Webtop/Motorola Dock Service - Motorola Droid Bionic

Hello everyone,
I am having issues with connecting an HDMI cable to my Bionic to an HD TV so that I can mirror my phones screen. When I connect the cable, nothing pops up on my phone asking me how I would like to use the connection, either for mirroring, youtube, gallery, etc. I believe the issue is that I backed up and uninstalled the necessary software using Titanium Backup. However, I cannot restore those apps for some reason. TB just constantly says that it is restoring the app, but it takes way too long and I have restored other apps before. So, I think I just need a copy of the necessary apk files in order for the HDMI cable to work. Could anyone attach a copy of those apk files for me? The webtop session apk and motorola dock service apk.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't know if I am correct in my assessment. I've been searching for this issue here and I haven't really come across anything. Someone did mention something about a link to a backup of all apk files, but I haven't found that link.
Thanks!

Check if "dock service" is in your system/app folder and try installing it that way first.

WebtopSession, dlauncher, and dock.service are all in that folder and I tried installing all of them but they all said application not installed after the attempt.

None of those are listed. However, there is "com.motorola.android.mirrorservice" but I could not clear the cache and data because those buttoms are grayed out.
neckbonest, I will try that.

It works! Thanks for your help!

Missing applications from my apps in market

I own a nexus one, and after upgrading to gingerbread, some applications which are installed such as dolphin browser and soundhound are installed but are not listed as installed on the market and thus I don't get update notifications for them.
I tried to clear data on the market app to re sync the installed apps but it had been disabled on gingerbread
Can anyone shed some light please?
Thanks in advance,

Do they at least appear on the market?
Yes, I even re-installed the apps, still not showing in my apps though.

You might be able to use Titanium Backup's "Market Doctor" function to re-establish the application links to the Market, though I believe that requires root.
Give it some times, they'll probably come back on it's own.
If not use Market Doctor like suggested, that might or might not solve it.
It has happened to me here and there and usually fix itself.
Another thing you can try is download an app, any app (something free that can be delete afterward) and see if that bring the missing apps back.

[APP] Hulu Plus - WORKING!

Follow these steps to get Hulu Plus working:
1. Delete any copy of Hulu Plus from your phone.
2. Download the file from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19377222&postcount=7
3. Extract the 3 files into your TitaniumBackup folder.
4. Restore Hulu Plus from Titanium Backup using App+Data.
Thank derek4484 for providing the files since Rootzwiki did not host it anymore and thank him in his post too.
Note: In order to use Hulu Plus, disable ad blocking using AdFree or any other similar app.
This would complete the Captivate
any updates? Anyone found a workaround to get hulu plus app to work on the captivate?
Sheb
This needs to be done already
If you are rooted just find a titanium back up of the app ( it is somewhere in this forum) and back it up. Worked for me and I do believe it is the only work around. The hulu app checks for compatibility in a different manner then Netflix did. Netflix was easy to fool
Do you mind attaching the TiBu backup for the Hulu Plus app since it doesn't seem to be available on Rootzwiki anymore.
I found the Hulu Plus backup and restored it with titanium backup, but it still didnt work. As soon as I started Hulu plus a big red/white error window popped up and said device not supported.
Edit: OK I only restored App from Titanium Backup. Once I restored App+Data it works great.
Just extract the three files within this to your titanium backup folder on the SD card, go into titanium backup and restore app+data. Should work.

Nice!!! I just tried this out and it works great. I havent found any bugs yet but will update if I do. Finally Hulu Plus for Captivate!
Edit: Ok I have a bad wireless and 3g connection at my house but after the advertisement loads I can't get the video to play even when adjusted to low quality. It says your network appears to have problems. Let me know if its working for you and I'll try again on my campus wireless tomorrow and when I have better 3g service.
Hulu +
Worked!!! Awesome! Tx.:d
Can either of you all confirm that you are able to stream video? I still can't get past the advertisement screen.

