LED Lights on X8 - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How many do we have? At first I thought just 1 inside earpiece, but then I watched xperia demo video and it lights on the light sensor :O is there any way to activate it in custom roms?

you mean is the light not always on ?
I am yet to find my camera light on an SGS.

Camera LED flash is way too powerful, ruins every low light shot!

Anyone else?
totally agree with you!!
Same here...it seems like when i take pictures inside with a bright light in the back ground the light white washes the pictures. Its like its super sensitive to bright light. Forget using the flash...

Photos under fluorescent tube lights

Hey all!
I was wondering if anyone else has this issue. The problem only happens when I take photos in a room that has fluorescent tube lights. I have attached a photo with the issue.
The photo basically has horizontal lines which don't look very attractive

Swift reply! Thanks
I'll try the scene settings next time and see what happens :good:
Set the white balancing setting in the camera to fluorescent instead of auto.

It appears that the frequency in which the fluro flickers is the same as which you phone is sensitive to. Does it show this on the screen while you are composing the shot? If possible to get around it, the most likely options would be to speed up or slow down the shutter speed, you will get this by manually changing the camera modes.
It all depends how the florescent light is being powered. If you use a digital ballast, you won't get the lines.

Totally kill the LED for good?

As the title suggests, can you totally kill the LED notification light? I mean stop it working for good.

Why would you even do something drastic like that? :what:

I could disable it on my x10 mini pro by night for example. But it was cm feature. Possibly linked to kernel also (cm was disabling module controlling led. If I remember well).
It is useful for example by night. When the led try to make you remember "hello, I am charged, I will put this green light in your face for you to know it"
Xperia z led power is still correct, x10 was my morning sun.

Simple... I don't like it
I can't stand the stupid thing being lit at night like 'hey your fully charged, now I'm going to dazzle you till you wake up'. I don't like the fact it doesn't show colours properly since the last update and more than anything else, it looks ugly as hell when it's lit. I initially liked it S my BlackBerry had one, but the BB had the far superior light control and brightness, the colour was more defined too.

Ride it like you downhill it.

[Q] No LED while charging etc

My LED hardly worked after I flashed the first custom Rom. Now the light is so less visible I think it's gone. I checked it and there is no dust in it. Is there a way to reset the light or any other ideas?
