Im going to sell my AT&T Gtab and was wondering what rom would bring the most money on ebay? Right now im running the newest Overcome. Should I stock it to Froyo or maybe run stock Gingerbread?
I'd flash the newest unrooted stock, unless a potential buyer wants a custom rom on it... I think most potential buyers would want something "unaltered" and "fresh out of box" but maybe on your ad post that you can install custom firmware/root if requested... just my opinion

I have an unlocked, nonrooted AT&T/Rogera N1 running stock froyo (frf91). I am very interested in rooting and flashing CM6 and trying out other custom roms, but if I want to get back to stock froyo, how do I do it?
Keep in mind that I'm a newbie, and yes I've searched the forums but I haven't seen this specific question asked.
Any help is appreciated, since I'm still learning. Thanks.

Yes, once you're rooted you can switch to any ROM you want with ease, even stock should you wish.

You can even use the ROM Manager application included with CM6 to automagically download and flash stock images. You know, if you wanted to.
Thanks for the help guys!

ok first i am a total newbie.. planning to buy my first android phone and i am interested with the unlocked milestone as it seems to be the cheapest flash 10.1(i am very interested in flash too) enabled android phone out there.. i read the bootloader is locked... which means you cannot load custom roms on it..
i also read that using 2nd boot or kexec, u can load custom roms on it... my question is with these 2 methods, can u load a full custom rom(e.g. android 2.3) on milestone or is it still very limited and u must wait for actual official android 2.3??
i always want a gadget that u can fully customize...
IN SHORT, STAY AWAY FROM MOTO, AND NO OFFICAL 2.2 ROM MEANS NO FLASH SUPPORT OFFICALLY. TAKE A LOOK AT MOTO EURO FACEBOOK.

Moto locked up te bootoader, that means you are not allow to use unoffical kernel, and no full custom rom

the 2.2 update was delayed again until q1 2011. im seriously thinking of returning it for a refund.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=815595
so this custom rom is a fake froyo? No flash 10.1?
You can't say that is a fake froyo, as it is a real froyo with Flash support, but all froyo mod are using the leak 2.2 beta kernel, which still had many bugs. and we can't use a custom kernel as MOTO had locked the bootloader, so back to the how hackable question, Milestone is not very hackable, because we can't use custom kernel and that means many things can't do.
I'm looking for a more stable ROM for my G1. I've been running it on the Chromatic Dream for too long, I want something that can make it a daily user again without lagging/much lagging and without draining the battery. Thx in Advance.

well those are some pretty high demands coming from a junior member... j/k
lol im not going to say 1 rom is better than another because it depends what you like in a rom, but to be straight forward with it... Froyo is the way to go, there are many different kinds... stock froyo, themed froyo, even sense froyo!! but i believe the most stable/un-complained about rom would be Froyo by laszlo... hands down this rom is just... almost perfect, so try that and other froyo roms till your happy
happy flashing and good luck!!
Thx for the intel. I downloaded the ROM by Laszlo this morn; I'm hoping to have it flashed on my G1 this weekend. And again Thx.

I also wanted to know since my G1 is already rooted do I have to flash another custom recovery and re-do adb. Couldn't I just load the new custom ROM on the root of my SDCard and flash it?

Where can I find laszlo's latest rom? The only one I could find was discontinued in march.

yeah the sad truth about laszlo's rom is it was discontinued, but is still the most stable... lol and yes you can just put a rom on root of sd and flash to your device... but be sure to wipe data

As long as you do a full wipe via recovery first, that's the preferred way of installing new ROMs...
This phone must have over 100 roms in total, you should be able to pick one from that batch...

Dose Laszlo have a Gingerbread G1/Magic ROM?
no not that i know of...
So yeah, after a while and after many threads about what phone I should buy, I finally decided to get Incredible S
Going to buy it, there are two stores who are main sponsers of HTC in my place .. One sells the device out-of-the-box with Gingerbread, the other sells it with Froyo
I read somewhere that you can't S-Off the Incredible S with Gingerbread (Or it's more risky, don't remember what exactly) .. and it's easy with Froyo. I'm interested in rooting and custom ROMs since I prefer the Vanilla Android interface over any company UI (Sense included) .. so if I bought the device I'd probably stay with it for a week atleast before I flash a non-Sense ROM (Revolution, Cyanogen, be it)
Put yourself in my shoes, which version would you buy?
Thanks.
I did it all on GB 2.3 without any troubles. Running Android Revolution with sense add on.

Correct me if i am wrong, but I thought the first batches of the incredible S. Thus the 2.2 versions had a different manufacturer for the S LCD displays. A better one. So I would google that en then make the decission..

I don't believe there has been a GB 2.3.3 release for the IncS that is not rootable at this time using http://revolutionary.io.
for me it was quiete difficult to s-off, i had to downgrade to stock ruu and do all kind of other things. i think its easier with 2.2.
when i think about it, with my desire it was done in 10min to root and s-off.
My Inc S came with 2.3.3 and sense 2.1 - I rooted no problem and am running CM7
There are no additional steps to root 2.3.3
Really?

I don't believe this is a fair enough question to ask! You should ask yourself which interface you desire most in using Android device? Is it Froyo or Gingerbread?
If you leave this question to me to answer, I would tell you it doesn't matter, cause buying HTC device is never a problem. Why? because you can always find more tewaks and developments for such devices. You just have to choose a good processor (1 Ghz or more) device with a quiet good size of RAM (512 or above).
Cheers
Re-thought this... You'd have to install a new radio going from froyo to gingerbread so if you don't want to spend the 30 seconds doing that or if your an idiot go 2.3.
Recommend 2.3
Every Android Phone that I have owned, before selling it, I revert it back to the stock firmware that it came with. GingerBread seems so outdated that I feel bad making anyone use it. Should I roll it back and sell it unrooted?
Why not ics latest official release? JB leak is not really the choice if your buyer is a casual user

If you know the buyer put the most stable rom on (I'm still on bangsti's LS7 release and i don't have the random reboots with data corruption ppl have with LSA (notably LSC) onwards).
If not who cares what rom is on the phone, not your problem, remember sold as seen lol

Official Samsung ICS. It works perfect, probably would not want to subject a buyer to any bugs, even 1 or 2, they may not be able to correct it themselves, may not be flashers like us.. Play it safe

I would put GB on it as the owner will most probably want to do a factory reset on it. If he/she bricks it in ICS then he or she will blame you.
Stock ICS with a Brick free kernel.
Few days I ago I flashed GB from my region on my note and decided to upgrade to ICS without flashing. But samsung servers refused to upgrade with phone and with keis. So, had to flash ICS. I think everyone who uses smart phones knows that Note have ICS. If they can not upgrade through Samsung they will blame you again. and ICS will putthem at risk of bricking the phone. SO ,,,,,,,
Here is my suggestion. As buyer knows that there is no warranty on phone, then I would tell them truth. and If they decide to have ICS (which samsung did upgrade from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4). Then flash it for them. And tell them the risk, or they can have the phone with same ROM you have installed on it.
