Why does it take so long for the Bionic to boot up? Is there a fast boot from full power down?
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk
As far as I understand it, it had yo do with the fact that android is.running in a virtual machine. So the phone boots the first part then it creates the vm. There is more.specific info on Google for it.

Thank you much Willbur. Will google it for more info.

You can actually use the capacitive menu key on your Droid 3 as if it was a CTRL key. I use it all the time to copy and paste on T-Mobile G2 and now my Droid 3.
Nobody ever mentions and I thought I should make this more known to people.
In a previous thread, someone was complaining about not having a hardware c&p. Great find!

Interesting, how would you do this on a cell phone? Is it used when entering text in messages? Thanks.
What is copy? CTRL+V is paste, but CTRL+C does not seem to copy. Also CTRL+A only highlights momentarily, what am I missing?
crtl c copies just fine. I use shift and then the arrow keys to select text just like on a real keyboard.
I already knew about this since...I started using the OG Droid. I just assumed it served the same function on the Droid 3, and it does! Very handy when I need to search a web page. Menu+f FTW.
Thanks for sharing though.

You can do menu+a+c - bit tricky, but works.

It would take some getting used to but definitely a cool easter egg. Since this is my first android phone I would have had no way of knowing. Unless it's in the manual but I never read those lol
This works on Droid 2 Global too! Thank you very much, this makes my life so much easier!

I'm glad you guys found this useful. The Droid keyboard makes it worthwhile especially with the shift and arrow keys. I just wish the question mark wasn't an alt key.

Yeah the keyboard as a whole was created more for web browsing/emails vs. regular text and messaging. i've never had the @ button as its own button, but i suppose i'll get used to it. plus it makes for fast tweeting too
You have just made me more eficient
Very nice. Shift-arrows to highlight then menu c,x to cut and copy munu-v to paste etc. Tested with my signature.

Ok im missing something! The menu button below the screen?
Edit: I see if I use shift then run my finger over what I want to copy but Im still confused on menu x/v/c

It's the icon with the 4 squares at the bottom left corner (in portrait mode) of the phone. Press that plus the c or v key on the keyboard simultaneously.
This is the best damned thing ever - I've been wanting this functionality ever since I first used a smartphone, and here it is.
Seems Seems Seems Seems to work on my Evo Shift
Edit: running latest CM nightly

Put up a site with all my stuff. Ported a ton of boot animations over that will display properly on the droid 3 & the bionic. Still working on some of the site but dl links are up and running. Check it out here:

I can fix it pretty easily in photoshop.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium
Okay good to go I went the hard way and did the hex editing version of fixing it but that is a bit of a pain in the ass.
***Update***
Many more boot logos to choose from! Check out op for download links.

The screen resolution is the same (physically the Bionic is larger) so any Bionic boot logos should work fine on the Droid 3.

[CM7] on Droid Bionic with dual boot!
This is an amazing hack by Hashcode! He built a hack to load CM7 on the Droid 3 that will also work on the Droid Bionic! I tested it on the Droid Bionic today and it worked! (ya I am crazy)
Now you need to note that this is in the begining stages, but with us Devs teaming up, this can be great!
Thanks to Hashcode and of course Cyanogenmod team!
Hashcode Github: https://github.com/Hashcode
Details can be found here:

Also thanks to Droidtheroy for his rom that was featured in the begining of this video! =)
is it available or is there something wrong with it that no one is jumping on it

Anyone try this yet? Dont have the time to try my self at the moment...
I am under the impression it is the one that's hacked to work on any ICS device, so no go for me.
Well I thought this works for gingerbread no go either for me

I got it to load ( pushed it to /system/app ) but it won't load any web pages, just gives me a blank screen.
Sent from my Bionic using Tapatalk 2
I don't understand what's 'hacked' about this
There is no way for Chrome to work on our device. No ICS kernel = no hardware acceleration.
I just need a way to run multiple imobster accts on my droid. Thats it. Iphone has udidfaker. What can i do on my droid?
