Try flash tool, if your phone can get into flash mode, then it should be fine! This is not a hard brick! What have you been trying before bricking this?

I also face the same problem when i use Xperia X8. Here is the solution for to recover it.
Please search for Xperia x8/w8 Update Service setup in google and install the software in your PC then do the below steps.
1) switch off your phone
2) Press the back button continuously and connect the USB cable from your system to phone.
3) Then run the updated service. It will take nearly 30 minutes to complete the software updated process.
Bricked phone?
I had the same problems the first time, i even had to take it back to where I purchased it since it had warranty, after they handed the phone again I stayed with the feeling that there was something I had to try I did it again and it stayed on the sonyericsson logo and didn`t enter the Xrecovery by pressing back button guess what I tried pressin the other buttons the menu and the home button and it enter the Xrecovery from there try doing a restore if you backedup your info if not you have to use flashtool and flash the rom
try going to Xperiax8(todo para este movil) and search Reparar Sony Ericcson Xperia X8 despues de Briqueo (repair phone after brick)
Recommended if you download a clean stock rom I used 1.6 donut and then installed the stock baseband 06 am pretty sure that flashtool has it if not follow this
download the stock firmware to your device and you are back in business
you may use flashtool to flash stock fw.now cwm may not works as it was on fw,

Hello. This is my final resort. -.-
I used miniCM7-2.2.1. I've tried everything that has been suggested. My X8 hangs up on the Sony Ericsson logo and I cant access the xRecovery menu. To shut my phone down, I have to take out the battery, since it wont shut down when it hangs up no matter how long I hold the power button. Then I insert the battery again; but when I connect the USB cord, it starts up automatically and then hangs up again. I've tried flashing it but it wont detect in flash mode even if the led is green. so no luck on flashing. I tried SEUS but it says I already have the latest software installed so no luck in updating either. Somebody help! T.T
SUMMARY:
-Hangs up on logo screen
-Cant access xRecovery
-Doesnt detect flash mode (even when led is green)
-SEUS cant upgrade since latest software is installed
PLEASE HELP!
do you have pcc and x8 drivers installed? try rebooting your pc and attempt to flash again. you should be able to get into flash mode. also install gg drivers.
also, i can't quite remember, but doesn't minicm7 require a custom kernel?
Just because i don't doesn't mean i can't.

i got it flashed. i figured i'd insert the battery after i plugged into pc. then i flashed it with a stock rom for e16i. worked like a charm. however, i still havent found the right custom rom yet. does anyone has any suggestions?
Dear bro, don't PANIC! its the only thing that makes us to create a bit useless threads..
try with Flashtool second time!
and if doesn't work use PC COMPANION its your best Companion
repair the X8 via PC COMPANION
- Turn off the phone, and unplug it from the PC !
- On your PC, uninstall Sony PC Companion
- Restart your PC
- On your PC, clean any Cache and Registry related to Sony PC Companion, then restart PC again.
- Reinstall Sony PC Companion by downloading it from here
- Turn on Sony PC Companion on your PC
- In Sony PC Companion, enter the Support Zone tab
- Go to Update Phone Software
A window will pop out, saying that it cannot find your phone
- Click on Fix Phone
- Click on Continue
A window will pop out, saying that you will lose all your data
- TICK the BOX
- Click on continue
An update process will began.
Wait for it to show a window with all the SONY mobile phones
- Find your phone (X8)
- Click on the phone.
Now all you have to do is follow the on-screen instructions. It will tell you to hold the back button and plug your turned-off X8 to the PC, then it will erase everything, and download the original 2.1 ROM to your X8.
If Sony PC Companion STILL doesn't recognize your X8, then, uninstall Sony PC Companion AGAIN, and start the above described process AGAIN. It WILL eventually work!

Well, I can tell you that I had a similar experience recently and I almost **** my pants. After having occupied the restroom, PCC worked for me absolutely perfectly, albeit I did have some problems installing the necessary drivers (had to do it from a different machine, obviously something in the registry was messed up).
Seeing you solved the problem, I recommend you install either a 2.2 or 2.3 ROM. Don't go for 4.x ones if you're up for normal use because they are way too strong for this little device (kudos to the developers who made these ROMs happen, though).
My recommendations:
2.2 - FroyoPro v2.5
2.3 - GingerDX v031b
Both work really well with custom kernels, and are very fast and stable.
My X8 has also the same problem, It hangs up in the logo screen and I cant go into the Flashmode, If I can only go into the Flashmode I have already fixed it, but my X8 opens up every time I plug it in my computer. Can anyone help me with this problem?

OK,assuming you have probably root the phone, by the way can you managed to go into recovery mode in your phone? If so, then just copy your rom zip files into the SD card and install zip files from SD card in the recovery mode. By the which Rom and Recovery you are using?

That's not good...
But before you're sending it to a service center, try this:
1. Download the SonĂ½ Ericsson Update Service (often called SEUS) from here: http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/update-service/
2. Boot X8 into fastboot mode (holding back button, if you can't do that, it's really bricked :/)
3. Follow the SEUS instructions

Hello... I seem to have bricked my phone but it's a weird brick. I tried a new ROM since I was having problems with my old one, and it got stuck on a reboot loop. I just didn't know what to do and (very stupidly, in retrospective...) just wiped the system partition. Now of course I can't access xRecovery (to be fair, they warned against doing that) and I don't remember if I had CWM installed at the time.
The phone was rooted, stock kernel.
Now, I can boot the phone and get stuck on Sony Ericsson logo... so far so good. But when I try to get it into flash mode, it won't boot. Is there anything I can do to un-brick it?
I tried Flashtool, PCC and SEUS. But since I can't boot into flash mode, it doesn't work.
If there's any more info I can provide please tell me and I will.
Thanks a lot.

Dude looks like it just a soft brick ... u can download the official firmware for this model and try to flash it from flashtool..power off phone, hold back button key left on right side and connect the USB to PC at the same time,... PC will detect your phone and turns to blue light..
In my case i totally ****ed up when i tried to unlock the bootloader. Now my phone is totally dead.. can't go to falshmode, phone won't start at all... but in your case at least your phone is turning on in sony ericsson logo which means its just a soft brick ...

I tried Flashtool, PCC and SEUS. But since I can't boot into flash mode, it doesn't work.
If there's any more info I can provide please tell me and I will.
Thanks a lot.

if you have unlocked bootloader.
try this. it should go into flash mode this way.
launch flashtool. select some kernel. alfs or nAa.
take the phone battery out. connect the usb and then put in the battery immediately.
it should start flashing the kernel. then you can use the cwm integrated in the kernel

Well... I don't know how since it wasn't working, but I got it to boot in flash mode with SEUS... but it says it doesn't have any software available for my device? Both in SEUS and PCC.

I imagined xD. I just tried with that too.
With flashtool, it gets stuck on "Reading device information" (I wanted to post edit and post this but the forum didn't let me xD). I'll let it try a little bit longer, but it's been a while.

if it fails for any reason then try flashing older baseband and then try seus. i dont remember if flashing baseband requires unlocked bootloader but its worth the effort

Okay, it's been stuck for about an hour. Tried flashing the older band, it gets stuck on "reading device..." too.

try the repair option in seus if its still there.
i once got into this situation had to keep trying seus till it stopped showing the "no software update found" or whatever it is. keep trying with seus. its your only free hope.
Try different basebands...
