trauma and drama.... the whole thing pisses me off. Possibly the best looking ROM for the community and it gets smoked due to one lil' script kiddies actions.

Oh.. that and the whole "donate to get a release early" it just seems to go against what Android and XDA are about.
Meh... here's to the pipe dream of Cyanogen Mod coming to Captivate in the near future.

Wow WTF this was the best ROM i've ever had. Makes me wish I knew how to dev.... this sucks...

agreed. What makes it worse.. is even IF it were to get done on Master TM's website.. someone else would have to dev it as hans quit after he had to pull it from XDA.
So - I'm moving on to the next shiny new ROM.

Dammit in that case I guess I'm going back to stock...

Custom rom soon...

I have found a great guide for building a custom rom from other roms or the stock rom and I will be attempting to build my own rom from the stock rom. Although I do like some of spz's ideas I do realize he's a busy man, and I can't wait any longer after flashing a custom rom to my friends Ascend.

Also, in part 2 when flashing the rom it says to reboot into recovery. We will use the tether method using openzio's clockworkmod recovery at this point.
If you do not have backups of boot.img recovery.img system.img please do so using nandroid backup the in the backup folder replace nandroids backup of boot.img with the one I extracted. Can be found here... http://db.tt/zisPRYH

Well... I will be releasing my first theme this weekend. Just figured out how to get it to flash in clockwork and I am making some minor tweaks. I strayed away from my original idea a bit but I think you'll still like what I've put together.

[Solved] I just can't figure out how to integrate downloaded/installed apps into the standard ROM on the Zio. Titanium Backup PRO will do this for me, but I don't have $6. XD the life of the unemployed. Anyway, anyone with info would be greatly appreciated.

I for one am enjoying the Zio It actually feels like a solid device ( Using 2.2 and OpenZio ) compared to my HTC Raphael. Decent specs, just needs a streamlined ROM. Patience is a virtue Besides, Cricket here in Baltimore is AWS so it looks like the device lineup is limited anyway...... you might want to check up on the type of service you are using in your area too Not ANY WCDMA cell will work.....but maybe I should have let you buy it and waste money / time trying to flash it to cricket
Happily enjoying my 50 / Month all everything plan..... much cheaper than the 140 I was paying ATT using my Rhodium. I get the same if not better speeds with MUCH lower latencies!!!!

We've got a pretty decent rom being put together. It's alot of trial and error. We need more help to get to a beta release.
We have many that want custom roms, but how many are willing to contribute?

I thought someone was working on an oc but I haven't heard anything recently. I think I'm gonna have to learn to do it. I honestly have no experience overclocking kernels. But if anyone with experience could help it would be much appreciated.

Theme Proposal Calling ComRom theme authors

Now that we've established interest ...here's the deal we are looking for wallpaper submissions. Theses wallpapers will be the default wallpaper and some replacement launcher wallpaper.
THE RULES:
1. NO NSFW...sorry guys this is a G rated site.
2. Wallpapers must be original works. Submissions must be received by 6/12.
3. Submissions need to be PM'd to myself and nitsuj17.
4. Colors must be something we can edit to match the theme once color scheme is agreed on.
Top five will make it into the theme #1 to be the default wallpaper. The rest to be included in the launcher. Also the wallpaper designers will be credited in the op. Let's see some creativity .

I was thinking that our community theme authors could pool our various talents for a Community Theme. Each theme author assigned a certain aspect to work on. This would be once color and general scheme was agreed on. So that's the basis of it.

yeah its a neat idea...back in early march post froyo leak but during boring times i had discusses a similar idea for a group theme with thatdudebutch, bendbowden, omj etc...but then i think we had a new froyo leak and that was that
but i like it
id be more than willing to contribute in some way, as long as someone else (ie you sunder ) was organizing it and overseeing it

Yeah I would be more than willing to be the maintainer. My hope is we do a 100% hand built framework not alot of recolor/copy paste type work...from batteries to buttons lol something 100% original.

I dunno... we will put some serious thought into it. Maybe post a polled forum with color options and let the community vote. It will be an undertaking as we plan on doing it from basically scratch.

Yeah a boot with the main contributors of com rom's names doing a fly in and out animation or something then at the end do an explosion with expanding text of "Community Rom " ?

yeah i cant really do anything on the weekends anyway...and between com rom being released then miuiwiz 1.1 (although that updates been ALL andmer)...and working on my charge gb theme and trying to get them reboot options...lot on my plate the next few days anyway
so next week sounds good

Can't blame you. As much as I call it "work" flashing & re-flashing ROMs I can only imagine how much work it is to make them. One reason I have never taken that step to get to the next level here as I also deal with so much tech stuff at work and don't want it to consume all my free time too. BTW I also would never want to be doing those 24 hour dev marathons you do, hope you will finally sleep and pour those God awful Monster drinks down the drain where they belong! OK I'm through preaching.

Oh, wow. Didn't know you guys were still working on it lol. I saw the boot animation though and it looks really nice. I would suggest you guys all take a break sometime haha. You guys have been pumping out updates and new roms like crazy. Breaks are great

I love the AOSP 4.0 ROM. It's the only one where everything feels snappy. The only issues with it though is that GMAIL doesn't show me my email messages at times. It just shows a white screen. It gets fixed with a reboot, so it's not a huge issue.

That's an old bug with custom ICS ROMs that are all based on CM9. You can go into settings, apps, GMail and clear cache when that happens instead of rebooting each time. Just keep in mind you'll probably still get that bug from time to time as it was never fixed.

I've tried most everyone's builds from GB, ICS and JB for this device. RebelROM is by far the snappiest and smoothest. Uses less ram and space.Great work Bpear and thanks to all who have devoted so much time to make this great, relativeally cheap, phone something very special.
