Is there any way to tell where my note came from or is it to late? I've already updated to Kl7. When I received it it was in a language that I didn't understand but I navigated through well enough to change the language to English.

I also have the same question. I purchased it off the internet, and wondered which country it was imported to from Samsung originally.
Attached is a photo of the sticker on the back on my phone. I figured "Fabrique en Coree par Samsung' is French?
Look at the last 3 digits if the software version then cross check it with the master list of stock ROM in the development thread. Mine was KKA so its from Switzerland

Hi I bought a new 32GB white galaxy note from Expansys UK, I knew my phone was not going to be a uk based phone as in the description it said 'EU handset + UK Adapter'. When I plugged it in kies I saw something like 'csc KK5 (ATO)', I was just wondering what the ATO meant. Is it a sale code or country for Australia or Germany? If it helps when I booted the phone up for the first time the Android start up was in German. The box is all in English and from the look of the back of the box, bottom right corner you can see the different euro country codes.
So if anyone can help me please, I would appreciate it very much.
Many Thanks

So, I just moved to Korea and I have the SHV-E160S KT's version of the Galaxy Note with LTE.
Should i be looking at ROMS from this area. Is this note supported here at XDA anywhere. Any directions to the correct place would be helpful, thanks!
From a quick google, I think the specs are the same as the AT&T US version of the note with snapdragon processor, LTE and nfc? I would get this verified before flashing anything, maybe pop a post in their forum.
Can you post back and let us know?

There are Korean sites like XDA, you might want to use those instead of here. Roms for either will not work.

I have been given a Chinese GT-S5380 Galaxy Ace that I would like to use here in North America. The phone works fine with an AT&T sim card, but the Chinese firmware on it hasn't got any of the Google apps and I can't add a Google account.
Can someone tell me the best stock firmware I can use for AT&T in North America so I can use the Google apps?
Many Thanks :fingers-crossed:

Which is the exact model of the phone because galaxy ace has lot of variants and flashing the wrong firmware would kill it.
Under the battery it should appear the model of the phone.

I've attached a link photo of the labels under the battery. Is it GT-S5380_C_REV 1.0 (shown in the bottom right)?
(unfortunately, it won't let me post a real link because I'm new to the forums)
Thanks for your help :good:

For example likr the screen I attached. With that screen ill confirm which version of the Ace you have.

You can use the "latest" firmware, which is S5830XWKTM fast and stable.

My dad purchased a new Galaxy S III mini online. It arrived with a European charger and in a foreign language. Which one I don't know. Anyway, he managed to get it switched over to English but apparently it will only connect to 2G. I had him check under networks and he says GSM is the only option.
It's this a firmware issue I could correct?
Getting info from him has been like pulling eye teeth and he is well over 1500 miles away and only slightly less in years.
Thanks in advance.

Why not flash a rom from your country?

Looks like my dad has lost interest, at least four the time being, in fixing this issue so, unless he ships the phone to me whereby I can flash rom's, etc., I'll consider the issue closed.
If there is any change, I'll post the results.

I guess S3 mini is forbiden on the US market due to Samsung lost at court with Apple.
Might help to try to flash ROM from region using the same baseband. Australia?

Hi guys, I have a question. I'm from the Philippines and bought my unit from an OL store. I'm not sure how they are ordering the units and where they are ordering it. My phone's default language when I first used it was first language in the attachment, not sure if it's Chinese or what. So I'm thinking they ordered it either from Singapore, HK or China, not sure just my guess. So if they are ordering from one of those countries does the updates depend on the country where they ordered the units?

updates depend on the customisation version. If you are rooted you can change it and get the updates for that customisation number
