[Q] would you all like a froyosense rom?

So I'm doing well with gingersense and I notice some people still use froyo. So would you all like froyosense weather I compile and modify froyo myself or port it from the desire or evo 4g. Would you all like froyo sense?

chances are that it would work with sprint without any changes needed. worst case you could use an eri.xml file to change the carrier name. all of the sprint roms will work on cellular south. i just wanna see one built from a CS image, and i am sure that there are several others here that would like to see it too.

Are you still helping PMGRANDS froyo rom?
cause its pretyy solid now, minus no gps, Mnetwork fc's and the camera is totally useless. but other than that, its sweet

I helped him a lot before and then I got busy with my own work. But if he needs help I'll be willing to help him here and there when I have free time between my work.

Well i think a 2.2 rom from you would befun. Im running your Gingersense, and its great

but i'm up to the challenge

I cant wait for this . This will be a full ui not just a fully themed like your Gingersense rom .. which i might say is awsome btw

i have never ported a rom and never was interested in it until i thought why not try it
so i'm having trouble with the process but i'm sure xda can help me out

I'll try that after i finish my gingersense and/or froyosense port. I found out why i was having issues porting from the evo or any hdpi device.....you can't
So I'm now trying to port from different devices Hopefully this time all goes well and I have 5 different rom ports I'm going to try
EDIT: Whichever out of the 5 boot I will be releasing Its 1am here but I'm not going to stop working on the ports until 3am

Ill stay up waitn I'd love to test one out I need to flash something new haha
Also ok so I posted before about this but its super important to me is there any way we can somehow fix our heros to put out a infustruction wireless signal so the ps3 can pick it up I do it with my bros evo I rooted hacked ect and well my hero I really wanna b able to connect to psn like I do on my bros evo I mean on 3g cod black ops runs super smooth

Ya man i am in the same boat as you. We only have 2 roms..basically the same. GSM version has a few...sucks for us CDMA users

I'd like to see a gingerbread one but no love for us CDMA users.

I to wondered what happened to the devs.
Well good news, I have a ton of free time, so I have been reading and researching, so I can make a rom.
My goal is to make an eco2 based rom zipaligned, deodexed, and touchwiz free. I'm on and own Verizon cdma tabs, unfortunately I don't have a GSM tab. Spacemoose has been helping me by pointing me towards the right research material, and so far I have pumped out 1 rom, but I failed to include settings, so when I went to fix it I borked it. So I'm starting over again.
But yes, I'm going to try and pick up where others left and at least try to get a tw free eco2 rom out.
After that, ill go for gingerbread.

Are you talking about when the screen freezes up and slows down alot?
I'm thinking that is a kernel issue, it didn't seem to happen before we overclocked.

Yes when it freezes and takes 3 seconds to turn on from standby. I turned app drawer animation and all other animations off so that helped the general screen problems.

Edit: update...I'm working on theme and speed are my main focus.for the rom. Not implementing new features until I know the themed and fast rom.is stable. Also I stopped working with android.a long time ago so I'm re learning but quickly at that.

Do you like the phone? That should answer your question on whether to return it or not.

First off, this question should be in the general section as there is no "Development" going on in it.
Second, Overall, the Thrill is a great phone with Amazing potential when Gingerbread is finally released. When ICS is released, even better. I still feel that when Gingerbread hits, there will be a lot more development going on as no one wants to develop for Eclair since it will be updated in less than a month (hopefully).
With the tri-dual technology, this thing could demolish the SGS2 if given the correct software.
Yes, more development is going on over in the SGS2 forums, so you have a tough decision to make my friend.

Ya I'm a flashaholic, so seeing this forum without very much development on roms is the only thing making me second guess my purchase, the phone itself on the other hand is a very nice piece of machinery...i mean i love the phone even in its stock form...but like i said im a flashaholic and love just tinkering with my phone...not a developer at all : / though I wish i were. I'm coming from a Mytouch 4G which I had sense 3.5 Android 2.3.5...so its just a whole new world to me I guess..

Rom Port Request Thread

Hey, guys! I'm making this thread because I will continue to port roms, but only if it is requested. As you can see I've been on a porting spree but now I want you guys to let me know what rom to port (if any). My ports are solely made to provide the experience of a rom until the owner/dev team of that rom officially supports us. All requests that I post will now be permitted by the owner/s. If I am not allowed, i will let you know here.
So if there is a rom you would like ported, leave a comment and I (and perhaps xcoNjA) will do my best to bring it for you. Thanks guys - Michael
****The rom needs to have the same resolution as the S4 and also an arm7 processor...might be able to do it with an arm6 but yeah (so basically, any rom that works on a different S4 I can almost guarantee it can be ported****

Just ran it... I installed it and restored apn's and its good to go. I flashed ktoonsez new TW kernel with it. Man this rom flies.
Edit: One thing though, you lose lte with a reboot and cant get it back until you on a Sprint rom and update prl and profile.

Thanks again for all the ports. I think I'm less interested in new ports and more interested in the stability of the ones we already have, And don't get me wrong. They're running great already. At this point, if we're able to get 3g and 4g, along with mms working like a stock rom, then I will definitely use them as daily drivers.
Thanks again for bringing some fun to the Sprint forum in the last week.

Josh will never let that one fly.

I know this is asking a TON, but Firefox OS would be absolutely awesome to try on this phone. Mozilla has some documentation on how to build it, but I am not advanced enough quite yet.
Not really expecting data to work, of course. Just a proof of concept and actually trying it on phone software would be awesome.
Then again, I could be completely off base and it could be impossible to flash like you would an android ROM. Who knows.
