I searched all over the Internet for this answer and came up with nothing so far. Has anyone tried the phantomskinz chromatics for the Nexus S 4G? I see they have the T-Mobile version, but has anyone tried that on the Sprint Nexus S? I used it on my Epic and I loved it, but I don't want to get it it if won't cover my phone right. If anyone has tried it, please let me know how it fit. Thanks!
Would like to know for my i9023 also, why dont these guys put the model numbers instead of just listing stuff as "for nexus s"?

I do have a message into Phantomskinz about the 4G version, I'll update this thread once I hear back from them. Hopefully someone here has actually tried the Nexus S version they are selling with both of the 4G and the i9023 versions so we can see what it will fit like.
Are the 4g and the I9023 the same size?
I have absolutely no idea...maybe others are going to shed some light on our situation...

Based on specs listed online (checked by others) the Sprint 4G version is 0.3 mm thicker than the TMo version. As far as I can tell, people have been able to use cases interchangeably. (e.g. the incipio feather that people seem to like fits both) I've been reading threads here and at androidcentral for a week or two and I don't recall someone saying they had an accessory that fit one and not the other, but none of this is confirmation for your question.
I just ordered a Phantomskinz Chromatics (carbon fiber black) and it's in the mail. I'll post with a response and possibly pictures when I get it in and installed.
Thanks so much! Pictures would be much appreciated! Let us know how it goes.

I emailed em, they won't fit the i9023, not happy!
They asked me if I want to test one and let them know how it fits...I'll let you know what I find out.

They do work for the NS4G, have the carbon fiber one on there right now.
How does it look? Fit perfectly? Pics?

I bought one for my NS4G and it fit alright. The power button didn't line up perfectly. The texture of the carbon fiber was actually more slippery that the stock back in my opinion. I took it off after a few hours of it being on there.

Same experience. The power button cutout wasn't lined up properly. There is also a little extra material at each of the folds at the corners where the back curves down. I agree that the carbon fiber is more slick than the original cover.
I've left it on for now because it looks ok overall and it's protecting the phone. If something better comes along I might try that. I'll post pictures later if I can.
I'm late to the party but bought the carbon fiber skin and it is definitely not made for the NS4G. It has extra at each corner as stated above plus it doesn't cover completely. I don't see myself using this for very long. I wish I had read this sooner.
I know using a case makes the phone more rugged and stuff but i like my phone thin... do you think i really need case for my nexus s?

too thin isn't good enough to hold , i have it slipped out of hand few times ...

Ringke makes a very thin case if you like the style:
http://www.rearthusa.com/Nexus-S_c_109.html
It's pretty close to my idea of a perfect case when it's new, but it tends to stretch out after a month or two.
A quality alternative is the Mercury case, but it's significantly thicker. The phone is thin to begin with, so I didn't mind the added bulk--I actually enjoy the little bit of bulk it adds.
Looks not that bad... i don't really mind scratch... I'll give it a try later on... thanks

No not at all actually. unless you are capable of dropping it.
That is not a bad case at all iGoogle. However it doesn't fit an i9023 (or NS4G).
Also, you can get it from eBay for about $1.70 or so, which is where i got mine (which i sadly can't use..). Easily the best bang-for-buck case available, if bought from eBay.

Its relatively thin and super cheap.
I don't like the feel of the buttons but apart from that I think it's a great case.

You don't need a case.
You don't need a case neither a screen protector. They make your nexus look very big.
The screen is very good, and very hard to scratch. About the back cover, it scratches very easily, so you can change it for another official back cover from time to time. One with NFC and everything is six dollars on ebay.
Hi guys,
I wanted to buy a tablet stand for a while, but they're either bad or way too expensive, which means that if I want crap, I better do it myself.
The UPS carton from the Nexus 7 was hanging out next to my desk for weeks so I decided to just take it, cut a piece, and make it look like a stand. I did it pretty randomly and it turns out not bad at all. This definitely solves my stand issue. I'll probably improve it a little more by adding some duct tape so it can last a bit more that 2 weeks.
This will literally take 2 minute of your time if you wanna give it a try. I love it so far.
Pictures: http://imgur.com/a/jr464
Not bad if you don't have spare DVD cases laying around (that stand is a little more stable and longer-lasting), but edit your pictures and downsize them, they're too big for the forum!
-Ara
Woops, replaced it by an imgur album, thanks
I made one from a dvd case. Thing works awesome. It holds my N7 while in a case too. I often use it at night to charge.
I used a spare Xbox 360 case so mine is neon green.

