[Q] Requesting to Confirm Password after Factory Reset - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I did a Factory Reset twice when my Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 asked me to Confirm Password which is strange to me. I never created a password with it before. Please help.

Do you have CWM installed? Then you can do the factory reset from there and I'm pretty sure it won't ask you for a password.

If you bought the phone, ask for help to Samsung.
Password exist to protect the phone and it's owner.
Developer community are ask too often for help by people with bad intention, sorry if it's legit.

The password that I had to put in was my lock screen's password. Try creating a lock screen password and using that for the password for factory reset.

In normal case it shud not be happen after factory reset.
But if Phone locked with remote control / any antitheft application installed in secure way this cud be happen.
I dont feel comfortable to advise further before legitimation of Owner.(OP have posted 2 times on XDA n both for same Q)
Just DO one Thing, Change your SIM card

Try
5444 or 0000 or 1234

Without losing info? ... I think you could use adb pull command from stock recovery to pull the files you need from your phone to your pc, and then wipe data to remove the pass lock.

I need the phonebook from the phone and the messages.
I don't know the firmware from the phone but I think it's 2.3.6
Oooo damn, contacts? I dunno where the contacts are stored in the phone really, but I'll try to find out and get back to you.

Wait a sec... are you rooted?
Let me be a little more clear: thee phone I received it with locked pattern unlock (is asking for google account to unlock it) and I need the dat from the phone like is contacts messages etc; the phone I think it's with 2.3.6 android version and surelly is not root-ed.
The phone connects to the pc only in MTP mode.

So the phone isn't rooted...
If you just received the phone, how come you got your contacts in there in the first place... Anyway, you can try to use the adb command
adb pull /data/data/com.android.providers.contacts/databases/contacts2.db ./
with the ./ in the end
Send me a PM in our language with your problem. Maybe I understand better what are you talking about.
In the phone is not my phonebook; I just need to save the informations from that phone wich has a blocked pattern and ask for google account to unlock it.

There has been something around here about getting past the lockscreen, but it is only possible on Jelly Bean. The topic has to be here somewhere!

Thanks for all help:
I wrote stock kernell, root files via sd card and reset pattern with srsroot tool.
I've succesfully removed the pattern without losing the data from the phone.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Ace - Lock Pattern

Hello people..I got an issue with a friend's galaxy ace..As you can understand i have a problem with the pattern lock..
His young cousin blocked it and since then i can't unlock it cause i am not sure about the email or the password , because my friend had messed things up a bit with this..He doesn't remember neither the mail nor the pass.
So..I tried to hard reset the phone and then i realised that the volume down key doesn't work at all...so i am not able to choose factory reset when i launch the phone..
Is there any other way to reset the phone to factory settings without sending it to customer service..?
p.s. i tried to reset it from emergency calls but it didn't work.

Yes it's possible
You can use 2 options (Flashing a fresh stock via Odin it's another possibility...but it's too hardcore XD):
1. As Blackbox421 said you...doing a data/factory reset via recovery >>>>>>>>>> You'll lose ALL you current data (apps, sms...)
2. Using a simple script that I created yesterday to delete lock patern >>>>>>>>>>> You won't lose NOTHING, won't need to do data/factory reset
I didn't try it with stock recovery, but it works with Root+CWM
Here it's my script....it's a flashable zip as always

[Q] Forgot my pin.

I forgot my phone pin .My phone is rooted and I want to hard reset my phone to get access. Can anyone help? OR Do I have to visit a care center. Is there a problem to flash or hard reset a rooted phone. Please help
Do you have a custom recovery? if so then this might help : " http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2225695 "
My friend followed the above method but he had a Samsung and he forgot his pattern.I'm pretty sure that it might work for you too as well.Still not too sure though.I'll appreciate it if someone could confirm this.
Do this at your own risk.
Also, I don't think you need to consider service centers.
Good luck.

If you have a custom recovery you can flash my script http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43500062
However it might not work

If you forgot your pin used on lockscreen then you can also reset your password by signing in using the id used in PlayStore.(If you have signed in).
You can get that option near Emergency Calls after you enter wrong password more than 5-6 times.

Need either a new WORKING G900A 5.0 lollipop or even 4.4.2 ROM for phone. More within

So, I had reformatted my phone via recovery mode. I did this not knowing samsung would force me to put in my samsung account info when turned on for the first time... I had actually sold it to a friend, thinking he would just sign in through his account. This caused an issue and it needed the original samsung account of the previous owner (which is me). I put in my information and it just says "processing failed". I had changed my password, made sure it was the correct information and it all was but it never worked and came up with the same error.
So what I am looking for now is a completely fresh install of a either lollipop for the, specific "g900aucu3boc4" version of the S5. Anything to bypass that ridiculous error and literally start fresh, like a brand new phone would. I will even accept 4.4.2 if available. Anything to help me, because I have sold this to my mate and he has STILL not got the phone after about 3 weeks... I really hope you guys can help, will mean a lot!
Thank you all! :good:
