[REQ]Loop Device Support in a Kernel - HTC Vivid, Raider, Velocity

I'm trying to get ubuntu/debian/linux running but need thisss..
I'll write a guide for Linux & Windows soon as this can be incorporated, willing to give $20 to the first who implements this into a ROM or Kernel
Project Linvid
I personally can't wait to try this Dual-core.
The last phone I had running Ubuntu/DEBIAN was a Droid Eris (I miss that little beast)
Anyways, Thanks in advance.

Search - Google always helps
If you just want to add loop support, it won't be hard

I for one am enjoying the Zio It actually feels like a solid device ( Using 2.2 and OpenZio ) compared to my HTC Raphael. Decent specs, just needs a streamlined ROM. Patience is a virtue Besides, Cricket here in Baltimore is AWS so it looks like the device lineup is limited anyway...... you might want to check up on the type of service you are using in your area too Not ANY WCDMA cell will work.....but maybe I should have let you buy it and waste money / time trying to flash it to cricket
Happily enjoying my 50 / Month all everything plan..... much cheaper than the 140 I was paying ATT using my Rhodium. I get the same if not better speeds with MUCH lower latencies!!!!
We've got a pretty decent rom being put together. It's alot of trial and error. We need more help to get to a beta release.
We have many that want custom roms, but how many are willing to contribute?

Ill hop in IRC when I get the chance after I'm done with portal 2. Should be able to flash and test if my off time coincides with when you guys are working on it.

I'm down for being a beta tester. Any chance there'll be an overclockable kernel?
I thought someone was working on an oc but I haven't heard anything recently. I think I'm gonna have to learn to do it. I honestly have no experience overclocking kernels. But if anyone with experience could help it would be much appreciated.

Needs some testers for my toolkit. I have a nice treat for you!

I have a good treat for you guys. Just need testers to test this new feature in my toolkit. This can brick your phone and I won't be held responsible.
If you are willing to test this for me, PM me for details and I will give you info. If you wanna do it, I'll send you the info you need.
Thanks!

Look at my signature. You can see what it does. The new feature that I am having testers use is not updated in the threads though.
Testing has been closed. Thank you to those who have helped as well as those who have expressed interest. It did not work so I will revise my toolkit with the newly implemented UI soon.
The feature that was in testing was to flash ROMs all through fastboot without the need of using recovery. So basically my toolkit would be your all-in-one tool from unlocking your bootloader to installing a custom ROM to your phone without even touching your phone at all.
I will continue to figure a way to make it happen. I just have to work with other devs to get more knowledge on how this all works.

request to all vivid developers to make usb otg support to their kernels and Roms

hello
if all members send request to powerfull developers to make support our phone from usb otg they do this for us.
some other htc phone got this feature by developers so that may not be very hard to bring him to our phone.
phone like Evo 3D
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1327237
and one X with new custom kernel

Also I'm 99% positive that none of the kernels used in that Rom have otg so not sure what's up with the link.

That link is for EVO 3D, i read the comments for that rom and some guys use this feature. Developer is forbidden by xda and i can access him, any body know him to ask about his rom?
And for one x my friend test this and it worked. I can say how it work.
On rom android revelation 6.0.2, i think kernel was eternityproject-endeavor, and a bat file to run in windows when phone is connected in charge mode.
i think this kernel and bat

If you're referring to the anthrax kernel by chad. He is banned because he won't make his kernel source public which is required by gpl.
As for eternity project it may work but if its the 3.4 kernel forward port of his then its not something I'm likely going to do. Would take more than a couple full days of programming and debugging to get a full 3.4 kernel working on our device. Even at that it would probably only work with asop.

While you are correct, requesting things is kind of a douchebag move unless the dev specifically says it's okay. The developers are giving up their free time to give us these ROMs and we should be happy with whatever they're capable/willing to invest time on.

Depends entirely on what your experience is. There's a big difference between learning to cook having never cooked a thing in your life, and learning to cook French cuisine if you're already a master sushi chef.
I'll play it safe and say I've never cooked a thing in my life, but my dad is also a system engineer and could help if I needed it. I'd rather learn without his help.

Start with an RUU. Run the RUU on your PC. Stop at the first screen after it's done loading, don't proceed, but don't close the window. Start/Run and type %TEMP% and hit enter (this will take you to your user temp folder). Sort the folders by date and open the newest. Here you should find Rom.zip. Use this as your base ROM in the kitchen. Root it, deodex it (or not), zipalign it, etc - and you end up with a flashable ROM from an RUU

New Dev

I would like to start developing roms and apps. How do I get started? I have experience coding in Java and C but I assume Linux is much tougher. Can anyone hook me up with the resources I need? Tutorials? Tips?
