Good morning!!!
Recently I have made a backup of my current Kuyadroid ROM with xrecovery. Everything went smooth. Now when I try to restore my backup it says MD5 mismatch...
Any clues?
Thanks in advance...
Im not sure but i think that since kuyadroid installs throw cwm, so you should do your backup throw cwm too....

I will try that. Thanks for the advice.
acctually it dont matter what recovery you use x or cwm they will restore backups properly. listen mount your phone to pc go to sdcard save all other roms to your desktop but leave the backup of the named rom. then go back into recovery and restore and it will work 100% its because you have to many backups on your sdcard at this time
Mayb dont space your filename...
MD5 mismatch is wrong filename try to rename last backup and dont space ok
Ok. I will try to rename file in the evening and try again to restore.
I will inform if i succeeded...

are some people stupid :S DO NOT rename the file you will corrupt it and will make it not flashable. you get MD5 missmatch when you have to many backups on your sdcard NOT wrong file name if that was the case it would state wrong file. please do NOT comment and tell him to do something which will destroy his backup only post if you can contribute and help not **** it up even more!!

I removed all other ROMs and backups from my SDcard. Then I tried to restore once again and again I got Md5 mismatch. To tell you the truth I only once managed to restore my system and it was Stock Eclair. If I remeber correctly I was on Kuyadroid ROM at that time when I rebooted to xRecovery and restored. The backup was made while on Kuyadroid as well.
I would really like to make it work somehow, because what is the point in making backups if i cannot restore them.

Ok. I deleted all the backups in the xRecovery and backup folder. Then I made a new backup of my current GDX v017 ROM and it is actually restoring now. I don't know whether it is going to restore my system later on. But at least I made some progress.
Restore complete.
I will try to restore my ROM in two days and notify whether I succeeded or not.
Thanks for all the help.
Ok. Restoring works now. I still managed to brick my phone with flashing Gingerxperia V8. Now I repaired it with PCC and restored my GDX version.
Thanks again for all the help!

Hey guys im using miracle v4 (cm7)
But now i want to revert to stock rom...
I tried to restored backup of original stock rom via nandroid (cwm) but my ace got stucked on logo
..
Can someone pls give a step by step guide on how to restore it only via cwm (not odin)?
Please
If you used the search button you would have found the answer. In a nutshell, cm7 and stock use different file systems so you cannot use can to revert. Either change file system or use Odin......

Well same problem here. "You can't restore a rfs based partition backup on ext based partition."
You have to flash with odin to go back to Stock.
Or try this, i'm not sure if it'll work:
Download "ext4 manager" app by cf-root team> then convert filesystem to rfs> Restore backup after that.
Hope it'll work
1. Flash original firmware with Odin.
2. Install CWM recovery.
3. Restore original firmware backup.
It's the easiest way and it worked for me.

I have installed cwm on my friends phone (galaxy mini) via odin. When i booted into recovery it said he couldn't mount /cache/recovery. So i installed root explorer on his phone and i saw there are no files in that folder! In my phone there is a file... so i was wondering if someone has installed cwm (i believe it was 5.2.7) and knows how to solve this. Maybe i could try using this file of someone else with same recovery.
Long story short: does anybody know a solution or does anybody wants to upload this file?
Sorry for bad english if i made any mistakes

simple way is to download file and usb to phone, the zip file. Do Not unzip it.

Dont use CWM on stock if u dont want to flash rom

Well... first i had tried installed cwm using a normal .zip file. Same problem. Then was when i actually installed via odin. After that i gave up and asked for help here. So i think it isnt the fould of the recovery. So could anyone upload the file in the next location, just to try : /cache/recovery
So i can put the file inside this folder and maybe it will work again.

Dont use custom recovery on stock, if you want install custom rom, just wipe data/cache and it will mount system, data

don't worry error in mounting cache is normal, you can use it safely for installing and wiping
However also in the my stock recovery give a error in the cache partition but to me give the error of unmounting, says unmount(/cache); attempt 1 unknow error=0 rc=0, and later i must and will inform about this error.

Just copy them to efs folder and you will be all set...
1. Delete your efs folder with root explorer
2. Reboot
3. Copy imei folder and nv_data.bin to /efs. Override if necessary.
4. Delete nv_data.bin.md5
5. Reboot
6. Profit

Omg people to avoid losing your imei first from GB (if you're coming from it) flash CM9 from their site, and THEN flash any jellybean ROM! No problems will appear there.

Thanks for your help guys, imei is back and jelly bean working fine now
I have red and tried all the way to go back to my old imei after having formatted, during a rom upgrade, the efs folder.
I have been able to get back to a fake IMEI, and now i'm getting crazy how to restore the original.
I red somewhere this method:
...first root your device then you get super user and terminal emulator app
open terminal emulator than type su get super user athority then press enter enter
for example your imei like 123456789012345 will be write this code
echo 'AT+EGMR=1,7,"123456789012345"' >/dev/pttycmd1 and enter
but don't work or i'm not been able to do it.
Have you never used this way? if yes on which version of android, I did no tried on eclai because i did non find where to donwload.
someone can help me.

I will paste the solution from the link down below:
Problem:- lost my IMEI or changed on upgrading
Solution:
1) Download Root Explorer from Play Store and use it to
2) Search you internal SD card for sdcard/backup/efs
3) Copy nv_data.bin, nv_data.bin.md5 and nv.log paste them into /efs in your Phone memory
4) Reboot to get back your original IMEI
or
you can start from the beginning.. ODIN back to stock samsung rom, root, (backup your efs folder to your computer just in case), and flash your custom rom.
This should fix your problem as I went through it myself not that long ago. Thought I had broken my phone when it happened :silly:
That's the problem I have not a backup of efs folder. I just have the imei from the label under the battery.
After this lessons I just made a efs bck of my s2.

ummm :
Following remedies available for those who DO NOT have a Backup,
Download EFS Folders for modification and restoration Collections for Androids
These methods had worked for some but not for others.
1) Flash a stable stock ROM preferably an earliest version
i9000 use JVU without repartition or JVZ
M110S use Eclair DG 23
2) In recovery mode , wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition. Then reboot
3) Delete efs folder (by using root explorer), clear EFS (using Odin) and flashing a new ROM.
4) Replacing keystr file ( If missing) in efs > imei folder
5) For Unknown Baseband just install KIES and then connect Phone to it...
and now Baseband will be correctly detected

yes, I did follow any suggestion I could find, the best result I could reach is to have a fake imei.
One think I didn't yet try to go cm9 and than to cm10 because the suggestion: "you can start from the beginning.. go back to GB 2.36 (use a JVU ROM + Root, upgrade to ICS CM 9 and than to CM10" doesn't works because the JVU has a 3e recovery version now I have to go back to some 2e recovery version and I'll try.
In any case thanks a lot, I'll let you know.
mate just flash cm9 on gb and then jellybean... you wont face any issues ever...

thanks.
My Device: SGS I9000 16gb
OS: Android
Chipset: Hummingbird 1~1.4 GHz Cortex-A8 PowerVR
Jelly Bean ROM: Slim Bean[4.1.1] v2.2 kernel: Semaphore
Modem: XXJVU

Allways fake imei ending with 0000.
I have same problem. Reflashed hundred times to stock ROM (JVU) but still no luck to get my IMEI back.
Help please.
Are you sure you checked the re-partition option when you flashed JVU? If not, do you know which original firmware you came from? If so trying flashing that instead.
