Cant post yet in the Dev section, so this will have to do.
It seems there is still an issue with Abyss 3 and forcing launcher into memory.
Changelog of Abyss 3 says its OK, however, same as previous. First reboot OK, subsequent reboot and all you get is bootloops
Seems there is still an issue? Can someone post in the dev section of Abyss and Checkrom so people avoid until resolved....
Unless someone else has a different experience...
I have no problem with this kernel... no boot loops....
Have you tried to clear the cache and dalvik ?
@aatjitra
Are you running Checkrom? and tried the force launcher into memory Mod.
No problem with the kernel per se, only with the mod and the kernel together.
as above, changelog on the Kernel for V3 says its compatible with force launcher into memory, but it results in a bootloop when applied.
Same for me here. Was in pre 3.0 Abyss, turned on checkrom force launcher ok. But when i flash final 3.0 Abyss, goes into boot loop. How can I undo force launcher now?

Ok, for those who turned on force launcher and boot loops after flashing with Abyss, i found a solution. Go into recovery and flash the forcelauncher.zip which should have been downloaded earlier. It should be in internal sd\download\checkrom_revo. Whew, thought i had to reflash checkrom 3 wipe!

I flashed Alfs v06 kernel and i was looking forward to flashing FroyoPro rom because i heard its great for games. So i flashed alfs kernel and then the rom and instaled the alfs add-on and froyo fix for alfs kernel, but when I restarted it,it got stuck on FXP logo, so i did it again but now i wiped everything and it booted up but realy slowly it took about 4-5 min. to get to the "touch the android to start" part. And it was lagy all the way throuh settup. Then I flashed Ati froyo and it worked great, but i wanted the FroyoPro so i tried to flash it again and it got stuck again.
Can somebody help me....What to do?
Well setup is always laggy i would says on all roms...you need to reboot your phone after you install new rom so it can settle on your phone.....Try to go recovery and do full wipe, reboot your phone or reinstall rom again...Also it may be caused by version of CWM, maybe first you installed FP you have differnet version and second after you install atifroyo it change cwm on his version.....maybe...the same thing happend to me too...so iv just reinstalled cwm via x8toolbox

Have you solved it?
Problem solved. Instaled all the fixes and wiped everything and its runing realy smoth now. Thanks man
No problem...
Would be grateful if someone could shed some light on this for me.
My situation is this:
1. I download a new ROM, or an updated version that I would like to try out.
2. I reboot in to recovery (CWM based recovery v5.0.2.7) and create a back-up.
3. I install new ROM, wiping where necessary, or keeping my data if an updated ROM dictates that I can.
4. The new install goes well, boots fine, and no problems etc....
5. I then decide, id like to go back to what I had before...
6. I reboot to recovery, select to restore, and choose my back-up that I had just made
7. Recovery fails stating "Error while restoring /system!
I then find myself not being able to reinstall my ROM, load any back-ups or anything, and my only way out is to go to download mode, and flash a ROM through odin.
What gives? and where am I going wrong?

Is you Note running an ICS Rom now? What you are describing sounds very much what happens when you want to do a restore from our wonky ICS CWMR.
If yes, this is the way to get your restore to work:

if that recovery is better than CWMR, why dont we all use that?
I'm not sure, but I might have read on some issues with going from GB to ICS and then recovering back to GB.
Was that your scenario?

Because CWMR always comes together with a specific kernel (CF--Root has standard CWMR, AbyssNote has Redpill Recovery etc.).
The only two ICS kernels we have ATM are CF-Root ones, hence the standard CWMR in all ICS Roms.

This little guide posted in the link above is the only way for you to successfully revert from ICS to GB. Every other scenario is hit-and-miss (more miss than hit, though).

Hmmmm ,and I was just wondering why every ICS revert to GB was done with abyssnote 3.9 kernel?
what I understood from your post above is that CWM recovery not compatible with ICS? And if so then is abyssnote the only kernel that contains red pill recovery?
one learns new things every day , that's the beauty of life.
+1
EDIT: what about mobile ODIN?
Can't we just flash a stock rooted GB ROM using it ,and afterwards boot to recovery and flash a nandroid restore
Will that work?
I'm having the same issue;
Some days ago I tried CM10 and Paranoid CM10, could flash them both with succes.
I had like 20 back up on my sd and wanted to revert back to Paranoid CM9 0.5.
While I was trying to restore I got the same error like in the OP.
Not one of all my back ups was usable to revert back.
So I searched and read a bit overhere and saw it necessary to use the approriate kernel to revert back.
If I understood right, when being on CM10 you first had to flash a CM9 kernel to restore a CM9 ROM.
I tried this but I never succeeded, no big harm anyway. I did a clean install and moved on.
Till today when I made a back up from my CM9 Paranoid CM9 0.5 ROM, with stock kernel.
The back up went fine and I flashed 0.4, I played a bit with 0.4, went back to recovery and tried to restore my latest back up, which again, did not succeed, same error like in OP.
With the first problem I understand there was issue between CM9 and CM10, but the second time I don't. I had a CM9 back up, flashed a CM9 ROM and tried to restore a CM9 ROM;
Does anyone know what could cause this problem ? Am I doing something wrong ?
Thanks in advance.
Hey guys let me start and say that I've already read other threads with people with the same problem...
This started ( the boot loop problem) when I accidentally set the CPU Settings of the phone way too high...And the phone got stuck at the Samsung logo.
So I read some tutorials and used ODIN to install a Stock Rom of the Galaxy Ace, BUT it still gets stuck on the samsung logo forever.
I already tried to wipe data/cache a tonload of times...
I also wanna say that i read in a topic that this issue has got to do with data.rfs...
Any help is greatly appreciated
Ok, here is how to fix it if you did it with SetCPU.
Go in Recovery and flash this as update.zip
http://www.setcpu.com/setcpu_safemode_toggle.zip
Hey, thanks for the quick answer.
I installed that zip you told me but unfortnly it didn't work....((( I'll hit the thanks button anyway )))
I may say that after ODIN installs the stock rom the phone automaticly boots into recovery and it gives me an error...
So it the firmware does install? If you reboot your phone, does it work?
If it doesn't work, try removing your SIM+SD card while booting.

After flashing the new firmware through Odin
Did you do a full wipe?
Edit: My problem has been solved, I tried to flash recovery again through odin but still issue was there.. then I download stock firmware from sammobile and then flashed the same through odin... and wolaaa... phone rebooted and issue is fixed now.. thanks @Pheoxy for your guidence...
Hi All,
I am having serious problem with my S3 i9305. I was using Amcha ROM version 2.20 yesterday my battery was dead and phone went powered off while I was sleeping, when I woke up I tried charging it but it turns on and stucked on bool logo I accessed recovery mode and tried to wipe cache and dalvik cache, but the issue is when I select wipe dalvik cache and then phone restarted it self and than stuck again on bootloop.. further when I tried to do factory reset through recovery than phone again restarted and then stuck again on boot logo..
I also tried flashing Amcha 3.0 version by putting it on external SD card and through recovery when I selected flash zip than AROMA started and then suddenly while installing ROM phone again restarted and then as usual stucked on bootloop.
please suggest me the way forward, phone is just working fine.. and then......this issue.. Please help as I am in serious issue...
Partitions might be buggered some how. Use Odin to flash recovery again to make sure and then flash stock ROM before android 4.3.
Do a wipe like you would switching Roms and restore backup if you can or flash whatever.

Mate install before 4.3 if you don't want annoying Knox boot loader.
