Hello,
Since I bought my cell (about 1 year ago) I've been experiencing low battery life. I've used different roms, tried about almost everything to decrease battery consumption (2g, no wi-fi, etc) but it still lasts about max 8h (moderate usage). While using continously it lasts max 2-3h. So is this normal, what could I possibly do about it or should I just buy a new battery?
Currently running Nova Hd RC 21-39 with Supernova pre RC-3 kernel.

No that's no where near normal. Could you get a screen shot the battery usage ?

Not sure if you ment those stats, just tell me if it are not the right stats.
Translation:
Signal mobile network
Wi-fi
Turned on
Screen on
Charging

Other stats are:
Screen - 92% (on automatic though) Wi-fi - 7%
Mobile stand-by - 3%
Yes, it makes 102% kinda weird ^^

don't sorry about screen percentage, its heaps inaccurate.
Could you install system panel from the market and tell me what the cpu's are doing on idle?

Nothing really special, it varies tho sometimes it goes to max instantly and drops back within 2s

same issue here..
running nova hd RC22-41..
I'm pretty sure the battery if screwed. You can pick one up off eBay for a steal.

Your cpu is at 50% all the time, how is that nothing special?
Install os monitor and check whats using the cpu.

Wait. When you say drops back? What does it drop back to?

Short answer yes i did and it helps a nit

Looked at OS monitor and only thing that consumed cpu is android system (5%) and system (2%)

I'm running CM7.2 RC1
Worked fine for a while and now th phone looses 10% per hour (idle). Checked OS monitor and System panel but there is nothing eating CPU or something that shouldn't run.
Only thing that changed between the two phone states (fine / annoying as hell) is some experimenting with GetRIL. So I re-installed the RIL (v20l) that worked fine before but it didn't help.
Also I have two batteries. The original LG and the Andida, both give crappy results. Think I'm going to try to go back to the stock ROM, see if it helps.
i just did that. having two batteries will probably confuse the calibration unless u calibrated them the same way. either way, from what im guessing, not fully discharging the batt will mess the readings as 1 constant battery ?
According to my earlier measurements the Andida is also about 1500 mAh in real life. So it shouldn't differ much. From what I read clearing the battery stats doesn't do much, said some Google developer. I'm back to v20r now and it looks much better.
40% in 7 hours, before it was 10% per hour idle.
Today it was even better, ~30% in 8 hours. This looks more like I was used to.

OK I really do like the overall device, the power and the os but I really prefer the form factor and lower weight of my galaxy tab 7.7. Yes I know one is higher end, has a better screen and costs a lot more ...
Holding the GTab for extended periods just feels better.
Once I get the nova launcher running and I can hold the N7 in portrait I meant landscape then I am sure it will felt better.
Anyone using nova launcher? Looks like to really get the most out of it I have to upgrade vice using the free.

Enable tablet mode (160 dpi), and there is no need for nova as the stock launcher will rotate.

Tablet mode? I do realize it will auto rotate but not on the main screen home

Nova is nice though because you can set animation speeds.... feels super slick

Hey guys, I would like to share this battery saver apk with you.
One Power Guard is a unique battery enhancement tool designed to conserve your battery power an increase uptime on rooted Android smartphones/tablets.
Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.onexuan.batter
XDA topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1947559
You can even calibrate your battery.
You need to root your phone to use this apk.
Have a look to battery saving tips from my signature.
Its silly to download apps conserving battery.
They also uses battery and ram.

Yes, but this one is different. Test it if you don't believe me, it tweaks your kernel and other stuff with different settings for every mod.

Battery calibration doesn't work as well on newer Android devices due to many changes in the past year or so to how Android reads battery percentage, sometimes it varies form device to device.
Battery life on the DC is great compared to bigger devices, EG; Nexus 5. Mainly due to small screen and low speed CPU.

Hi...m using arhd rom 10.3 ...on my htc one...m very satisfied with rom but everytime i wanted to flash coustom kernel ....it do not install....stock kernel is using a lots of battery.....is there any kernel tht is available which works....sply to battery life....thanks in advance
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
There aren't any kernels that work with 4.2.2 based ROMs as far as I am aware. You'd have to go back to 4.1.2 if you want to flash a custom kernel.
Thnx.....but m a heavy user my battery drains very very fast...moreover it chargers very slowly too....any mod or tweak for tht....i put it on auto brightness...and autosync off......but didnt helped much...only get 5% better result......

How heavy are we talking? Just turn Power Saver on, you'll save battery by not heating up as much, and heat also reduces the power of your battery so double dip gain.
I'd say invest in a battery case or pack if your phone can't last you a day.

Well i use fone sixteen hours a day with always on data or wifi...power saving is on...except heptic feedback...as m very use to of haptic feedback.....slow chargering is also a big issue....it drains at the rate of 10% per 25 minutes.....

My NOOK still runs stock rom and the software has been updated to 2.1.1. I set 30% brightness and only use it for browsing Internet.
I always turn the Wi-Fi off when I don't use this tablet. But I only got 4 hour battery life from full charge. Is it normal?
That sounds too low. Is it new or refurbished?

Thanks for your reply. My NOOK HD+ was new, not refurbished.
I only installed some apps, as nova launcher, es file explorer and Dolphin browser.
Do you have any idea to improve or recalculate battery?
If you're talking 4hrs of continuous use non-stop it doesn't sound too far off. But if you aren't doing that, which I'm imagining you aren't, it seems low.
How long have you had it? If it's only been a couple days then your battery is still calibrating and will get better.
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk
Run a battery app to see what is using the battery. You could have an application that is keeping the nook from sleeping. You should get better than that. Yesterday I plugged in before bed I checked and I was at 1 day 17 hours with 6 hours of screen time and I still had 41% left. That was 70/30 reading/games.