This is probably because you are blocking ads via your /etc/hosts file. If you are using any non-stock ROM this is probably true. This interferes with Hulu's ads and prevents it from continuing. If you download and install the "AdFree" from the market then use it to revert to the non-blocking hosts file, then Hulu should work. When you are done watching, you can run AdFree again to reblock ads (if you want).
I've been using ad free and trying to revert my host file but I still can't get past the ad screen. Any way I can do this manually or other possible solutions?
Sent from my Samsung Captivate running Andromeda³
Well, you can look at the file /etc/hosts, if it has been successfully reverted then it should just be one line:
127.0.0.1 localhost
You can probably do this manually if you use root explorer (or equivalent) to make the file writable.
This works for me great with WiFi, but hit and miss on 3G, depending on signal strength.

I checked the host file and it has been reverted. Still running into problems though. I get to the screen of Ad: Your video will resume soon but under loading circle and buffering it says: It appears you are having network issues. Please wait, or try again later.
Im going to mess around with clearing data on things today and see what happens.
Works great. Now does anyone know how to get around the 8 bucks a month you gotta pay to use it

Please can someone help me with this issue?! My sister have a Samsung Vibrant and after one whole night, I finally rooted her phone with Superoneclick just to help her install Hulu Plus on it. I got the app working but like so many others, I am stuck on the buffering screen!
I've tried the AdFree method of reverting my host file, rebooted, but still no go. I've tried uninstalling AdFree, rebooting. No go. I've tried booting into recovery mode to clear cache but no go. I've installed ES File Explorer to manually view my Host file and it is empty except for the 127.0.0.1 line. I am literally pulling my hair out.
Is there any other way to unblock ads on the phone to get Hulu Plus working? Is there like some sort of secret cache that I'm suppose to clear using a secret utility I don't know of? Please I need help!
I was never able to get it working on my phone either. I'm convinced it won't work on froyo based roms. I get the same issue with it never being able to get past the buffering screen even with a clean host file. If you are ever able to get it to work on a 2.2 ROM let me know.

Thanks for the quick reply. Sucks for you to hear this but at least I'm glad I'm not the only one with the problem. I'm regretting ever telling my sister to get an Android phone. This is so ridiculous, although I understand this is not exactly the operating system's fault.
I'm about to give up on getting this thing to work on her phone. It's madness.

Random Titanium Backup Question

After searching the forum I cannot find the answer, so I am hoping someone has run into this issue as well.
Everytime I flash a ROM I restore my apps and app data from Titanium (no system data), which works fine every time. However, one of those times I decided to run the Market Doctor and "fix" the market links. What I forgot about before I did that is not all of my apps come from the Android market, some come from the Amazon market. So the apps from the Amazon market are now associated with the android market and show up as needing to be updated, which fails of course because some are paid apps on Android so the download/install is declined. I have tried uninstalling from Android and reinstalling from amazon, then restoring data only from Titanium, but the Android market still hangs on to them. Is there anyway to "unfix" what Titanium did via the Market Doctor? This also applies even after wiping and installing a new ROM because it is now associated with the Android market on their end, not only on my device of course. A wipe data of the android market doesn't work either.
Any thoughts? Thanks everyone!

Had the same problem but i use app manager now and it gives me the option to unlink the app from amazon but the funny thing is it still shows up randomly. So i gave up on it.

1) Open Titanium Backup
2) Go to the "Backup/Restore" tab
3) Find the App which is now wrongly associated with the Android Market
4) Long press on that App in the App list
5) Click "Detach from Market"
I don't know of any way to do this in bulk, but this is what's worked for me

[Q] How to delete downloads in Samsung apps

My Samsung Apps icon shows a "1" on the top right corner, which means that one of the apps has an update. It turns out to be the eBook app which I never could successfully install, and it turns out that I can't update it either!
Is there anyway I can remove the notification or delete that app from the list of downloads (in the Samsung app, click on the left menu button > my page > downloads). It has a history of all the Samsung apps that I'd previously downloaded, even the ones I've deleted. I tried clearing the cache of the app and force stopping but it didn't help. Even turning off New application notification doesn't help, neither does wiping my cache and dalvik.
I'm pretty sure there must be a folder somewhere where I can tinker with all these information. Does anyone know?
I am using Titanium Backup to freeze and delete all kind of apps.
The ebooks app doesn't even show up in Titanium, so I can't freeze it.

