo or nothing happens at all when you press vol up+home+power?

First of all the CPU is fine, since you see the Recovery screen.
From Recovery flash Abyss 4.2, reboot Recovery (from Advances).
Wipe user data, Cash and Dalvik Cash,
Flash any ROM.
I had a very similar problem. Resolved by reverting to Franco R4.
Good luck!

When I do that, before flashing the latest rom, I was going into recovery.
Now that I flashed it, I land into a "Android system recovery (3e)".
It's a blue menu like the CWM Recovery but with less options.
I suppose that this is the default recovery system bundled by Samsung...

Now that I flashed the original rom, I lost root, how can I do that ?
When I first got my TMobile Galaxy S2, the first day it died completely while I was sleeping. I tried turning it on and I would feel the vibration of the phone trying to turn on but it wouldn't. I figured the battery had drained so I plugged it in the charger, but the phone wouldn't stay off and charge, it would try turning on over and over. It went into a crazy bootloop. It was my first time with the phone so I thought it went crazy and called samsung.
Eventually the phone got enough of a charge to power on completely without shutting down. I eventually realized that if my phone died completely, what I had to do was use my Car Charger, which didn't turn my phone on and showed me the little battery indicator showing it was charging.
I don't know if this is similar to what you experienced but hope it helps.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
a similar thing happened to me earlier,
I would advise you not to have wiped anything whilst on ICS even with franco kernel.
If you can go to download mode, do so then using pc odin flash a stock rooted GB rom from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1535025
then flash cwm recovery. following this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360
then wipe data, cache and everything else.
you should be back to GB then flash whatever rom you want, I would advise you to flash paranoidandroid which is superb.
the only difference I had with you, is that i did not wipe data or cache whilst on ICS so this may not work for you as you have done that.
But this method worked for me.
Ok, I'll try to flash the GB rom, and I'll be back to get you update of the situation...
I think I'll be back on HTC soon... I don't understand why the phone reacted like that...
Can someone help me? I’m currently running Criskelo’s ICS V11.2 with CF-LRG. Yesterday i noticed a massive battery drain up to 12% per hour. After charger was connected for a few hours i can’t turn phone on, after 5-10 min phone going on by itself, after starting the Phone going again off. I wipe in recovery but it did not help. It keeps repeating.
First of all I'd say you try other battery saving kernels out there e.g. SpeedMod, if your still getting that battery drain bug, try to go to CWM, wipe dalvik cache and batterystats and charge your phone until it's full. Use it until the battery drains to 5% and charge it to full again. (Do a complete battery cycle is what I mean).
Check back after if your still getting the battery drain issue.
probably the problem is hardware issue ( usb connector).
i have flash other rom other kernel, wiped. nothing. i still can't charge battery over usb. how i can restock (cause of warranty)? no way with ODIN

If you flash any gb with pc Odin use a full wipe version and it'll erase root and cwm. Doesn't matter if it's 3 part or not.

Connect your phone is flashing mode by:
1. Keep ur mobile connected to the pc all the times.
2. Remove the back cover and the battery.
3. Wait for 10-15 seconds.
4. Press and HOLD the back button while putting the battery back in.
5. Launch PCC.
If this didnt work out, try to shortcircuit ur phone(it wont damage the hardware) by a dc charger.
Flash naa ics kernel back, then go to recovery and format data and system then you flash alfs kernel

not going to recovery in alfs &nAa kernel is "IMPOSSIBLE"
Both kernels include recovery so it should go to recovery .......
Reflash kernel / then full wipe {(important)+dalvik & system wipe}
U must always wipe when u upgrade or downgrade form ics/jb (cause whole system is different)

Hi all,
I had the stock ROM and installed CM11 with Odin, since then the offline charging do not work. When I plug the phone to the charger, the screen show the charger circle but it get stuck and do not charge, I have to unplug the charger and press the power button for a while until the circle disappear and I can start the mobile again. I have verified that when I start again the mobile the battery has not been charged. When the mobile is on, it charges correctly.
Trying to sort out this problem I have installed recovery 2.8, wiped everything, calibrated the battery and installed CM12-Novafusion from Recovery but the issue still persist.
Do not know what to do to solve it, any suggestion?
