As with any device that has a stylus, after regular use, the fit if the stylus in the stylus bay starts to get loose. On some HTC devices they magnetised the stylus so it couldn't fall out. My S-Pen doesn't feel quite as sung as it used to so does anyone have any suggestions to stop it getting any more loose. I don't want to lose it and have to but a new one.
Many thanks

Out of curiosity, when this happens, we're entirely sure that it's the stylus getting thinner and not the hole getting bigger, right? Because I'm sort of getting the same thing for my S Pen and I got a bit scared upon reading this. I don't mind having to buy a different or alternative or replacement stylus in the future, but if the hole for the S Pen gets worn out, it's a different story.
I've ordered a replacement S-Pen with the adaptor. When that turns up I'll post and let you know if that feels any different in the S-Pen slot. Ideally though as per previous reply on here, I'd want to use the replacement with the adaptor all the time so as not to need removing the stock stylus as often.

Using black vinyl electrical tape, wrap about one or two winds around the top of the s-pen. Restores a nice snug fit again. Problem solved!

What does the adaptor look like? I think I want to get one of those too, for the same reasons as you.
The S-Pen adapter arrived today. Very nice indeed. Had a but of weight to it so feels nice and solidand well made. Much easier using the Burton on the side of the pen as it's larger and more prominent.
I did test the replacement pen that came with the adapter and it feels just as loose in the slot. Thankfully it's still snug enough so the pen will not fall out but it's noticeably less snug than when i first got the Note.
I highly recommend the adapter for anyone who uses the s-pen on a regular basis.
I also have the SZLF silver metal bumper which is also a very nice addition. Reduces the signal at times but it's not too bad.
Next accessory to buy, the Mugen extended battery.....

S-Pen holder kit
I also have the S-Pen holder kit. I am impressed in that I have now found the screen to be significantly more accurate and more responsive. It's a joy to use the pen as a stylus. Not too bad looking, either. It really feels like a hipstery-thing-to-take-notes-with. More so, I don't have to take out the stylus each time.
All in all, I see it as a very good investment and Amazon.de has it at a very nice price. In my opinion, a highly recommended accessory.

hello my fellow tab geeks.
a few weeks back, i purchased the official samsung galaxy capacitive stylus but really am not very impressed with it and just wanted to see if others feel the same way.
i've tried several stylus before for my prev iPad and none of them moved very smoothly across the surface due to the requirements of a capacitive screen, etc.
anywho, from using it for a few days; it seemed to stick more to the screen than move smoothly and in turn made any fast note taking impossible. i could never duplicate the accuracy of using a pen on paper.
are all capacitive stylus basically plagued with this problem?
now i remember the advantages of resistive screens. if only someone would finally make both on their tablets.. hmmm...
any feedback would be great! thanks!
I think it's one of the downsides of capacitive screens. I bought a boxwave stylus and it's got issues even though it had the best reviews. You need a lot of surface area contact to make a capacitive screen work.

thanks for your input kind of what i thought.
seamonkey420 what stylus are you talking about? please give me a link.
I bought the BoxWave stylus too and quite like it. It does require some pressure to get enough contact to work correctly but as the end is so soft it's not a strain. Once I got used to it I prefer the stylus over using my finger for most tasks and it has the added advantage that the screen remains clean. Obviously you need to revert for fingers for pinch-zoom and any other multitouch gesture though.

I bought the same stylus with the intent of using it for a drawing app I have on the Tab. I, too, was disappointed. It takes quite a bit of pressure to get a solid line, otherwise it would skip here and there along the line. It worked ok for just moving through screens or typing, but for doing any kind of useful sketching or drawing it was pretty much useless.
Maplins do one that has a soft tip - but it's no substitute for a finger....
bought these over at ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/3pcs-Stylus-Tou...196333?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item4cf4a8796d
not bad and i do need to put some pressure on it but since they have a soft point im not concerned
Losing your capacity
I also noticed that if you hold the stylus anywhere but in contact with the metal band, it doesn't track at all. Sometimes you want to hold it further back.

Targus stylus
I got the targus stylus and it works on the iPad and galaxy s but struggles with the galaxy tab. I'm a bit disappointed. Must be a different kind of capacitive screen. Writing with it on the iPad is like writing on paper. Very smooth and quick to get used to.
Anyone had any better luck with styli on the g tab?

