I just installed the official CM 7.1 on my x8 and everything on it is brilliant except my wifi isn't working. After some reading I realised that this is a common problem but I'm wondering is there any fix for it yet?

I think you should use another custom rom which based on cm7.2. That's gonna be better.
oh ok! Any suggestions? Will wifi work on those?

Thats fantastic, thank you very much! Just installed it there and it seems awesome!
Hi everybody, It happened to me several times to be connected to wifi, but without having a real working connection.
It was impossible to connect to internet with any application, though signal on the status bar appeared correctly.
A reboot solves temporarily this problem, but sometimes gets rather annoying.
I'm on apocalypse final, with latest firekernel.

Yeah, I had a similar problem too.
It happened even when my phone wasnt even rooted!
Im sure the dev would come up with a fix.
Ok I have other details of my problem.
I'm on Apocalypse Final, using Amarullz and latest Firekernel.
The only way i found to use Wi-Fi without problems is to turn it on and then reboot the phone. This way it connects and works fine.
The bad thing is i have to reboot once again to use data connection, otherwise won't connect.
Could please someone give me a peace of advice? I could stand this, it's not a huge problem since i don't switch much between data and Wi-Fi, but it's a weird thing...

I feel its a problem in the Kernel itself.
idk if its possible (I think it is, i've never tried it), if you could flash a new kernel and check?
I'll try if i can but this week I'm very busy...

Hello Community!
I've got a problem with my Galaxy Ace. I've installed the latest CM7 nightly (2012-10-14) and installed CronMod INT2EXT+ script.
In addition i've installed the newest Firekernel (2012-10-09) OC, official.
I've encountered a problem while using Bluetooth. With enabled Bluetooth the phone won't go into Deep Sleep mode. Is it a Kernel problem, or has it something to do with CM7?
Hoping to find a solution for my problem.
Cheers
Alex

Nope, no solution till now... I think i will try it with the stock kernel of CM7... Maybe it's because of the Firekernel...

I installed stocklite v7.1 and no deep sleep problem.
I'll try to find from were comes the problem in the following days.
I'll update you
Stock CM Kernel
I've just tried the stock CM7 Kernel, but also no Deep Sleep while Bluetooth is enabled.
The rom with wich i encoutered this problem is based on cm7.
Maybe we are not alone in this case but nobody else care about it.

You should try Stocklite 7.1
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1703094
It has a very good battery life
I added int2ext+ to extend internal memory to sdcard
adrenaline engine to speed up the phone
firekernel
and ICS MOD http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1926596
now my rom is pretty close to CM7

Okay, seems to be a nice combination of mods...
But Firekernel with a Stock ROM? Is everything working properly then (WiFi, Bluetooth)?

Like a charm
I tried many roms, for me its the best in terms of battery life/reactivity (i don't play games).
I had strange behaviour after installing one of those mods (on don't remember wich one) but after a restart everithing is ok.
In this configuration mi battery is at 60% after a day of work (about 12 hours), my average use is half an hour of call, bluetooth always on and connected during one hour, wifi and 3g always on.
I use Juice defender but never compared with and without
Nice, but when i tried the ROM yesterday i was not able to see my SmartWatch...
Neither with the ROMs Kernel, nor with the Firekernel... I tried only the ROM without any modification but also the same result!
I was able to connect to my Notebook and to other Phones but i was not able to see my Smartwatch.
Very strange behavior and i don't know why... My Notebook and other Phones could connect to the Watch... Now i switched back to CM7 and it's working again...

Hello,
I have problem with my GPS. The GPS sees only 3 satellites. I'm install Dmod V6 and PAC by Maclaw. And I have flash the fix by Benz (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2161857&d=1375530188) but nothing changes. And the connection is very long
My Galaxy Spica (on CyanogenMod 6) can see ten satellite.
I live in France.
It is possible to increase the number of connection ?
Sorry for my bad english.

Can you open google play and dowload to GPS Faster
Hey there!
I had the same issue recently when I moved to the UK!
Try finding a file named gps.conf in your /system/etc/ folder, open it with your favourite text editor (root required) and find a line with something like
"NTP_SERVER=uk.pool.ntp.org"
where UK might be US or Europe or something like that, and change it accordingly to wherever you live. Here's a link with valid values:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1200089
This solved my problem, I used to have 3 sats top, and now the phone sees at least like 14-16 every time.

good point, nope haven't tried it on 4.2.2 ROMs
Thanks for your replies!
I tried the gps.conf patch and used fasterGPS, still I get only 3 satellites. If I'm lucky i get 4, but that happens rarely.
If I put my p3110 next to my s3 mini i get 11 or more satellites.
I'm on a 4.2. rom so perhaps thats the issue

I just tried stock rom with android 4.1.GPS is working there. So it seems to be an issue with 4.2/maclaws cm rom.

from the posts I have seen so far there is no fix for the GPS issue on cm 10.1 ROM's
so if GPS is important to you then i would suggest going to one of the custom stock ROM's
or
just go back to your original stock ROM

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
