Hy every 1, when i open LG Suport Tool it says:
A new version of phone software was released.
You must update the phone.
So, i hit Start, and at 40% (check the phone) and it says: Your phone is up to date...
I have the official GB v20e Romania....
It's the known fake update..

Yes you'll lost all your data and the root.. GB is a bit harder to root than froyo but there are some guides in the dev forum

No, you shouldn’t loose your data that way – but you would loose root when using the original LG-ROM.
But there is a pre-rooted version around…
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1327949
But when you already rooted your phone, maybe you want to update to one of the newer custom roms including leaked stuff from the newest stock roms v20m/o etc. like i.e.
Guestes Golden Hybrid Rom V2.2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1405012
…or…
Django Manouche 0.5
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410662
But as always – backup first using i.e. MyPhoneExplorer for SMS, contacts, calendar and Titanium Backup for you apps…
So he won't loose apps but after an upgrade like this it's recommended a wipe data factory so data will be lost anyway
Inviato dal mio LG-P990 usando Tapatalk
Hello!
The question was “Will my apps be erased…”
He wouldn't loose data updating the linked way...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1327929
A full wipe isn’t necessary – only wiping /cache and dalvik-cache is advisable – and doesn’t hurt. No need to format /data here…
...and yes, he should do a full wipe using the suggested custom roms.
But this is a different option/argument and if he reads the intros he should realize that…
And as always make a backup before you update your rom anyway.

Hi,
This is my first time flashing a custom rom onto my Optimus 2X. I have decided on the latest Miui as it seems to be fast, stable and looks awesome.
I was hoping some lovely people could give me some advice to help my first flash go well.
I have created a backup through CWR of my current stock ROM. I have also backed up all my apps through titanium backup.
I was wondering what the best baseband and RIL is best suited to the Miui ROMs? And also do I need to covert to ext4 or will be ROM do this for me?
Once iv done this is there anything else I should do to prepare my phone for Miui?
Thank you for any advice you can give me!!
Sedge.
I usually flash a stock Rom via smarflash in order to have a cleaner phone. You also have to calibrate your battery after changing Rom, trough some specific apps that you can find easly gratis on the market. For the bb i have never had problems on MIUI, they all worked for me.

I'm on the latest MIUI too on BB725. Works fine here. I'm thinking MIUI supports ext3 and ext4 partitions and don't make changes to what you already have. I've been jumping through roms and don't see anything that says MIUI is converting my partitions.
MIUI's base is cm7 so you might want to consider running the latest cm7 stable (or nightly if you feel adventurous) for o2x.
I'm still a bit biased on stock roms since they're release from the vendors so they'd likely get all the features you want due to closed-sourced 3rd party drivers. There are a lot of good roms based on stock souce here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1002. Consider giving em a spin.
If you're just after the MIUI look, check these launchers:

I have installed CM 7.1 and it all seems fine apart from my battery icon is saying i have a almost full battery when i know when i started the flash it was around 30%.
Shall I let the battery run all the way down and then charge to full and then re calibrate my battery. Will this solve my problem?
thanks James

I'm using Optimus X2 on CM9 now and I want to revert back to stock.
Problems I faced are unable to use front camera, camcorder and the camera freezing after a few uses and I have to restart the phone.
The build is great, but I just NEED the camcorder and front camera function. Call me stupid for not reading before upgrading (got my bro to upgrade for me on impulse) and now we can't revert to stock because the phone is not connecting to computer at all.
The phone can be connected by USB as a Portable Media drive but cannot be detected when drivers are used.
This is driving me to wits end ): Even my brother couldn't get it to go back to stock after trying for an hour.. I just want to go back to Gingerbread 2.3.4 (came with the phone)
I need help guys. Desperate.
Thank you all so much in advanced.
Oh to add on, any solution that requires me to connect to the computer now doesn't work at all. Because the phone cannot be detected by drivers. Gah.
It's not that CM9 isn't good. I just really need the camcorder function.
):
You have clockwork mod installed I assume? (Not sure if you can even install cm9 without it but thought I'd check )
Just go to the development section and find a stock ROM, and flash it using CM7. If your phone isn't detected in storage mode then transfer it over Wifi, software data cable is good for FTP, Airdroid has a pretty GUI and super easy to use.

if you want to go completely to stock, you can use NV flash.
it contains stock FROYO Rom and recovery, you can flash a gingerbread ROM afterwards.
find it in my dropbox :

Hi,
I would to know which are the difference between the old GB and the new ICS partition layout.
Which benefits can I have to use one or the other?
Fausto.
Inviato dal mio Nexus 7 con Tapatalk 2
Basically the system partition size, where GB is smaller than ICS.
Some people thinks that the call bug happens because of the old bootloader, I'm not very sure of this since I had this bug with the official v30A and with CM10 on ICS unlocked bootloader.
ps: wrong forum section
And if I have a small system partition size which problems can create?
Which kind of data reside in system folder?
I installed v30b stock ICS ROM on a GB partition layout, I did the right thing or I have to switch to the new ics layout?
The layout impacts even the cache?