Got any old HDD bags laying around?
If you wrap a cut off of it around the end of a pen you have a cheap stylus and it works brilliantly on my legend
It's also a very smooth plastic so I haven't had it bog down on me at all.
Dagi stylus
I ordered a Dagi stylus after seeing a demo on a Galaxy Tab that made it look smooth. There's a few different models, so I'm hoping they have catered to the slightly different capacitive screen on the Galaxy to that of other devices.
If it was a faked video I have a stylus for my iPad.
trust me .. your fingers are working better . stylus are crap just to sell and get some profit from it thats all ..
and if you wanna a fast smoothy screen flash new rom

It claims to be case comparable by removing an insert
And at $32 bucks it's not a bad buy but it would be nice to find it cheeper. Anyway I was wondering if anyone had one and if it's any good?

it reminds me of those generic ipod docks, with the insert it fits snug but when you remove the insert depending on how thick your case is it wobbles
i'd recommend save your money and wait for the official dock that uses the pogo pins

I just ordered one. It should arrive in two days. In general I find Mobile Fun quite trustworthy. They seem to test all the stuff they resell so that they know its decent quality.
I'll let you know how the cradle works.
I have one on order from 4u-mobi that shipped Monday. I'll let you know when I get it. I already started a thread about this as well, called Kidigi dock for Nexus 7.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849616&highlight=kidigi
Ok it arrived and my N7 is in it.
As Testaccount says above, it fits very well with the insert in place and no case. Without the insert it's a little loose, probably because with my case is just a gel back cover. Putting a couple of sheets of paper in behind the Nexus shows that the dock would be a good tight fit if the case was about 1 mm thicker so if you are thinking of a slightly bigger case, one of the wrap around maybe, the dock should work well.
Even without the paper it isn't so loose that it will fall out or anything. I just spent a hour prodding the screen to turn pages in Kindle and it showed no sign of falling. All in all I'm pretty happy with it. I don't see how they could have made it substantially better without mandating what case you can use with it.

Wow, that was quick. The one I ordered from China is going to take like 2 weeks to get to me in the US. I'm glad to hear you like it.
Great that is what I was hoping. What about how when it slides in is the fit on the usb connector good? I know even my stock usb cable is a tight fit that's why I ask. And thanks a lot for your input.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1389517282&pf_rd_i=507846
It's not the cheapest stylus available, but it uses a mesh for the tip instead of rubber and that makes it glide really smoothly along the screen. Plus I liked that it was pen-sized and had multiple colors to choose from. There are better styluses out there, but they tend to cost a lot more. I thought this was a good middle of the road option. So far it's held up well, and I got it right after the first batches of Nexus 7's started to ship and use it every day.

I'm using the Boxwave stylus as well. It feels like the tip is softer than a traditional, cheap capacitive stylus. I hardly use a stylus because of the lack of precision.
I have thought about finding a way to "firm" up the stylus tip, but I'm concerned about the input detection "skipping" with a smaller contact area.

I was really looking into the Maglus, however, my main question was if the magnetization worked on the Nexus7. I would assume it doesn't. That was a concern for me before ordering it.

The magnet on the stylus is very strong but there's nowhee on the nexus for it to attach, luckily my case has a metal closure that the styus clamps onto perfectly.

The tip of mine started out pretty firm but has softened over time (after playing a ton of beat-the-bajeesus out of the screen tapping games.) It doesn't really affect how I use it though, I can still press buttons without having to tap with a lot of pressure or anything like that. If you're looking for a smaller contact area than the BoxWave probably definitely isn't the best. I don't know of any cheap small contact styluses though, only the expensive Jot line. I think the Wacom Bamboo had a smaller tip and wasn't crazy expensive, but I've never used it so I don't know how good it is. Hopefully better than the BoxWave since it costs more.

Any problems with charging?
I have a similar case and you have to take it off in order to charge as the bottom bit extends the length of the phone and the micro USB connector can't form a secure connection.

Nope no problem here. I did watch somebody do a video review of a similar case and his cut outs didn't look as precise as this one so maybe you have a similar case to his but this one gives me no problems at all.

You can use finger nail clippers to make the hole bigger if you need to (I've done this before with other TPU cases). This case looks nice but I need more protection on the corners in case my phone gets dropped.

Is it used only for preventing oily markings on the screen?
Thanks for all input on this.

I just got the HD+ so can't give a thorough critique. I'm using two different styluses I got free from different vendors on eBay. I'm not to fond of using my fingers on the HD+ screen, the glass feels weird and gets messy quick. The styluses allow me to keep the screen clean and seem to get a better response than my fingers.
I just installed the Sketchbook Pro app for tablets. I'll add more after I play some.
I should also mention that I have a Note II and use the stylus for that all the time so I'm kinda partial to using one.
Hope this was helpful.
PS: I got the green stylus when I ordered a cover for my HD+ on eBay. The cover has a holder for it, very nice. Let me know if you want the vendor info.