I do have the same "1"!!
tried to solve it but no luck
I had the same issue as you, and updating to the latest firmware solved the problem. I'm now on DXLC2, and SamsungApps maintains a history of what I have downloaded before, and also shows the ones currently installed. It no longer thinks that I've installed the Ebook app (which hanged halfway) and tells me there's an update.
If you're not rooted, the Kies way *may* work, as another poster mentioned from another thread. I don't know as I'm rooted so I can't verify that. But after you've connected your phone in Kies, on the top right of the screen, you should sign in, then go to MyDownloads. Do let us know if this works, as I'm curious too.
I think Changing samsung account will be final option.

I tried that, but it didn't work. Annoying, I know. Someone mentioned wiping the SD card, which I haven't done yet, and no longer need to since upgrading of firmware helped.
BTW, I posted in the wrong thread (Which is why "I wrote I had the same issue as you"); there was someone else who started another thread about this issue after me, and I'd meant to reply to that one!

Thanks for the suggestion, but it doesn't work either. The issue here is a Samsung app that shows as having been downloaded, when it hasn't (e.g. stopping the installation before it finishes). So it doesn't even show in my app drawer. Anyway, I suppose the issue has been fixed, though I can only guess at how to clear the history of installed apps which still shows up.
I had same problem...change the samsung account helps me, hope it helps you to

Skype force closes

I have the kindle fire hd 7 inch non rooted. Skype works perfectly while kindle is on. After maybe ten mins of having the screen off, when I receive a call it rings but when I unlock the device a little box in the middle says "skype force closed", or something like that, and you can either choose "wait" or "ok". Anyone else experiencing this? I was thinking of using the phone version instead of the kindle version to see if it is better.

try this
Try using the program "Skype Boot." You don't need to have the Play Store installed; use go to the 1Mobile website, download the installation APK, install, open, and search for the Skype Boot program--enables opening Skype at boot up. I'm not sure it will help you, and you'll have to reboot to try it. I'd uninstall your version of Skype, and select to download the one fresh from the Amazon App store labeled for Kindle Fire. When you uninstall, select to uninstall from the app settings menu--completely wipe the program. Force close, wipe data, then wipe cash, then uninstall. That's just what I'd do. Then re-install the app, selecting it from the app store.
Sign in to it. I have a microsoft account I sign in with. probably doesn't matter. after that, go and open the Skype boot app from 1Mobile ('cause you didn't have any issues installing that, right? SHOULDN'T). Select to load Skype at bootup. Navigate out of that app, and reboot, see if that helps.
I've things a bit different in my setup; I'm rooted, and I used titanium backup to convert Skype to a system app. It hasn't force closed since yesterday when I rebooted. Also, if I go to my settings menu and look at installed applications and select to view running applications, Skype is not listed as running, but it definitely is (showing Online status in the notifications pull-down).
Just FYI, there's no harm in rooting, it won't break anything--but installing the Play Store is a bit complicated. Most people, myself included are not remotely interested in installing a recovery or flashing a ROM; it's risky, and any ROM you might flash at this point will seriously decrease the KFHD functionality. At this point this thing Flies, especially in comparison to the original KF. Flash a ROM and you likely won't even be able to play video (hehe, you might brick it too, if you're lucky!). Don't hold your breath on getting a ROM that actually improves Amazon stock function. That kinda broke even with the original KF, and with HD I don't think the incentive is really there to move and shake, dev-wise.
