Hi,
i have a big problem i think...
using my GN for a while playing or listening music, the phone goes for high temp around 44°C and sometimes this heat occurs for no reason.
Moreover, using go locker when i change the default background to a custom wallpaper, the GN goes to high temp and this issue is systematic!!
The other problem is that with this high temp, my clock widget get freezed on the desk. I need to remove it and add it again when the temp is low (around 30°)
this happens with several clock widgets (BW, Simi, typo,...) and different roms (romow 5.1, rocket v12, cassie v5)
For information, when i received my GN with KJ1 stock rom, i wasn't able to play Angry birds has i had graphicals bugs (can't see birds, balck squares in menu,...)
Then flashed to KL7 (rocket and official) and it was ok
but not ok with KL7 cassie v5
I need your HELP plz, do i have a gpu issue? (dont know has all 3d HD games are working fine)
what should i do, return the phone?
thx

Hey guys, a few days ago, I updated from Cyanogen5.07 T5 to 5.07 DS. After updating, I noticed more than a few of my apps weren't showing up under Settings>Applications. Weird, I know.
So to fix this, I wiped, reflashed. While re-installing the apps I had on my phone, I tried to download a very particular app: Flipclock medium. After various searches through market for "Flipclock", "clock", "flip", and "medium", I still could not find the app.
I tried a variation of the app, retro flip clock widget, but the clock freezes constantly and stops moving. I would have to remove the widget and replace it again. Obviously this isn't a viable solution.
Additional notes:
I have tried Weather Widgets Donate and Weather Widgets (yr.no). Neither one will keep from freezing. I also know about the 4x2 flipclock widgets that have shown up on market but I do not like the look of these and do not wish to bother trying them.
In conclusion:
Does anyone know if this clock freezing is an issue with CM 5.07 DS?
Does anyone know if it's just me that can't see flipclock medium on market?
Does anyone have an existing APK of flipclock medium (it's a free app)?
Please answer asap, thank you.
Anyone? Really looking for help on this..
Also tried Beautiful Widgets which worked for a while but for no reason, started to freeze for me again. Also generated a lot of lag after a while, as well as showing a force close notification even when there were no Beautiful widgets present on screens.
i just flashed to the cynogen mod and noticed a few diffferences
- when i change the background it doesnt always change the lockscreen background
- my N1 torch doesnt work on high brightness
- the scrolling effect on the application menu is gone
does anyone know how to fix these issues?
Edit - i also flash the mod NeXuS HaZ 720p

I cant help you with the first 2 issues but i can help with the third. You can do one of two things, install a extra launcher to replace ADW call launcher pro (its in the market and its free and easy) or you can install launcher2.apk, which looks perfectly identical to froyo default screen, I dont think this one is in the market, but its all over this forum. Personally I like the launcher pro rather then the launcher2, but its all personal preference.
I believe the reason that N1 torch high brightness doesn't work is because of the kernel used for 720p camera or something like that.
Hi,
My wife got a Milestone some weeks ago and we've noticed that the clock widget keeps getting late (the system clock is always perfectly in time) if the phone is inactive for some time or if it's been used a lot. I've installed another clock widget and the same thing keeps happening. I've tried both widgets on my Samsung Vibrant and this doesn't happen. Did this happen to anyone else?
thanks
Rafa
Bump.......
Fancy Widget
There another clock and weather widget called Fancy Widget on the Android Market. I've used that widget on my Motorola Milestone and it works fine.
We've tried 2 clock widgets already and both had the same trouble.
We've just realized that all clock related apps are progressively getting late. The phones' stock clock is always on time, but all other apps are late. Any thoughts on where the issue is?
We´ve tested without the task killer and the issue persists. I was starting to think this could cpu related, but I think that´s impossible, otherwise there would be thousands of Milestone users complaining about this.

This doesnt happen to me...
I have used several clock widgets from the market and various roms.
How much is the time drift?
Sent from my Milestone using Tapatalk
The time drift is gradual. It starts with 1 minute and if it can go up to 10...but then if you lock the phone and then unlock it the system updates the time to the correct time.
I've been using samsung calendar clock widget for a week or so now and I've noticed considerable battery drain!!
I've removed the widget and everything's back to normal.
Has anyone experienced something like this?
I mean you would expect samsung widgets to be perfectly optimized for their own devices..
Well, widgets do drain bit of battery, set them to less frequent or manual sync. Also, I find the phone laggy after using 3-4 big widgets.
if u using only samsung calendar clock widget and there a BIG difference on ur battery drain it's not normal.
I think it also depends on a lot of other stuffs like, your firmware, your rom, and what kind of widget etc...
I've tested and tested and it's definitely samsung widget (calendar clock).
With it, battery drains in 6-7 hours with normal usage, and in battery check, it shows Android OS more than 50 percent..
I'm on JVK stock rom..
Maybe samsung has not yet finished optimizing their widgets or something..
I guess I'll have to use similar apps for now.
Anyone knows good apps/widgets like that?
Any help appreciated!
Hi!
I have now experience with 3 different ROMs and I've noticed something: The launcher gets some laggy scrolling when there are lots of icons on the homescreen. In contrast with a fresh install even the TW-launcher scrolls smoothly...
I had:
-stock ROM (KKA)
-custom LB1 (GB with stock launcher)
-custom LB1 (GB, ICS-theme, GO EX launcher)
With Midnote 1.5 I even experienced two ROMs: At first Midnote 1.0, stock launcher scrolls smoothly. Then Midnote 1.5 with GO EX launcher, fresh install runs smoothly, after installing lots of programs and shortcuts on the homescreen scrolling is laggy...
Anyone an idea how to solve this problem? RAM is only half full and both storage/program memory is sufficiant...
Move some to another screen. Problem solved!

If you have any transparent widgets on your homescreen, get rid of them. I removed a couple and noticed huge difference on ADW Launcher Ex.
Seriously, we have a 1.4GHz Exynos and the solution is to not use transparent widgets and get rid of icons on homescreens? LOL
Two solutions:
1. Upgrade to ICS. I know the launcher lag very well and have never experienced it on any of the ICS leaks. Obviously there are some small issues with the leak being 1.2Ghz or AOSP not having video recording, SoD, battery drain, etc etc. So...
2. Stay with GB and use [KERNEL][GPL][11 MAR - #9] franco.Kernel Honestly, I have tried most every kernel around here and this one is the only one that has never bogged down with GB. Personally, I think #6 is the best for stability and battery performance (but I haven't tried #9 that just dropped today).
::edit::
Just remembered Franco doesn't leave previous version on his OP. So here is the link to #6

EXACTLY my thinking, thanks!
So the franco kernel helped a little bit but not much. Still noticeably laggy. Funny thing is that switching in the system settings from "some animations" to "full animations" made it also a bit less laggy...

With Gingerbread, yes. That is the only solution for an unrooted user using 3rd party launcher. Touchwiz launcher is properly hardware accelerated but since it doesn't have the ability to resize widgets (and most widgets do not stretch to the 5th column on Galaxy Note), we need to rely on 3rd party launchers.
I am hoping all this will change with ICS.
I switched to TwLauncher for comparison. Now I have:
-5 homescreens
-7 widgets
-62 shortcuts
Scrolling is smooth, sometimes a little stutter on the stopping motion. But by far better than with Go launcher EX...