Cool...I saw that stand at Walgreens and thought it was pretty cool. But they want over $10 for it, and I've already got a $30 stand ( bought for my old ex-Prime ) and another simple silicone stand. But the one you have does tempt me every time I see it
What about this?
I got this for my nexus 7:

For $4.89 (plus free shipping), it's a good deal. And from a top seller to boot.
I modded a joystick to my old PDA by cutting up an eraser.
Definitively going to try this lol

Gawd I never thought i'd be shilling for gamestop but for $5 you really can't go wrong.
Sorry for the (gnex) crappy pic but you get the idea, the slots that the tablet fit into are super soft rubber (coated) and it folds completely flat.
Just go around your house and look for an unused picture frame prop.
I just thought I'd share mine.
I still need to trim off the glue, cut off the excess cardboard and paint it.
That's a cool idea. I make one for my kids.

just need some a joystick and buttons and your rockin' a hobo arcade!
Used one of those elmers painting pens for pastic. For not taking apart my nexus it came out fairly well.
Got the idea after seeing that article about carphone warehouse listing a 32gb nexus and a galaxy nexus 2. the picture they had of a nexus had a black trim. went to walmart and bought the paint pen asap.

Took some pics on my break. Going to redo it tonight now that I got some masking tape. I'll feel more confident getting closer to the screen.
just curious if using Gaffer tape would be easier. it's strong enough and it's removable

I would use a low-tack masking tape, gaffer tape (duct tape) would be far too adhesive IMO.
Transmitted from either Nexus7 - Tab2 - GT-N7000 - i9100
Gaff tape doesn't have the nasty adhesive of duct tape (until it gets old and dried out/dusty ). It would look all weird though because it's like a fabric.
I might have to do this to my nexus as well. Mainly because the silver paint chipped off a little bit on the top.

the elmers paint pen comes off pretty easy with your nail but stays on during regular use just fine. i've already stripped it to redo again tonight. beware though, you will run out of paint in the pen by the time your done.
Someone should attempt this using Plasti-Dip. If you don't know what it is, it's like spray paint, but it creates a rubbery layer over whatever you spray, and you can peel it off later if you don't like it. It's very popular DIY product for cars.
I did some googling and it looks like some people have already attempted using it on phones, usually battery covers and cases, but I think it should work fine for this, and I'd be very curious to see the results.

Looks like my Nexus 7 I got at the Google I/O conference. The ones with the white backs they gave out also have black trims.
I think its funny the the pic they show on the N7 box shows one with a black trim not silver. Haha
Im tempted to try this, but first I want to do what another user posted and colour the X on the back in the Nexus Colours.
He used tape and it looked awesome.
Could be a nice little project its just buying a whole roll of coloured tape (For each colour = 4!) for a little strip is pointsless haha :/
Not bad Op. Time to get the guts together and do the same

I agree. The trim should have been black from the start, and aluminium or stainless steel painted black would have been great!

I wonder, can the silver trim be separated from the body? This would make changing it to black much easier.

The one thing that concerns me is that it is magnetic. Is that safe? I found a video of the case(s) on youtube.

Besides being magnetic, they seem to be the all around best flip cover I've found (besides the Official Samsung Flip Cover that haven't looked at.) Nice colors, good design, appears to be good quality....... Guess we'll have to wait for something else.
I received this case the other day and the quality and feel is excellent. It is a beautiful case. I'm going to give it and try on my Note when I receive it. I like it better than the official Samsung flip cover.
Any feed back on the magnetic case being safe. I am getting my note 11\1 amenities want to order the case ahead of time. So far I am liking this case.

Safe? Well, it's not going to damage anything much, but it WILL screw with the S-Pen, and render the compass completely useless.
Ive got the case and been using it the last few days with no ill effects what so ever!!!
The magnet is next to the front camera and doesnt screw with the S pen at all. ln regards to the compass I cant comment as l dont use it (l dont think)!!!
All in all a really nice solid case - no complaints so far.
ps - went for the black and beige one - looks smart!

The case is safe. Smart covers for tablets (N7, Ipad) contain magnets. That is how they automatically wake up when you open them.

I see now. It looks like butt. At least the colors do.
Ok I just bought it as well the black one as it looks beautifull and it has a kickstand feature what more do you want from a case all for a super price delivered what are you waiting for guys?
I have this case in black and I absolutely LOVE it.
It looks amazing, isn't bulky and the materials are top-notch. The phone doesn't move a millimeter. I haven't used the pocket yet, but I think it's a handy feature.
The magnet is a plus for me. It hasn't caused any problems.
I didn't want the official case, because it's made of the same chintzy plastic as the stock back - which I don't like at all.
FYI I have a brand new one of these cases available for $15.00 shipped. I'm located in the US so shipping will be a lot quicker than China. Please see the thread below for details

I'm looking at this case too and have a couple questions.
Does NFC still work?
What is it like to text and make phone calls on it?
Do you think it would still fit in a car mount with the back cover flipped around?
How easy is it to take in and out of the case?
I will NEVER use a magnetic case on my devices.
Very expensive device + magnet = prone to damage.
What would a magnet do?

You ever use the OG Droid? Both the car dock and desk dock used magnets. Magnets are fine with these devices
I doubt a low strength magnet would have any negative effect on the device.
I ordered a wallet case with a magnetic clasp and initially I was worried about dead spots on the screen. Having received the case and seeing how laughably weak they are (just enough to hold the front panel shut, absolutely no more) I'm not sweating it at all.
I'm eagerly waiting for the FedEx guy now, but I'll report back and tell of any issues.
