It is my understanding that the AT&T branded Galaxy Note has both LTE and HSPA+ 21 radios. If battery consumption using LTE is a problem, can I turn off LTE and use HSPA+ 21 exclusively?
I'm sure someone will develop a widget or or something that will require rooting, etc.

My Tab 8.9 LTE uses the same chipset...I can turn off LTE.

I'm in the process of getting a Samsung Galxaxy s i9000 from Europe (a trade) and I would like to know if I could use it on T-Mobile or AT&t in the United States. Would I have to unlock it or is it already unlocked?? Would love to know as soon as possible... thanks...

You should be able to use it on att. Not sure though if even with the proper modem that you can enable 850hz band. Still has 1900 though so you should be good. As far as unlocked goes, depends if it's a carrier model or not.

I currently have T-Mobile so I was wondering if I could use it with T-Mobile. The internet speeds don't really matter much, I just want it to make and receive calls and texts.

i9000 supports 3G bands 900/1900/2100
AT&T uses 850 and 1900. So you'll only get 3G on AT&T in 1900 MHz coverage areas.
TMobile uses AWS 3G bands (1700/2100 MHz). It requires BOTH to work on 3G at all, so it will only work on 2G/EDGE.
You could use a Galaxy S i9000T on the entire AT&T 3G coverage, as it supports 850/1900/2100 MHz.
is the Australian sold S3 LTE the International version?
Is this Australian S3 LTE phone Europe compatible?
Any ideas?

Yes, and there are 2 types in Australia The GT-I9305 which is the one you can get in europe and is classified the International/Europe Version.. etc.....
And then..
You Have Telstra which brought out the GT-I9305T which is basically the same thing, I really dont think there is a difference, And IF there is a difference (a big IF) it maybe does not have the 2100mhz 3G frequency as telstra has shutdown that part of the 3G network in August.
But other then that it should be exactly the same as the I9305. Everything is compatible between the 2, Kernels, Firmware etccccc
Hope this helps.
Hmm - the service menu in my i9305T shows a choice of WCDMA 850, 900, 1800, 1900 and "IMT2000" - no 2100. Not sure whether that means much....
I live in Dominican Republic and use this phone with Claro RD with 850 freq, for some reason i installed a jellybean slimroms rom and my internet was H+ but when i returned to gingerbread software it only says 3G, do any of you know how to get this phone to show 4G or at least H+ with 2.3.6 stock software?

i may not explain this right, but it has something to do with how its coded. u still get 4G but just shows on 3G. there is a patch to show it back as 4G

HSDPA is "3.5G" and therefor some roms classify it as 3G, some roms classify it as H, some roms classify it as 4G.
There is a zip file floating in one of the rom threads that appends the 3G icon into a 4G icon, but it's only cosmetic, there's no actual difference in speed for any of the roms, it's just which icon it shows.
interesting prompted me to look into the difference in cellular data tech didn't know there was a difference before
Doesn't this device have the hardware have the capability for 4g lte + aws? I have latest ota update, and tried to change apn from epc.tmobile to fast.tmobile with no luck.

I don't believe that this phone is capable of LTE. I think it is only capable of HSPA+ (21 Mbps). I live in a refarmed area and my speeds have never changed.
Well it is capable of LTE on AT&Ts network but ironically not on T-Mobile's. The T-Mobile note has the exact same radio as the AT&T note does thus it does not have the added new T-Mobile frequencies for LTE. So unlocked T-Mobile notes can access AT&T LTE networks but not their own LTE network.

It's all about the frequencies, our phone is for the most part exactly the same phone as the AT&T Note. With exactly the same radio. Although it's capable of receiving T-Mobile 4g it's not able to use T-Mobile LTE as they use different frequencies. However to answer your question if your phone was nand unlocked, you have an AT&T sim card, and flashed an AT&T Note Modem then yes you can use AT&T's LTE with this phone.

hello there, i m using t mobile note 4 in India . Phone is not rooted. The only problem i m facing that i can't use 3g and 4g services.please help..
I am using t-mobile Note 4 in India as well.. I can use 3g and 4g with no problems at all I can use 3g on Idea and 4g on reliance jio. Try selecting a specific 3g network manually like select Idea 3g instead of idea 2g. May be switch the band.
Check the network coverage in your area