I dont think its possible to install V30b on GB partition system unless you installed Harsh/tonyp Rom.
Any other V28/30 rom you installed made a new partition on your phone.
Moved to q&a
OK, so every time I install a new ROM with smart flash the partitions are recreated?
Inviato dal mio Galaxy Nexus con Tapatalk 2
Android consists of a ROM (operating system+kernel) and middleware (baseband, ril, and so on).
They are put in different partitions because of "modularity concept" and because a ROM takes up much more space than a kernel or a baseband.
The old GB partition layout has the smaller system partition because the total required space from the old android <2.3 was smaller than >4.0, in wich there were added new applications, rewritten code and much more.
Anyway yes, smartflash flashes (excuse the pun) all the partitions from binary data.
When you use smartflash you are erasing and rewriting the whole memory, baseband ones included.

Not necessarily... Unlike KDZ flashing, SmartFlash method uses two seperate files: .bin (ROM) and .fls (BB). So, you can flash the ROM without baseband, and vice versa.
Hello everyone.
I want to install IZS and I'm not sure if I'm correct, because as you can see English is not my native language.
I have a very old CM build (android 4.1.2 - 10-20121023-nightly-p970) with working CWM (I tried to reboot to recovery and it was successful), kernel 3.0.8-CM, baseband lgp970at-00-V10e-EEU.
If I want to install IZS, I just need to: download zips, access CWM, do wipe data / factory reset, install zips and patched v20 u-boot and everything will be okay? I don't know anything about V30 baseband and locked bootloader (I didn't follow news about p970 development since December 2012), I need working GPS this week, so I don't want to break anything.
Thank you in advance!

I'm guessing you are talking avout CRT Off animation. Use IZS V2. AFAIK it has Xposed framework. You can activate it with that... But i haven't tried it yet so i can not say it for sure. But if you are going to install IZS, intall V2.
Hi. I unlocked my bootloader. I had the RomAur 6.0 and everything was fine.
Yesterday i tried to install the slimkat, but camera did not work. FC, and no focus. So i tried another kernel (doom, philz, and pimped) but none of theme fixed the camera problem.
Then i installed criskelo, romaur 6.2 and restored my nandroid backup that i made before all off this. But the camera still doesn't work.
No focus, and no take shots. The camera hangs ebery time i try to make a photo.
Someone sayd i have to go back to 534, relock my bootloader, try if camera works again, and then reunlock the bootloader.
So is this the price i have to pay if i want my bootloader unlocked?
I never had this problems with samsung.
Clear data in all camera apps in the settings
Nothing changed. If you meaned to delete in the app settings menu, to delete all the data.
settings/apps/all
Goto ALL of the camera apps and click on clear data
there are several camera apps you will need to do it for
I made all of them. But nothing changed. (or are there sys apps?)
I searched all the apps, and cancelled the data off all apps having somthing like camera. But nothing changed.
Up plase help.

So:
I made this: i reblocked the BL with the TA-Backup.
I flashed a ftf of 680. I made a boot, camera was working.
I reopened the BL and flashed a Stock kernel with cwm, rebooted, and camera was still going.
So i decided to restore my nandroid backup that i made two days ago. But now the camera is not working again.
So what could be the problem? Can it be a kernel problem?
Please help.
I have exact the same problem on 4.4 kit kat Criskelo Rom with DoomKernel v11, tried so many things i dont know how to fix that without going back to stock 4.4 or even to 4.3 ?! :c
Its good knowing not to be alone with this problem.
Now i am on romaur 6.2 and all is fine.
I tried slim kat with pimped kernel but su was not able to install.

right? then you restored a backup- and it went broke again.
but the backup was not on stock kernel and others right?
So maybe if i stay on stock and flash a rom directly from 680. it will be working?
& i think all the steps with locking-relocking bl are not necessary (& i hope so- didn`t make a ta-backup :/ )
Will be trying that out tonight- will report back
